Orpheus snorted at the sad attempt to catch him off guard again as he dodged another attack from the emolga. These stupid human-loving pokemon get dumber and dumber when they chain themselves to a human.
Orpheus then used Faint Attack. His stars glowed as he disappeared from sight for just a brief second before lunging at Tenka from a different angle.

Tenka scrambled frantically out of the way, and just barely managed to escape. While the Umbreon passed over head, Tenka swiftly hardened his tail and took another defense lowering swipe at the aggravated pokemon.

Orpheus grit his jaws as another attack into his defenses were done. Well two can play that game. The Umbreon used the shadows of the trees to disappear and back up a good distance from the emolga. The umbreon pawed at the ground and bunched up his muscles as he used Work Up to boost his attack.

Now rather terrified of the Umbreon, Tenka skittered to the opposite side of the clearing and launched a Thunderbolt from afar.

Orpheus front limbs fell into a crouch when the Thunderbolt took over his body. The chain and collar did not help at all repel the electric shock, if anything, it made it worse. Not to mention the toll on his defenses done by the emolga.
Enraged now, Orpheus used the shadows once more to hide his whereabouts. If someone looked carefully, the blue stars could be seen very faintly. The umbreon would appear and disappear as he judged the emolga's weak points before discharging another Dark Pulse.

Emolga looked around trying to track the Umbreon. This was not very successful, and Dark Pulse blasted painfully out of what seemed like nowhere. Catching sight of the glowing stars, Tenka decided to try another U-Turn and swooped towards the faint light.

Once again, Orpheus was hit with the insufferable bug attack. It seemed that that's the only move that electric rat knows. Even though, Orpheus is already furious with the way things are going in this battle, he is now about to explode in anger. Why is he so weak against this scumbags. Does having a human really make a pokemon stronger. NO! He cannot believe that!
With wild eyes, Orpheus used another Faint Attack.

Shina hated to keep attacking the beautiful Eeveelution, but it was clearly furious and scared, a dangerous combination. The best she could do would be to take it out as fast as possible, so she could maybe get it to a pokemon center. Those chains suggested it might have had a owner at some point, and a very bad one at that. It would likely refuse all help unless it was too weak to do anything about it.
The Umbreon flickered out of sight, then came out of nowhere to land a powerful attack that sent Tenka flying. "Tenka, don't give up! Use U-Turn again! It seems weak to that attack!" Shina called. Tenka shook the stars from his vision, hauled himself back to his feet, and once more went swooping at the Umbreon.

Orpheus tried to dodge the attack but only managed being skaved by it. Nonetheless, it still did damage as he already felt the the pain in his legs keeping him upright. This cannot be happening. This CANNOT BE HAPPENING! Humans are weak and useless creatures. The only reason they survived this long in the Pokemon world is their cruelty and cleverness.
Barring his teeth and hissing at the 'sympathetic' look the human was giving him. "Umbreon. Breeee, Umbreon!" [Keep your eyes off me!] Blindsided by his anger he once again ignored the electric mouse and lunged into darkness before attacking the human.

Tenka threw himself at the Umbreon to derail the attack. Their combined speed meant that Tenka took a nasty hit. He staggered back to his paws. "Tenka, finish this. U-Turn," Shina commanded. Tenka dove.

Orpheus' focus was so intent on the human that he did not see Tenka's attack. The umbreon took the full hit and cried out as he lost his footing. In the tumble of being knocked off his tracks, he twisted the wrong way and a sharp pain shot up his leg.
Now shrieking in pain now, with only enough energy reserved left to at least survive the next several minutes, Orpheus gingerly got to his feet. With such pain shooting up and down his leg, he momentarily forgot the human and human-loving pokemon to test out the injury. Another shot of pain caused him to keep his paw up. It must be a sprain paw. Nothing that time and rest would not cure.
Now that Orpheus contented himself that he would not be helpless just yet, the umbreon's focus went back to his enemies. With murderous glare, he hissed angrily and barred his teeth again, hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. "Umbreeeon....Umbreon Breee" [This is not over! If I ever see the two of you again, it will end the way I wanted.]
With that, he used Flash to momentarily blind the two before fleeing into the forest so that he can find a safe place to rest and heal both his pride and injury. Lost to a human and a human-loving pokemon. How will he ever live this down with himself? Does having a human companion truly makes a pokemon stronger? Doubt filled his mind as he limps away.

"Tenka, come here. Let's get you healed up again," Shina said. Tenka scrambled up to his perch on her shoulder. Maybe he shouldn't have run off. Staring after the Umbreon, he shivered. He hoped he didn't run into that Pokemon again. Sighing, Shina patted Tenka, and headed back to the Pokemon center.
