"We did catch a few Halloween creatures - the owner of these pets - during the last mission, but they were never transported back here, and I heard that they had to abandon that outpost," She stroked her chin as she muttered; her eyes were probably boring holes into the doll, the way she was staring at it, almost daring it to move, "I'm sure you'll get the pleasure of meeting them at a later date. Just don't be fooled by some of their appearances... You'll know what I mean when you see them on a mission."
Like those reapers, who look so much like humans.
She slung an arm over the trainee's shoulder and pulled her closer, turning her head towards her ear to whisper, "Okay, see the way it's sitting down near the back now?" She was talking about the doll, of course, "Remember that position..." She then led Katherine away from that particular cage by nudging her shoulder, walking one round around the cages before returning to it.
"Look at it again," She sounded annoyed as she pointed at the doll... Which was now standing up, pressed against the glass, its eyes staring... Staring...

"Really?" Surprised, she stared at the woman for a second. Too bad..she would have loved to see what these Halloween creatures looked like. For now, she would have to make due with all the tiny little critters Deus Ex had acquired already. Nodding, Kat was sure to take Araine's advice seriously. After the mission in the Sahara, she wouldn't dare to take anything lightly when it came to these creatures. Though..it was hard to imagine creatures like the little foxfire to be as bad as she imagined. Then again, looks could be deceiving.
As the other woman swung an arm around her shoulder, Kat listened carefully as she whispered to her. Nodding once at her question, she nodded again when she was told to remember it. Walking after Ariane as she nudged her to follow, they did one lap around the cages before arriving back at the cage with the little doll inside. When told to look into the cage again, Kat nearly jumped back to see the thing pressed to the glass.
"Oh s**t!" Placing a hand over her heart, as if to keep it from exploding out of her chest, Kat inched closer to eye the doll. "I didn't know it could actually move..!" Tapping at the glass to see if it would move again, she was disappointed when it remained still. "Okay..I like the little dog thing--but this one..Nooo.."

"Now imagine them full sized and fully capable of rendering you handicapped," Ariane tried to used her most ominous voice, but probably ended up sounding like she usually did but in a deeper tone of voice, "Just be careful when you're on a mission to Halloween. You can't let your guard down, or boo!"
Now that she was done scaring the poor trainee...
"Right!" She announced suddenly, straightening up and tugging on her coat as she let out a soft, thoughtful hum, "I think it's about time we leave them to... Do whatever they do when they're left alone." Minipet things. "Maybe you'll get the chance to feed them one day... Really, most of them aren't that bad... But for now, have you been to the training grounds...? It'll become a really important part of your life here..." She placed an arm around the woman's shoulders again, happily guiding her away from the cages and out of the room as she rambled away.

Kat could only imagine the sizes these creatures could grow to. If it was anything like the one from the last mission--then she didn't want to know. Not that she wouldn't not find out later. Guaranteed, she would definitely face off some of these creatures later. Oh how eager she was.. "Heh heh, yeah..I'll be sure to keep my guard up then."
Still staring at the doll, Kat turned to Ariane as she announced they leave the Halloween critters be. "Okay." To be honest, she wasn't at all upset to leave the doll behind. "Eh? Really?" She asked, excited that she might someday have a chance to feed the little foxfire and others critters.
Training grounds..? "Not yet." Grinning at the other hunter, Kat followed her out of the room.
