I don't think its wrong! But please don't abuse it. I'm a veggie and i hate walking down the meat section with my family or friends. To me i see dead corpses everywhere. I'm the only veggie in my family!

To Lonora:
I'm not trying to be mean or start something but Humans are over eating! We are the ones who are destroying all the animals food! I mean we are the ones who are creating global warming not the animals! Does that mean we should start eating ourselves so that we don't destroy the world?
I believe everything should be given a chance to live not live to die! I do understand that other people have different opinions but that is mine. Life is too short for me. I can't see myself eating any animals. I just picture it as my cat, dog, horse, chickens (which i'm friends with) or fish. I can't do it. It is like eating my family. I can't even hurt a bug. I will cry.

+++ My response: I believe in Christianity, so here's my little theory: If we weren't supposed to eat meat, then why did God put pigs and cows and goats on Earth? Why did he give us the nature to kill them and eat them? Because it's life. We can breed them so there are plenty of cows. We can breed them so there are plenty of pigs. We need meat to survive. We're not called omnivores for fun. So, there you go. Not trying to be harsh or anything, just speaking my mind. And to comment on the first paragraph of your last post, Aurora; what do you mean,'Please don't abuse it'? I wouldn't call it 'abusing.' As I stated before, it's life. People can be vegitarians if they want. It's their decision. I just think that there's a reason God put them here on the earth [I'm not trying to say that the only use they are is for meat, no. That's just what we humans use them for, most of the time.] +++

I'm i am not a vegetarian but i love animal's so much but i do not eat my favorite animal ...thats a pig ....do you think that so wrong???

3nodding It's ok that you eat meat!!! I am a vegetarian for my own personal reasons. I feel morally sick/bad eating meat, so I don't do it.

Some meat industries don't look after their animals in a humane manner and find this ok. Probably because they don’t think animals have souls etc. The people who run these or have seen these and continue to support it are the ones I can not respect.

But many meat farmers don't torture their animals before the kill, and I am not against that kind of meat or anyone who eats it.

Just make sure you know the source of your meat, and that you’re not supporting the wrong people!

I live with many local farmers around me, I am lucky enough to walk down to a farm to see with my own eyes how the animals are kept. If I find the cows, chickens etc are kept well I will support the product (only the milk and eggs). Also I am lucky enough to have a store near me that only sells locally grown organic foods.

Don't abuse it arrow

1. Some of the larger meat industries do abuse this! Like the chickens having to live in the corpses of their own, they have their food thrown on them. They have to endure harsh weather, or caged conditions. Getting injected so they grow faster (heart and other organs can't keep up with the growth so they die painfully). Their legs give out because they can't keep up with the rest of the body. ***Anyways the list goes on with horrible torturous ways of keeping animals. It's disgusting and abusive***

2.Also many people hunt or fish too much in one area, thus abusing!

3.Something had to give its life for you, don't abuse the privilege.(wasting meat etc)

I obviously don’t know what she meant, for I am not her. But many people abuse this right to eat meat!

I don’t believe animals were put on this earth simply to be consumed by us. (I know you said that may not be their only reason for life but some people do think that so---> wink I find this to be ignorant, selfish and a ludicrous way to think of animals!! Also this theory some what falls apart because many animals can not be consumed by people (poisons etc). Do you have any pets? If so do you feel that to die for you is their purpose?

To GreenEnigma: I don't believe in God, but as I was raised Christian, I know a little about the bible. If God gave us dominion over the animals, that means we are supposed to take care of them, not breed them to such an extent as humans do now. Um, maybe the "reason" they were put here was to live, perhaps? Humans aren't as special as they think. They got 'stuff'. That's basically it. We combine various traits other animals have, and 'make stuff'.

To Shiloh: Totally agree, but even if many farmers use good standards, the few that abuse their animals have many more animals and outweigh the smaller, more numerous farmers. Just compare the good farmers to peaceful little doves, and the hideous, putrid jerks who torture their animals remain humans, with all their various tools of destruction. Not just humans, though, little Hitlerettes bent on taking over the economy! BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! burning_eyes

Food for thought: In California, there's a legal loophoole wherin a cat isn't legally ownable. I.E., if a dog strays off the property and attacks someone, the owner is held accountable. If a cat does, there will be no punishment for either cat or human. This does not change no matter how many cats one has that roam loose. Legally, a cat in California can attack anyone or anything without reprocussions. I think you see where I'm going with this.

Our teeth are designed to be omnivores. You can eat what ever the hell you like biggrin just make sure you balance your protein, vitamins, minerals, water and what not.
