"Pride comes before fall." He paused. "Literally." At this point he'd pay to see it happen.

Ryan arched a brow and snorted. "Now you're just showing off!" He said, giving the man a 'tsk,' very tempted to shut the door on him. Very tempted.

"Err... Are you sure you want those..?" He asked, looking back at Wilson with a confused look. Maybe he hadn't heard about those cookies yet... Should he break the news to him or---suddenly Ryan was grinning devilishly at the older man.

"I think they're over this way, C'mon."

“Haha. Very funny.”

Wilson allowed himself to smirk smugly. “You asked,” he insisted, Sir Yan still tightly held in his hands. “Yeah?” He answered with a confused tilt of his head. Was there something wrong with the cookies? Did Ryan somehow know they were expired….? Well, he would still eat them anyways. No use in wasting food, slightly old or not. He was completely oblivious to the mischievous grin Ryan threw him.

“Okay…?” Wilson peeked inside the kitchen, which was relatively empty except for an old lady? “Miss?” The plump woman stirring the batter didn’t pause at all as she turned to face the pair with her unusually-bright smile and blank eyes. “Woah.” Startled by the surprisingly creepy woman, he took a cautious step back. Uhh….

Ryan shook his head and pretended to be oblivious to Wilson's sudden concern. He was not going to spoil the surprise now. Not when he was willing to take the bullet for free. It was too good an opportunity to waste!

"Alright then, you go pick out your cookie, I'm going to go pick out a table." He said, giving the older man a pat on the back and walking off.

Yup. Totally unsuspecting. “Okay then.” Wilson opted to slip Sir Yan into his pocket pants—he wasn’t quite sure how he managed to slip the thing into his pockets, but at least he managed it. He hesitantly inched toward the woman, who continuously stirred and mixed her bowl while unblinkingly staring at him. Okay, who was this woman and where did she come from because she was seriously freaky.

The woman seemed to know what he was looking for, and reached behind her for a bag of the freshly-baked treats. Wilson was surprised, but graciously took it anyways. “Um. Thank you.” She didn’t say anything and turned away, mixing and mixing. To say that Wilson sped away out of the kitchen would be an understatement. He untied the plain ribbon that sealed the bag as he slid next to Ryan. “Are you sure you don’t want some? They smell pretty good.” He bit into one, pleasantly warm and chewy. Wilson took another bite and another.

Meanwhile Ryan was at a table trying not to laugh as Wilson nervously picked out a bag of cookies that the strange woman had to offer. It was proving to be quite a difficult task too, and resulted in him leaning over the table as he choked back his laughter.

Finally, by the time the other hunter trainee made it back, he had control of himself again. Though the corner of his lip twitched up now and again.

"Nah, not really hungry for sweet things right now. I'll probably get some real food after." Definitely didn't want any of those. Not until he knew what 'damage' they could cause.

Ryan was laughing now, uncontrollably so. It worried Wilson, but he kept innocently nibbling away at the cookies. They were delicious.

“Really? Okay then.” And Wilson just went right back to devouring the cookies. He seemed content, even peaceful, but by the time he had eaten half of the baked goods things were going a bit awry. “Hey Ryan, are you sure you don’t want these cookies? Because these cookies are pretty darn good because I think these are even better than the stuff my Aunt Nana bakes—hey do you know my Aunt Nana? I don’t think you do, but she’s a nice woman. She’s really bubbly and she’s got this hilarious, tacky garden. Oh, but she lives in this haunted house, you know? I was really scared of it when I was younger, and—“

Wilson just wouldn’t shut up.

"Yeah, I'm sure." He answered shaking his head and stifled another laugh.

He did so again when Wilson repeated the question now that he had devoured a few more cookies. Though this time, he didn't stop talking. Which, was amusing at first and he listened to the completely random chatter, as it continued to jump from one story to another, but... the chatter kept coming and coming and now Ryan was starting to fear it wouldn't stop.

"You okay Wilson...?" He asked slowly.

So... was this the power of these cookies?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:46 pm

Fear the power of the cookies.

Wilson nodded eagerly as he smiled widely, perhaps a bit too widely. His gaze never tore away from Ryan as he reached toward to fish out another cookie from the bag. Even with food in his mouth, he had no qualms about talking while he chewed. “Oh yeah, Ryan! I’m totally fine. Perfectly fine! I mean yeah I guess I’m sorta confused about this Deus Ex Machina business and all that, but I’m sure everything will be answered in due time. Doesn’t that always happen in the books and movies? So I bet I’ll be getting the hang of this hunter and trainee business soon enough! You know these cookies are really good. Maybe I should have these more often. Should I have these more often? Ryan, what do you think?” For once, he actually paused and waited for Ryan to answer, reaching for another cookie all the while.

Ryan stared at Wilson and shook his head.

Nooo... No you're not okay.

Wilson's chatter was never ending. Hell, he didn't even stop long enough to swallow a mouthful before he continued on speaking. Nor did he stick to one topic. He was all over the place! Really! He was really starting to regret his decision in not warning the hunter about these cookies...

"Nooope!" He quickly swiped the bag away from him before he could take another bite. "I think you've more than your fill. Maybe you should try eating some actual food. Y'know... something that won't give you cavities?"

Or something that won't make you this chatty...

Mischievous boys should be punished for feeding people suspicious cookies. Wilson’s expression looked akin to a teary puppy as his sweet treats were taken from him. “Ryan, what’re you talking about? It’s only just one bag, it isn’t much, honest! Actual food? Nah, I don’t feel like eating anything else because those cookies are really good and let me just tell you that I’ve never gotten a cavity. My mom’s really proud of that because a couple of my friends had to get their cavities filled and actually my mom thinks is kinda funny that even though I didn’t brush my teeth as much as she liked I still have perfect teeth. I didn’t even need to get braces! She was pretty impressed about that—“

Maybe it was time to head back to the dorms.

Ryan held his hands over his ears, trying to block out all the chatter that he could.

Ahh, this was a punishment alright!

"Wilson..." He started, trying to cut in. "Wilson..." He repeated, irritated when he had continued on. "WILSON!" He finally snapped. "I think, maybe an early bed is a good idea for you..." He said, climbing out form his seat and tugging lightly at Wilson's arm.

The sooner he slept this off, the better and the sooner he could go hunt for some pain killers.

He kept chattering and chattering, unmindful of the fact that Ryan was clearly frustrated with Wilson’s newly-gained talkativeness. Only when Ryan snapped did he actually shut up, the words on the tip of his tongue dissipating. Wilson politely listened, but as soon as Ryan ceased talking he took it as his cue to begin conversing again. “Bed? God, Ryan, I don’t feel tired at all! I’m just bursting with energy! Almost as if something exciting is going to happy tonight! But I dunno what. Oh, but are you going a bit tired? If that’s the case I guess we should leave, then. Wouldn’t want to have to carry you back to the dorms or something! But I wouldn’t mind that too much because we’re friends, right? Well, I think of you as my friend.”

Ryan tugged at Wilson’s arm and he obligingly slid off his seat. As usual, Wilson began to walk backwards again but…was he walking even faster?

"Yes well, maybe you could tone down the chatter... at least a little... You do know your talking a mile a minute, right?" He really hoped the affects of the cookies wouldn't last too long. Hopefully by tomorrow morning he'd be back to his usual--not as chatty self. The one that wouldn't give him a headache in under five minutes time.

"Yes we are friends and as your friend, I really think you need a nap or--something." He said, grumbling at the comment of having to be carried back. He was not so young that he'd pass out somewhere other than his room.

It only got worse. Not only did the cookies seem to have an affect on his need to talk, but he actually started walking faster---backwards!

"That bet is still in place, you know! Even if you are high on cookies!" He called after him and gave chase.
