It was a struggle to keep the laughter from bubbling back up with the demand, as his eyes resettled onto Zac. He obeyed, at least, scooping Zac onto one shoulder again, a hand wrapped around his stomach to turn him outward and paws propped up carefully against his arm. This way, Zac could take in the apartment instead of just Ever's shoulder and ear. It was, however, a bit awkward.
"What, you want me to pace for you, too?" His tone was dry, fingers shifting just a little under Zac's chin.

“Don’t offer if you’re not willing.” Zac’s tail twitched as he considered actually making the request. The rumble of a purr started tentatively again as the fingers tickled under his chin, he jutted his jaw and squinted his eyes in kitty bliss leaning into it to ensure that it wouldn’t be immediately stopped.
“purr-I haven’t-purrrrrrr- fought any senshi-purrrr” He paused to bat at the hand and disengage himself long enough to finish the thought before continuing. “I haven’t directly fought any senshi since the surrounding, but you were there too so I don’t THINK it was from a single senshi event. But what worries me as well is that we were civilians when this happened, even if they were targeting a power level they shouldn’t have been able to pin point me that way, or anyone else if this is more widespread. That suggests and accident but who? Who would have enough raw power to create such an effect? Besides that, why the form of a Guardian cat of all things, wouldn’t using the power needed to do –this- be better used by locking me into a civilian state where at least I wouldn’t have claws and, ridiculous head lasers?”
He paused and his ears flattened. “Though they did to a good job in removing my ability to open doors.”

"Maybe it's temporary." If it was temporary, Ever was totally fine with this, hopelessly amused by the way Zac's head followed his hand, by the way he could make the cat shift and weave and follow after digging fingers. He'd be less amused, however, as time wore on and his boyfriend stayed small, clawed, and fuzzy. That could be killer on a relationship.
"...wait." Something clicked and he paused, the smile fading out to something more thoughtful, pale eyebrows pulling together in a faint frown. "Head lasers?"

“it had BETTER be temporary.” He huffed the fur along his back rippling and his claws extending into needle like points without thought. He blinked at the pause over ‘head lasers’ though. “Ah…yes, you haven’t tousled with a cat have you.” He said thoughtful. “Normal guardian cats at least can fire a sort of ‘bolt’ of energy from their heads. It can do rather a number on you depending on rank I will say, it does exhaust them but depending on where they hit you and how strong you are. Actually I hate the claws most I must say.”

"You're not a guardian cat, though, Z -- " There was a pause. A hesitation. The cat wasn't exactly Zac and it wasn't exactly Zink and he thought it possible that either could get them in trouble. Ever floundered, digging for something appropriate, put on the spot and finally forced to come up with something to call the pair of them.
"Zed." It came out dry, faintly amused, melting to pleased with himself. Ever shrugged. "Maybe you don't get a head laser. You just get the claws."

“I’m a talking Cat, the only ones I know who can talk ARE guardian cats.” He said with a small roll of his shoulders. “I might not be a proper one but they can curse you out that’s for damned sure. They all have stars on their foreheads though, you’re probably right.” His tail twitched back and forth and then his ears swiveled again. “Zed?” He blinked.
“Where the dickens did ZED come from?”

"You seem to be pissy when I go for 'sugar' or 'honey'." Ever raised one shoulder at that, fingers stilling against the underside of Zac's jaw and his footsteps coming to a halt. Done with pacing, maybe. Time to genuinely consider that, with his eyebrows pulling together and his expression thoughtful, somewhat distant.
"...I think I'm going to...I don't know. Go out and see what I can see, maybe..." But it was distracted. He didn't even know where to start, who to ask, which corner to poke around in. It couldn't hurt to try, anyway.

Claws snagged for a moment into Ever’s sleeve, a pause and then of all things a head-bump to his chin. “Leave the window open, I should see if I can find something too, maybe it’ll be easier if I do it like this.” He said his tail flicking back and forth with anxiety that was coming in waves between more cat-like desires.

"Okay, but...don't get yourself in trouble, hn?" He eased over to crack the window, slipping Zac down out of his arms. Ever might have been mildy amused by how light the cat was on his feet, how easily he found the windowsill. One hand smoothed up Zac's tail, briefly.
"I mean. No yelling at big dogs or anything." A wobbling so-so gesture, a flicker of bright amusement, and he headed back toward the door, himself.
