Leto, finally free from the restricting shocks of the lingering paralysis, was met with a nasty surprise once she dragged herself to land again. The shock was much less pleasant than the ones before, but at least it stopped after a while.
Believing it to be the water, Leto shook herself rapidly, at the same time repeating a mantra towards herself and staring at the Emolga dead in the eyes. If she had planned her telekinesis correctly, the female rodent would catch her on her back and fly her to a land of cookies!
But, just in case, Leto let loose an Ice Beam, too, hoping to keep the Emolga immobilized to further test her physic powers should her current telekinesis fail.

Maya had -thankfully- made it to one of the platforms before she was struck by the ice beam and was frozen solid. A glare frozen in place upon her face

To be honest, Leto wasn't sure how she felt about this. True, the Emolga was hers to practice on now, but... what if the telekinesis had worked earlier? She was but one step away from the taste morsels!
Despairing, she hit the ice block with Rock Smash, hoping to break it free so she and the Emolga could fly away happily ever after.

Leto began to sob when her efforts turned to naught, the Emolga still frozen and she still by her lonesome. She appeared oblivious to the Emolga's rigid glare and, instead, attempted another Ice Beam, for the least she could do for her savior slash test subject slash new friend was make her into a statue that would never melt.

If Maya could move she would have pushed the rattata back into the water just to express her frustration. as it were she was left attempting to think of plots for revenge against the purple menace which were becoming increasingly elaborate.

((Oh man, looking forward it so much now. emotion_awesome I was planning to add her when they were close to Howling Forest, but I might just do it when they head to the next town. XD))
Was... was that a small twitch she had seen?! Oh no! More tears spewing out of her eyes, she used Rock Smash again, aiming for the base of the block.

The block that held Maya suddenly began to lean ominously, the waters by the edge of the platform lapping onto its surface more occasionally than it should have. Apparently, it was not a good idea to have started at the base and, desperately, Leto tried another Ice Beam to try and keep them both afloat, hoping the added weight would be easier to handle for the platforms, which should have been made to support the sturdiest of Snorlaxes.

Leto ran in nervous circles as the ice block eventually tipped over. A sharp crack rang as its base broke and, desperately, Leto tried another Ice Beam, when she was suddenly flung back. It had happened so quickly she hadn't realized the Emolga had freed herself!

Maya dropped into the water, frozen solid once more. Maya was so frustrated she wanted to scream. Thankfully she floated rather than sink thanks to the ice.
