Robert Cousland
It had been just a couple years since the Darkspawn had wiped out a good majority of Southern Ferelden, but the once quiet village of Lothering was slowly getting back on it's feet. A group of worker was busy rebuilding one of the walls near the Imperial Way road, among them, a familiar brunette young man was busy laying mortar for bricks, sweat dripping down his brow. He heard his name in the distance, several women bringing the men drinks to cool off, "Lord Cousland!" The woman calling him had a bit off an obsession with him, but he tried not to get her hopes up. Once Lothering was rebuilt he would move on to another area to help the rebuilding process. Anything to be away from Fergus. 'Fergus...' He thought, 'I'm sure he's furious with me... Not coming home to Highever, but... There's nothing there... It'll never be better with just the two of us...' He accept the cup his stalker had brought him, a false smile on his face as his took a drink.
'I wonder when the others will show... We could use the hands for sure.' "Lord Cousland, are you alright?" One of the other men had noticed him, lost in thought. With a grin on his face he nodded, "I'm fine. And I keep telling you guys. I'm no lord any longer. It's just Robert, or preferably Rob." The man nodded as they returned to work.
"What could I say to him? I'm the reason we're the only ones of our family left..."

 •• Rhyn Mahariel •• •• The Tainted Dalish ••
The Dalish Warden & The Elúvian Survivor Ooc ; '' All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; '' The journey had been long. She'd been from Denerim, to Starkhaven, to The Anderfels and back. And now, back to Lothering.. She'd followed her brethren for so long, she felt it wrong not to walk in their footsteps once more. But, duty called, as it were. And Rhyn wasn't one to shy away from it. Those Darkspawn bastards and their taint are what began this thing in the first place.
'' The Road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began... '' She hummed the tune, slowly loosening the rails to make the Halla of her cart move. '' Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can. '' She kept her hood up while travelling across the Imperial Highway. It'd ben repaired since the Blight, but it still wasn't exactly.. Smooth. Either way, she was on her way to Lothering to meet up with everyone else. It'd... Been a while. '' The old that is strong does not wither, For you see, deep roots are not touched by frost. ''

Lothering greeted her like the rain greeted the desert. After a long journey of travelling along a caravan that had been constantly besieged by bandits, it was nice to know she was getting some rest. The Dwarf looked around at the busy Humans, all scurrying like ants to rebuild the village. She had to admit it looked a lot better. Last time... She remembered arriving at a village completely destroyed and burned down by darkspawn. She had arrived too late it seemed. Too late to join the other Wardens, too late to save a village. It seemed she was destined to suffer from bad timing.
Really the only thing that kept pushing her was the promise she made to her sister. 'Oh Rica, has it really been 3 years?' She knew she would have to stop stalling one day and see her. Her last letter from a year ago claimed she landed a rich man and had a son. But she couldn't return yet. She has missed helping out the hero of Ferelden. She had to do something honorable first.
She casually walked past the group making bricks and wondered if there was still room in the local inn. It better not cost a lot - despite having made more money in a few months on the surface than in years in Orzammar, she would never part with more silver than she needed to.

Just as he went to grab another brick to add to the section he was working on, Rob noticed a familiar sight. A rather welcome one at that. Getting up, he let out a whistle, wiping the sweat from his face on a handkerchief in his pocket, "Elsa, is that you?" He jogged over to the woman, smiling, "Still trying to contradict your nature as much as ever?" He referred to how she was always in her heavy armor, sporting a good sized ax, yet had always be the one to lighten the mood after what happened in Ostagar. Kneeling he hugged the armored woman, "Maker, Elsa, you're a sight for sore eyes. I was beginning to believe no one else was coming. Is it just you? Did you see anyone else on the road?" He knew he was rambling, but he hadn't seen any of the others in quite a while.
"What could I say to him? I'm the reason we're the only ones of our family left..."

Diyanna Surana From the Fade I strike, To harm or to heal...
Diyanna walked down the center of the road from Denerim to Lothering, a bleak look on her face. She paid little mind to her surrounds, though her faithful Mabari Blitz was keeping guard for her.
Duty... it's always bloody Duty...
Her heart was heavy and her mind distracted. Once again Duty pulled her from Court, and this time she didn't think she'd be returning. Duty said the King of Fereldan needed to secure an heir to the Throne. Duty said the King couldn't marry an elf.. or a Mage.. and Duty wouldn't let the all too honorable King of Fereldan dally with a woman while married to another.
So with the announcement of the engagement of the King to a Navarran Princess that was the end of their relationship. Their 'dalliance' Eamon had called it, making it sound so dirty. As if he hadn't been her first, and her only.
A single tear rolled down her cheek, which she didn't bother to brush away. Who was there to witness it, other than her dog, who'd seen her cry before. "I suppose I knew it was damned from the start," she said, putting her hand on Blitz's haunches as she topped a hill, Lothering visible in the distance. "I should have expected the hurt. I miss Wynne, and her counsel."
Blitz barked, licking her hand. He could smell old companions on the wind. Companions he wanted to play with.
"I know boy. I want to see them too," she said. Perhaps the others, her fellow Recruits, would help her get over her broken heart.

 •• Rhyn Mahariel •• •• The Tainted Dalish ••
The Dalish Warden & The Elúvian Survivor Ooc ; '' All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; '' Her humm slowly came to a halt as the cart soon came in vision of a girl and her Mabari, in the distance. What an odd sight they made. But, as the cart grew closer, Rhyn's eyes squinted. Was that ? It was. It was Diyanna. However... Being the practical Joker that Rhyn was, she kept her hood high, and slowed the cart slightly beside her. Tuning her voice slightly, she made it so it was deeper, and sounded like an old woman.
'' Ho-hoho. What is a young filly like your self, doing so far out here ? '' She asked, moving the Halla slowly so that they'd match the pace of the girl. Although, it was pretty strange. The Halla gave it away that it was definately a Dalish Elf driving the cart. '' Surely you don't intend to walk the entire way, m'deary. Hop on this ol' cart here, i'm headin' to Lotherin' myself. '' her acting skills were good, and her driving skills; better. She couldn't wait to show Diyanna who it really was underneath the hood. Well, that was if Blitz didn't sniff her out first ! Diyanna Surana From the Fade I strike, To harm or to heal...
"Hmm.. oh," she said, drawn out of her thoughts. ".. Thank you. A ride would be welcome, though I fear I won't be much good for conversation," she said softly. The tear was still glistening on her cheek, though she gave the woman a small smile. ".. If you don't mind. I promise my Mabari will not harm your Halla, isn't that right Blitz?"
Blitz, who'd been sniffing at the Halla's hind quarters backed off, the picture of canine innocence."

 •• Rhyn Mahariel •• •• The Tainted Dalish ••
The Dalish Warden & The Elúvian Survivor Ooc ; '' All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; '' The ' old woman ' nodded, and pulled on her Halla's reins to stop them from fretting. Allowing Diyanna and her pet to get onto the Cart, Rhyn clicked her teeth and pulled the reins slightly to get them moving once more. They weren't running, but still going at quite the fast pace. Darkness was rapidly approaching, and though it was nice at night, it'd also be nice to have a warm, clean bed for once. And, once they were there... Boy, did Diyanna have something in store for her.
They were soon approaching the small hamlet of Lothering, just as the sun was beggining to set in the sky. People were still working, however. Good, honest work. It actually warmed a spot in Rhyn's heart. But only for a moment. Work was work, no doubt about it. If it's hard, she won't be doing it ! '' Well, me deary. We're almost there. You and your lil' Mabari there be holdin' tight. '' '' The old that is strong does not wither, For you see, deep roots are not touched by frost. ''

Certain his dwarven companion was exhausted, he handed her one of the keys for the rooms he'd reserved. Luckily for him, the innkeeper's daughter was his stalker, so he got a decent rate for himself and his companions. "We'll talk later, get settled and we'll meet at dinner." He hugged Elsa again, turning to the workers, "I gotta help these guys clean up for the night." He went back to his spot, watching a cart coming up the road as he cleaned up his gear.
"What could I say to him? I'm the reason we're the only ones of our family left..."

((Eh, sorry for the late reply! xD Timezones suck.)) Elsa had to blink a few times to believe it. But there was Robert Cousland alright. She wouldn't have been more surprised if the Archdemon had shown up.
"By the Paragons lad, you were the last person I expect here!" He gave her a warm embrace and she accepted it, smiling. She usually didn't let people even get close to her 'comfort circle' but it was not like they were strangers.
"I haven't seen the others yet. Not sure if they'll be here. I hope so though."
She gladly accepted the key from him, knowing he'd struck another deal with some bonny lass. Ah yes, a soft bed and a warm meal - there were times she'd make deals with demons for that. Luckily all it took now was a rogue with a sly tongue and a nice hairstyle.
"Alright then. Don't you get into trouble now. I'll be too busy gorging on pig meat to save your hide!" She heartily laughed and waved as she walked to the inn.
She stepped into the wooden inn, not bothering to look at its name and sat at the nearest table. "Good sir, I require a mug of ale and none of your cheap stuff!"

Diyanna Surana From the Fade I strike, To harm or to heal...
".. Thank you for the ride," she said in the small voice she reserved for strangers. ".. If you would drop us off at the Chantry.. I need to deliver something to the Revered Mother." She bit her lip. She wanted to forget the promises she'd made and the tasks she'd been assigned. She wanted to down a few tankards of wine and try to sleep. But... Duty calls...
She knew the Dalish wouldn't take the money of the realm, so she opened her pack to find something to repay the woman for her kindness. She had some roots and herbs for potion making, maybe she'd take those.

The Dalish Warden & The Elúvian Survivor Ooc ; '' All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; '' '' You really don't know me at all, do you Diyanna ? After all these years ! '' She exclaimed, chuckling. Moving her Cart to a halt next to the workers, she pulled her hood down to reveal her face: and who she was. Laughing, she knew Diyanna might've slapped her for the whole joke, but it was damn-well worth it. And, hey, Rhyn wasn't one to take herbs off a lonely traveller. Money, however... - Only joking. Atleast, not from her friends, anyway.
Continuing to giggle, turned her gaze around the area after hearing all the workers talk about what a strange bunch were beggining to enter the area. Raising her eyebrow in a smirk, she noticed something familiar about one of the workers. Strange... '' The old that is strong does not wither, For you see, deep roots are not touched by frost. ''

Seeing the cart stop next to the workers near him, Rob wiped the sweat and dirt off his face, having cleaned up his gear, ready to join the first of his companions for a pint. As he stood up however he had a different plan, seeing a familiar bow in the cart, as a vaguely familiar mage and... Mabari! Without a doubt, Rob knew who all was in the cart, walking over, "Rhyn, Diyanna? What took you so long!" Rob ran to the back of the cart to help Diyanna down, only to be met by the slobbering face of Blitz, "Hey buddy. Don't worry you'll see Gwen soon." He looked up at Diyanna, "If I'd know you guys were traveling together I would have stopped worrying so much." Rob turned his gaze to Rhyn, "Glad to see the other two of my three favorite girls finally show up. Elsa just showed up a little before you."
Looking around the cart he realized something was missing, "Aeducan and Amell traveled separate then? Shame, I was really hoping we'd all be here. Like I told Elsa, the hands would be a huge help, especially Aeducan's." Rob grinned, trying to push back the thoughts of sorrow that had plagued him earlier. He was with friends now, and his brother could wait till he was ready to return.
"What could I say to him? I'm the reason we're the only ones of our family left..."

The Dalish Warden & The Elúvian Survivor Ooc ; '' All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; '' '' Flatterer. '' She huffed, climbing down from the cart herself. Moving around the Halla, she gave them a good pat to tell them how good they'd been. Nodding to them both, she began to take them around the Inn, to the stables at the back.
'' I'll see you both in the Inn ! '' She exclaimed before finally reering them around to the Stables. After she'd done locking them in, she went in the backway inot the Inn, only to find her favourite Dwarf sitting there, at the table. Sipping a well-earnt pint. Spreading her arms open wide, she exclaimed in a feat of happiness. '' Elsa, my girl ! '' '' The old that is strong does not wither, For you see, deep roots are not touched by frost. ''
