Ryan gave the man a confused look. What? You could time these things? Or was this just a suggestion? Ahh, the whole thing had him confused now! When was Marcus just going to admit that he was addicted to these cookies?
"No thanks, I'm I'm going to have to kindly refuse that offer..." Really, after witnessing the affects they've had on people so far... he never wanted to try one, regardless of how great they made you feel.
Ryan attempted to block, but the fact that Marcus had aimed for his hand to start with kind of defeated the purpose. He felt the cold steel pierce through one of the joints, between the plates of the gauntlets, and bite into the palm of his hand. For once he was thankful, that it was gauntlets he had for a weapon. Otherwise, he'd probably have a nice hole right through his hand right about now.

Definitely a blessing he thought to himself as he took a stab to shoulder. Though instead of moving back out of reach again, he grabbed hold of the blade and used that chance to rake his claws across Marcus' chest.
"Thanks... You're pretty good yourself. Though I'd hate to see what you're like in battle, when you're not hyped up on cookies." The compliment was a bit strange, considering he was the one on the receiving end on a good majority of the hits, but it was still nice to be hear.

A hiss escaped his lips and the claws went in. Gauntlets were cool yes, but also painful. "I like to think I am a badass cookies or no." Backing off, he rolled his shoulder. His swinging arm was getting a bit stiff, or maybe he was just tired of doing the same thing. Sadly, he had to do it again, going again for the gauntlets.

Ryan grinned despite himself. He felt the cold steel bite at his hand. Again, his gauntlets saving him from any permanent damage the attack might have caused, but this was really going to make using his hands for the next few days difficult.
The attack, however, left Marcus wide open for a counter attack, making it easy for Ryan to strike him again with the gauntlets.

Wincing at the blow Marcus still thought it was good. "Nice counter," his body turned from the blow, feet going back. Swinging, his lip twitched in annoyance. "Don't think I much good at it though."

"Eh, beginners luck..." He assured, moving to block the oncoming blow, which he found to be pretty light and easy to fend off. Unfortunately, because he chose to use both arms for his own defense, he wasted his chance to counter again.

Beginner or not, Ryan was doing pretty good. Maybe the guy had a bit of hidden talent. "Luck doesn't really hang around here, trust me, try the deathsweeper and you will find out how luck pretty much doesn't exist." A stab at him again before drawing away.

"I'll take your word for it." He had yet to check out any of the challenges like the deathsweeper himself. In fact, he had been a little nervous about doing so, but it seemed that Marcus had experienced the challenge already. Which, judging by his words it was easy enough to tell that it hadn't been a pleasant experience at all.
:Concentrate, Ryan!:
He hissed in pain when he felt the next strike hit. It wouldn't be long now until the spar was over. He was already feeling a little light headed, but not enough to take him out of the fight just yet. Unfortunately, Marcus had already gained enough distance between them both for his gauntlets to reach, so instead, Ryan made a quick spin to deliver a solid kick to the trainee.

Grunting with the kick, Marcus went to a knee. He hardly swung out, but he had angle, he need to right himself. "Moon course is always the best."

Tybalt cursed when his knee was hit. It was bad enough that his hands were going to be next to useless for the next few days, but if he couldn't walk, there was going to be a problem. Thankfully the cut wasn't too deep. He'd be able to walk just fine. It would just sting like hell.
"Moon course..? You'll have to show me that one later..." He tried smile, but instead winced when he coiled his hands into fists. Ah that bloody hurt... It hurt even more when he actually threw the punch and his fist connected with the man's cheek.

Marcus was a little biased about the moon course but that was alright wasn't it? He liked the fact that you didn't die or get your face vandalized. The punch was good, and got him a bit winded. he managed to get a punch back, though not a very good one. "It's just building some walls. Nothing too strenuous."

The punch, despite the lack of force behind it, sent Ryan stumbling back. He didn't think he could put up with much more of this, not without losing consciousness. He was already feeling light headed, this was probably as far as he could go.
"Walls sound nice right about now..." Something to take the hits for him sounded great actually. "I think this spar is yours." He said with a grin and put his hands up in surrender, as the gauntlets vanished in a flash of light and reformed as a small keychain.

As soon as the gauntlets were gone, so was the sword. And his hyperactive state. The cookies had worn off, and while he did feel a little sad nothing 'exciting' happened, he had won a duel. That was a good thing on it's own after all. "Thanks for the duel. I'm not still acting hyped up am I? It's a bit hard to tell as they wear off."
Walking over he offered a hand shake. "Go at this again another time?" He hoped next time he'd be less hyped up on cookies. Even if they taste just that good.
