This... this wasn't NEARLY as bad as the spice ghouls party that Hel and Xiu had had! In fact he was grinning as he lounged on his couch, watching her sing to her heart's content. He should have brought the spookies!
The punk boil clapped and cheered as she finished, but didn't move from the couch, silently offering to let her do another round. It wasn't as if he couldn't do it any time he wanted to, after all! Besides, having a cute ghoul singing in front of you? It was rapidly becoming one of Roch's favorite pastimes.

Do this 'often with 'all tha'folks that visit ya? Levi flipped through the book again, trying to spy something that rang a bell. For technology, this sort of machine had some good use to it. There were just- so many songs. Learning it from word of mouth by others was great, but sometimes she found words changed from person to person back home if the lyrics were misheard. That could make for some mishaps, but she certainly would want to know the actual words to things where possible.
What sorta' thing ya'usually sing yerself? Surely he had some attachment to a few musical tales if he possessed this device. What sort of songs did his kin enjoy?

He thought about it. "I like to sing a lot of stuff, but I ain't really a singer," he admitted. "I got this room from Riley, which, jack, I still owe her some favors for, but.. well, basically this place is so I can practice my FEAR. I have all these chords I need to learn, and some of them are kinda dangerous, so if I were to play it where people could hear it--well, y'know?"
He shrugged, figuring that was as good an explanation as he could come up with.

Jackin' crackers n' eadcheese. It just sort of fell out of her mouth when Roch mentioned the demoness had given him a room. To simply be given a room Levi could only think of one reasoning: Demons were sure rich.
The reaper went on to explain about his FEAR and it was like everything just made sense. I see! So music fer yew's like... Mot n' his sharp shootin'? She looked back toward the direction of the bed where Roch had been playing the guitar when she arrived. There was a stress to her expression now. So when ya'play, yer... Was she under some sort of trance and she didn't know it? She felt fine but- I ain't gonna git knocked off'a my feet 'er nothin' now, am I? The book she held drooped a bit in her hands, ears and tail following suit.
That would be a real sneaky thing to do, alright.

Roch looked at her blankly for a few long moments before he started to laugh. "Oh no, it ain't--it's just a guitar unless I'm usin' my FEAR!" he told her, still grinning. "But that'd be sweet, wouldn't it? Makin' people do stuff just by playin--" He shook his head. "Nah, I got two chords I can use, and the second one just now started somewhat makin' sense--it's a healing chord. Hell, the first one gave me a hell of a lot of trouble up until--"
Up until the boogeyman had done something to his FEAR. Sure, he was positive that hadn't been what the guy had been planning, but it'd helped him out a hell of a lot nonetheless. "Somethin' happened," he finished. "Now my DAD, on the other hand, he's got this song he plays that can steal your FEAR. But I guess that makes sense, cuz, well, he's a full fledged grim reaper."

kekeke~ 'lright. Can never be to careful, eh? Almost instantaneously her expression brightened again, ears, tail and hands returning to their upright posture. I hear ya'on tha' troublin' part. Still got'a right nasty cough from tinkerin' in fights. Whether she'd brought up poison intentionally or not, the dar stuff never seemed to come out easily. But- that first chord... ya'got it down now? Something had... happened regarding his chord? Levi wasn't sure if it was her place to ask. He'd paused while mentioning it... which was rather curious.
Family; family was something that Levi enjoyed discussing. To her, it was one of the two most important things in her life- that and candy corn, of course. Oh YEA? So yer Pa 'is a real workin' man, eh? Dang, sure does sound like'a right fine skill ta'have. Means he's helpin' out all'us. A hard worker! She moved to the couch, sitting on an arm rest. The tatzel's tail curled and uncurled excitedly, obviously intrigued by Roch's family life. Family was something to take pride in!

He thought about it for a moment, a strange mix of emotions on his face. "My Dad," he said slowly, "I'm pretty sure he's an awesome reaper. But I didn't realize that you could get even more badass with time till I met my granddad again," he told her, thinking of the two men that made up his family. "Course, though, with him workin' all the time I didn't see him much when I was a scareling," he added offhandedly.
At one time that fact had pissed him off to no end, and caused several complexes, some that he was still trying to let go of. "What about you? What does your family do?" Time to change the subject.

Oooh- goes down tha'line, eh? Thems some boots ta'fill. Roch's gran was also a reaper of merit; that meant Roch himself would be looking to upkeep that family tradition? Levi nodded in understanding. She'd want to make her folks proud by becoming better at their trade as well. Welp, we're 'a farmin' family. My folks grow candy corn in ma'town. Just 'bout everyone in ma'town actually. Related ta'nearly tha whole place n' everybody's responsible fer grownin' them crops. If there was a need to pick the candy corn come harvest time, the whole town would need to lend a hand in the process. It was times like these when Levi learned most of her musical know-how. Come harvestin' time, ma Pa would play 'is banjo with some'a tha other older folks n' we sing' long while gatherin' tha crops. That's whee'I used ta sing most. She nodded like she was remembering scenes in her past where this was true. (( OTL sorry for the belated!!! ))

"Heh," Roch said, thinking of the family music thing. "Every time my dad plays his sax I wind up falling asleep," he admitted. "Not sure why, but... it makes me sleepy." He shrugged. "But my granddad plays the piano. It's pretty awesome." Then he looked at her. "Now I seriously want some candy corn," he said, getting to his feet. "C'mon, let's go get some!"

Sleepin'? kekeke. I guess ain't everybody's cup'a corn juice. Honestly, the ghoul had rarely heard a saxophone enough to know if it was able to place listeners in a sleepy state. Her own Pa's banjo did no such thing that she could recall. As if caught by the sound of a chime, her ears immediately stood in alarm and Levi smiled wide at Roch's mention of wanting to eat some candy corn. It was the first time a fellow student had openly asked to try her candy corn. Boil- ya'll can have as'much as yew can fit in that thar gut'a yers. Let's go! She'd bring Roch out and carry a wooden barrel just outside of monster dorm from her room so they could eat it outside on such a fine day.
