That was for certain. It felt like nothing he had experienced before. The feeling was pretty damn exhilarating. Deryk wanted to do it again if possible. But he was feeling a little worn down. That, and it looked like Ariane was wearing out as well.
Moving out of the way of her next attack, he slipped in and aimed a strike for her side.

The air was knocked out of her lungs, and she quickly took several steps back, swinging her weapon out to counter before putting herself out of range of his weapon, trying to regain some of her energy back as she panted, narrowing her eyes.

Another light hit he took. These attacks were really starting to wear him down, but the fight wasn't over yet! Letting out a breath, he tried to keep close to Ariane to limit her attack possibilities. Once he was close enough again, he stabbed out for her shoulder, trying to catch it.

His stabs hurt, and she was starting to tire.
She forced him away from her by swinging her weapon down on his arm and then darting away, holding her shoulder, applying pressure to where it was hurting.

It was the same sort of urging she had before, but as amazing as it felt, Deryk hesitated. Ariane looked like she was really wearing down. Would it be safe to do an attack like that? He decided it wasn't.
Wincing as he took another light hit, he tried to land another blow onto her. But his hesitance had slowed him down considerably.

Ariane wasn't so kind.
Kintama was once again thrown towards Deryk once Ariane had placed some distance between them, the weapon growing in length till it reached its target, where inertia took over, wrapping the trainee up like some kind of a human burrito, weighing him down.
"You actually have a heart," She sounded mildly surprised as she sat down next to her wrapped up opponent before desummoning Kintama and putting the necklace around her neck; she wasn't sure how to feel about that, "I don't really see this as my win at all... Ugh, alright. You can ask me one question - any question - and I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability... You can take a rain check on it if you like."
She then laughed, raising an eyebrow, "Unless you prefer other methods... How old are you, boy?"

And thus Deryk's hesitation cost him. Before he could move out of the way, the bolas were thrown, taking him to the ground, hard once again. Groaning as the fight left him, he desummoned Tooley while waiting to be released. He glanced up at Ariane as she commented on him. Having a heart.. was that really a good thing to have here? The trainee could only hope that he wouldn't end up hesitating against an enemy, otherwise he would probably be dead right about now.
"Other methods?" he repeated while staring up at her. With a wince, he pushed himself up into a sitting position.
"Probably don't seem like it, but I'm 24."
As for her offer, he was thinking about it right now.

"24?!" She exclaimed, immediately grabbing his chin - as gently as she would allow herself - and tilting his face towards her, examining him with a thoughtful look before letting him go. There was a second's pause before she started to laugh, throwing her hands up into the air, "Yup, can't tell at all. You have a baby face."
And the hood obstructed his face, anyway.
"Yup, other methods," She repeated, grinning as she raised an eyebrow at him, leaning towards him, "Come on. You're 24. You have no idea what I mean? Really?" Only Jeremy would know that she was teasing.

"Er.. No. I know what you mean. Just.. didn't expect that. I guess," he said as she grabbed his chin to get a better look at his face. Deryk stared back, a little sheepishly.

"Cute, that's settled then," She stretched her limbs, touching her toes and wincing when she remembered that she was still injured; the ache in her limbs would probably take a while to go away completely.
"Well then-" She stood up, dusting her jacket down before extending a hand towards the - surprisingly older - trainee, "Shall I help you back to your room, Mr Bond?"

Looking at the extended hand, Deryk took it to help himself get back to his feet. He was going to have a few bruises from this spar, that was for certain. But, over all, he felt it was pretty worth it.
"No thanks. Should be able to make it on my own. Uh.. thanks for helping with the whole charged weapons deal. Never thought Tooley could do something like that. Pretty awesome," he nodded, "See you around then."

She then turned and walked away after offering him a brief wave; some cool down stretches, and then a good rest sounded good to her right about now.
