Bix was sort of looking forward to it now, the fight. He'd only battled Gale before and then, of course, the Halloweeners. The hunter turned a little pink when she commented on questions about him. He suddenly became stuttery and stepped on a crack in the sidewalk that made him stumble.

You never learn about women, do you?

"I uh.. about me?" Oh thank god she was joking and moved on. He willed away the flush on his cheeks and ran his hand through his bangs. "Yeah we fought them. We actually went there, where they live, for a mission once. It's really strange."

You are strange.

"Well most of the time they look like teenagers. Weird looking, scary teenagers. They live somewhere called Halloween and they go to a school called Amityville. There's zombie teenagers and monsters.. and ghosts.. one girl had half a face." It sounded like a comic book or something. "And they act like people. They have like proms and student council elections and stuff.. on our last mission they said they were on a 'field trip'. But then they started turning into things.. I guess maybe their real forms? Giant beasts and wolves and horses.." He remembered the kelpie, Calder, who was so staunchly defending his friends. The memory made his mouth harden into a line. "Anyway.. their whole realm is Halloween but we seem to be infiltrating this particular school. Maybe that's important but they haven't told us."

"Yeah kinda like that actually." Bix looked at his feet. "But they are no joke and they are vicious. So they are fueled by FEAR.. that is to say the emotion fear is also a tangible power. Our fears, humans, fuel them, feed them and power them. It's their like.. life force. You actually can't go to Halloween unless you use a golem because our bodies can't handle the uhh.. FEAR-y atmosphere. So we can't be afraid or it makes them stronger. Remember that." He gave her a serious look. Memories of their last mission were fresh and it was enough to make Bix very serious about his job all of a sudden.

"But we are special." He smiled reassuringly at her. "Because all of us in some way questioned or saw a little too much? That's what they told us, anyway. That's how we got picked." He tilted his head at her. "Did you see things?"

Bix nodded as she talked about her home a little. "I was from a small town too. Out in the boonies, everyone owned a truck and a gun." He chuckled because he knew that he didn't look the type and essentially, he was really only half that person. You could only escape how you are raised so much. The computer nerd Bix still liked guns and trucks.. he couldn't help it!

"That sounds fair.. " He agreed until she interjected the last bit. This made him turn pink and stammer slightly. "Not much to ask.. I mean only been here a little.. everyone is busy.. Phhhhhhhhhhhhhhhewww." That was the sound of him stopping, and blowing his bangs from his eyes. He wished he didn't get so weird around girls sometimes!!

Mina, once more, hysterically laughed at him in his head.

There were coming up on the training fields now. There were dummies lining each side and here and there a white coated hunter did any variety of attacks on the dummies or eachother. There were more types of weapons that you could count.

"Here we are.."

"Why don't you try your weapon out on a dummy first. And I will take a few shots. And then we can spar." Bix nodded and lined himself up with a dummy. Of course he had to stand a ways back from it in order to fire his arrows.

"I will give you the basics though." He sort of demonstrated as he spoke. "So our weapons used to be Halloween creatures. So they feed on FEAR and are made of FEAR.. I think." Was that right? "So every time you hit something that's full of FEAR, your weapon charges up."

As Bix lifted his bow Evie may notice he had no arrows on him at all. he was holding a small red marble in his hand and when he drew it across the bow, a red energy arrow formed. The energy pulsed lightly, small tendrils of power licking off of it while he found the target.

He let the arrow fly and missed, it buried itself into the grass but soon dissipated and left nothing but a small scorch mark and puncture wound.
"Well okay.. that sucked." he was pink cheeked again.

"Anyway.. when you hit the dummy, you won't get a charge because it's just a dummy. If you hit another hunter, or a halloween creature.. you WILL get a charge."

[[ Bix missed the dummy ;_; ]]

"Nice hit though.." Bix chuckled as she fell on her butt. He shuffled like he was going to go help her up but something in his brain said to leave it be. She was a fighter now and had to take her hits.

"What about the other end? Does it shoot anything or.. umm I dunno.. It just looks like a magic wand." Perhaps she could try?

He took another shot at his dummy, forming another arrow and letting it fly. This time it was on target, hitting the body form in the shoulder. It buried halfway before dissipating once again.

"There we go.." He rolled his shoulders a bit and stretched his arms. "A couple more hits and then we can spar and you can see about the FEAR shield and charge attack." He nodded.

Bix felt warm enough for a sparring session. He didn't need to fire again. He watched as Evie lunged with her staff-thinger, jewel end up but then watched as she stopped. It took a good second for him to realize that her weapon was probably talking to her.

"You want to spar?" Was she ready? He knew that she probably wanted to see what her charged move was.

"You never know. You might have a knack for it. Your weapon should help too."

Bix backed up, moving away from the dummies to a more open area.
