Her head raised, blinking at Kiran before shrugging her shoulders again. "Oh. Uncle used to talk about Cruor a lot, and then suddenly he stopped. Now he gets tense if we mention it."
Her tail twitched gently, turning to view the man with the tilt of her head. "Mmmm." Another twitch of the tail. "You know, you could die out here if you don't know where to get water."

"Well duh," Kiran said in a dismissive tone, waving away the comment as though death were only a minor inconvience. "I might have been born in a forest but my mom actually prefers the desert." He rolled his eyes. "She gave me plently of warnings and advice before she let me set foot out here. If she didn't think I could survive she'd have probably picked me up and flown me into some really deep forest wilderness far away from all deserts."
He tilted his head up and frowned at the sky. Sad part was Avatre probably would have done that. Tch, she was such a worry-wart. He had no doubt she was looking out for him still. Seriously, didn't Chandra take up enough of her time with her whining?

Scowling, Viola whapped him with her tail. "Don't be rude." She held a tone adopted from her father. Shaking her head, Viola flopped down onto her stomach, tail wagging.
"Says the male that had to ask me where shade was." Though, one yellow eye opened to view him with a slight smile, head tilting. "Your mama can fly? That's so cool! I knew someone who could fly..."
Her heart sank briefly, ears flipping against her head. No. No time for that. No no no.

Kiran glanced at Viola, raising an eyebrow at her ton. "You'd don't scare me miss, I've got siblings. And I wasn't being rude, I was being me."
He stretched and suddenly flopped down on the ground. Relaxing for a bit felt like a good idea. Maybe even a nap...
Nah, nap later.
"And I knew where to find shade. Not this particular bit of shade, but I know where I could have found some," he added, his pride not happy until he'd defended his competency. It was a habit he still retained from living with a strict older brother.
"And yea, one of my moms can fly. Annoying cause I can never outrun her on flat ground, but I dislike thick forests as much as she does." Kiran wasn't really sure why he didn't like forests all that much. Maybe because it was too boring and predictable? Too easy?

"I wasn't trying to scare you." She protested, flopping her head onto her paws and viewing him curiously. Finally, she cocked her head to the side, tail wagging briefly as she watched him.
"Well, I live near an oasis, there is plenty of water there and food. So, if you need somewhere to drink and eat you're welcomed there. I'd be careful and remember my name, though, since my tribe-mates might get tense."
Frowning gently, she laughed to herself, nodding. "I know how that is. As a kit I'd wander from the tribe and the winged members or my normal sister would chase me down."

Kiran rolled over on his back, looking up at the sky.
"Hm. Probably cause you were a kit. Adults tend to think just cause you're little you're still a baby and can't take care of yourself worth beans." He scowled, remembering all the scoldings he'd gotten from the older members of his family everytime he tried to sneak off.
"Anyway, they leave me alone now that I'm grown up. I thought about vanishing into a thick forest, just to lose my mom for a bit, but chances are she'd somehow find me and start yelling at me or something."
Kiran rolled his eyes. He wasn't scared of Avatre's scoldings, they just tended to be boring.

"They still do it sometimes." She mumbled lowly, shrugging and watching the male flip over. "I know all the ways of the desert, but I rarely have left it. Not even when Mom needed some members to come with her on a trip outside."
She frowned gently. Sometimes, she wondered what would happen if she left the tribe and explored. Shrugging, she rolled over to watch the male, grinning.
"What's the forest like?"

"Confining," Kiran complained. It was an old grievence of his; despite being a normal fox, he seemed to have inherited his Daeva mother's dislike of thick forests such as the one he was born in.
"I mean it's trees every-stinkin'-where," he grumped, staring up at the sky. "You can't turn around without hitting a tree, seems like. And it's frickin' dark too, all the stupid trees blocking out most of the sun so all you get is this murky green light for a couple hours a day."
He snorted and shrugged from his position on the ground, glancing at Violet. "Mom says not all forests are that bad, but I say who needs 'em anyway. I like open skies better. You get wind out here."

Viola listened quietly, smiling at the male. "Well." She had such a silly idea in her head! Giggling, she shook her head, flipping her paws over one another. "I have the stupidest idea, but wanna hear it?" She didn't wait for an answer, instead flicking her tongue over her teeth.
"You stay here for a bit. No promises, you can leave whenever you want. But it can be dangerous living here without knowing what to do. So, while you stay I can come and visit you and show you what to eat, where to sleep, and where water is, or rather how to know when water is nearby. What do you think?"

Kiran's gold eyes narrowed. "Call me a jerk, but is it really so tough to live out here if you can manage it? I mean-," he said added, still looking at Viola from his spot on the ground, "-first thing I did when I met you was kill your pet snake, or whatever it was. Seems to me like no matter how much you think you know it doesn't exempt you from getting knocked on your a**."
He wiggled a bit, shifting his weight. "Why you even out here, anyway? You just don't strike me as a desert type of gal, ya know?"

She frowned at the male, tail twitching. "It is dangerous, I've found many dead foxes out here. Many. Lots and lots!" Her tail froze, giggling slightly. "I can manage it because I have my family, Solarie. The Elder watches over us and we all work together to survive, and the tribe lives right on an oasis." She blinked at the male, biting her bottom lip as he mentioned the snake.
"It's not like that. Usually snakes don't bother us. Solarie members, that is. We know how to deal with them. I just wasn't paying attention, but Elder Conundrum doesn't need to know about that. The desert isn't that bad for us. My tribe was blessed my our Modeity, our home expands to include new members and we are blessed with being able to deal with the harsh weather better." She shrugged, tail drifting around her body.

Kiran shrugged. "My big brother had a fascination with snakes. The deadlier the better. Always thought it was weird, but I learned to fight 'em anyway cause the forest was full of 'em."
He looked up at the sky, mind drifting to a certain magenta Daeva. "My winged mom prefers deserts. She likes the open skies, and being free. Guess I'm like her in that regard. My other mom..."
Kiran frowned, concentrating. "I dunno. She was a good mom, I suppose. Not a lot of reactions you could get out of her. Guess I look a little more like her than I do my winged mom."
A detail sprung to mind. "She had a tattoo over one of her eyes. A sun, I think. Always thought it was funny, cause we were born in such a dark forest." He frowned at the irony of it.

"A sun?" Her ears perked, head tilting. "That's the symbol of my tribe. What was her name?" She questioned, viewing him quickly. No... could he be..... Her ears flicked backwards once before resting her tail around her ankle. No, he would have come around the tribe, then! Right? Right!
.....
Though, when she was born she wasn't brought to the tribe right away. Her mother had run off for some time before returning with them. Still....

Kiran blinked. Her name? He'd never asked; maybe he wasn't a momma's boy, but he still called his mothers "Mom" or "Ma". Surely he'd overheard it before though, right? His brother and sister-in-law usually called his wingless mother "Mom", but hadn't his winged mother used her real name when speaking with her?
Guilt shot through him that he wouldn't know his wingless mother's name. He hadn't realized how little he seemed to have to do with her.
"I think it started with an R-," he said slowly, thoughts racing, "-and it was short. Ren....Rain.....Rei?" He shrugged, expression troubled. "I was usually with my brother out in the forest. Only person who used Mom's actual name was my other mom, and she was usually with my sister."

Her ears perked, and suddenly her paws stretched out, touching his paws and paddling them, excited beyond belief. She wiggled her entire body, tossing her head up and then down as she suddenly pushed off his paws, standing.
"Rei? We have a Rei with a sun on her eye! She's with us! In Solarie! Maybe she's your mama?" She was stupidly excited, it was clear by that silly little dance she was performing. "Actually, wow! Now that I think about it, you two do look similar!" She calmed finally, tail wagging a mile a minute however her body staying firm on the ground for now.
