Considering he'd now lost to Bix (twice), Before (Before, of all people), and now Marcus.

Marcus would have thrown the fight Gale, but not only was that saying in a d**k wa he didn't think you could do it, but what would the other hunter's say? Marcus still had his pride. Even if he yelped as his foot was hit and he jumped in the air for a second.
Scowling at the shot, he went after Gale's foot. Vengeance.

Clearly the foot thing had been a bad idea.
And Gale wasn't entirely sure why.

He used that foot Gale. Just like he used his face. And his hands. He needed that foot, please do not hurt his foot. (Well don't hurt in general). Anyway, at the ice bullets missed, (OH THANK GOD), Marcus went in for another strike, missing this time.

This fight was not going well.
But at least Marcus' next strike towards him missed Gale by inches.
Instead of using the rifle to shoot this time, he gripped it by the barrel with one hand and spun it around to smack the butt of the rifle into Marcus' side.

Apparently rifle butts loved Marcus. They loved Marcus a lot. Sort of how his sword love Gale's arms.

"Ow," said Gale, lifting the rifle again, this time with slower movements.
Then he wondered if hitting with the rifle was a much more effective way of fighting Marcus in particular.
So he tried it again.

It was super effective.
Marcus was left making a strangled cry as paid shot up his side. The actual gun hurt more than the bullets! Oh god why?

Considering how effective the blunt end of the gun was, it was a bit better than the bullets.
At least he wouldn't worry about welts. Still, with he free hand, he went to sock Gale in the gut. Blunt force for blunt force after all.

Okay, that rather hurt.
Clearly the hand-to-hand combat was much more effective than actually using their weapons - at least, for the time being.
Or, at least, hand-to-gun, since, while bent over gasping for breath, Gale used the butt of the rifle to slam into Marcus' leg.

With a cry of fury, Marcus put all his strength in to his next blow, going for a sock into Gale's gut again. As soon as he did, he regret it. It didn't take a genius to realize he'd simply hit too hard. "s**t."

Poor Gale. Poor Gale poor Gale poor Gale. He just wasn't getting a break now was he? Sighing Marcus couldn't just.. leave him like this... Plus he looked like he might need some bandages. Once more, piggy backing was taking placing, and Gale was taken to the infirmary by a tire moon trainee who swore up and down he hadn't done anything wrong.
Gale asked for it after all.
