"Yeah, I've never been to town," She admitted with a shake of her head, wondering if she should feel embarrassed about it or if it was normal for someone who grew up in the suburbs to stay there, "The closest I've ever been to a town is school, but Mot told me he was coming home for a bit after the exam, so I figured I would take this chance to visit him and go sightseeing! It's so different from where I grew up..."
Her voice trailed away as she followed after Roch, looking at the things he was looking at curiously, wondering what sort of clothing he would go for; it was different from Mot's sense of fashion for sure.
"It was a little far," She nodded in agreement as she looked through some shirts, specifically looking for something... 'Dancing taco' was it? She pulled out one, tilting her head before looking hopeful; she actually kind of liked these odd shirts, not that she would ever be caught dead wearing one outside of her own room, "But so worth the trip! I had fun yesterday! This part of town is more of a... Mixed area. I have to admit that the street Mot's house was located was full of reapers though... It's a new experience for me."

"Yeah, hell, it's a new experience for me, too," he said blandly. "You know, though," he went on as he pulled out a pair of pants and checked the size. "I think we gotta talk about something, something important."
He put the pants back and turned to look at her. "What was it that my old man said about ghouls to you? He did, didn't he? He's way too interested in my love life... or lack thereof."

"Something important?" She echoed, a little baffled at what Roch was trying to say, "Um, he said that... You know a lot of ghouls?" She paused, trying to recall what exactly she had heard earlier before shaking her head, still looking as confused as ever.
"Something about Amrita and... You have a picture of Xiu in your phone?" There was something about the way she said the last part that asked the boil to explain himself; it was almost like she was waiting for an explanation from him before she jumped to any crazy conclusions and start accusing him of things.

Roch dug out his phone, walking over to show her the extremely innocent picture of the baku that showed up as he logged on. "Yeah," he said, looking at it for a long moment before bringing up the controls and the delete button. He showed it to her, then pushed it. "I'm gettin' over a crush," he said simply as he shoved it into his vest again.
Ouch, that had hurt. He ignored it. "You know, it's really hard gettin' over it, though," he admitted, going back to shopping. "She's nice... I mean, like, super nice, goin' to all sorts of lengths for her friends, including me. You know, Lizzy, sometimes the cruelest thing to do to a guy is be kind to them. And I can't even tell her that, cuz it'll hurt her feelings."
He snorted, pulling out a bigger sized version of the pants he'd pulled out earlier.

"Xiu mentioned something to me," She admitted softly, seemingly satisfied with Roch's 'explanation' before she went silent for a bit, her fingers brushing along the fabric of the clothing on the racks, "It's not easy to get over someone... But sometimes it's for the best." She was speaking from experience, her eyes seemed rather vacant as she sighed before shrugging, like she was trying to shrug the bad feelings away.
"You can't stop someone from being themselves," She looked thoughtful at his comment, pausing to look up at him, "Not everyone is lucky enough to be with their crush, but... If you care about someone, you care about someone, regardless of whether they reciprocate your feelings or not... And you continue to care for them in your own little way. That's what I had learnt anyway..."
She pulled out a pair of jeans, way too long for herself of course, but would probably fit Roch, before holding it up towards the boil with a questioning look; too mainstream? Too small? Just right?

"Not enough pockets," he said. "And you're right, you do gotta let them be them. But... you'd sort of hope they'd realize that there's certain boundaries. Like, if they got another guy, you would hope they wouldn't go some hundred miles across Halloween just to spend a day with you, or something." He looked at her, a little smirk pulling at his lips that didn't match the cool look in his silver eyes.
"As an example, that is."

"Awww," She pouted before putting it back and going through the rack again, pausing at Roch's comment; why did she get the feeling that he was trying to tell her something? She frowned, eyeing the look on the boil's face before she blinked, "Wait- Wait, what? I mean... What are you trying to say?"
That example sounded like what she did for Mot...

"Does your boilfriend know you're here?" he asked quietly. "Because Mot's my best bro, and he never mentioned you comin' out here to go on a day long date with him. Then again, we don't always talk about stuff like that. But you do with your boilfriend, right?"
Suddenly, just a little, Roch's tough, dangerous looking exterior seemed to fit the boil inside.

"Of course he does! I told him because I didn't want him to get worried about where I could be," She frowned, wondering what Roch was trying to get at; she was starting to feel a little uncomfortable with the topic... Normally, she could go on and on and on about Mac, but she hardly knew Roch!
"Mot's a really good friend of mine, and I consider him a best friend," Her frown deepened, "What's wrong with wanting to spend a day out with a good friend?"

"A best friend," he repeated quietly. "You really think of him as a best friend..." He snorted, then shook his head, looking coldly amused as he turned to stare at her. "You know, I really can't say anything. I had to have Hel point it out to me. But I'm a guy. I'm stupid when it comes to that sort of stuff. Except, when it was pointed out to me, it was just so freakin' obvious..."
He moved a step closer, towering over her. "You have no freakin' clue how Mot feels. Can you really claim to be his 'best friend' when you don't even know something this important? Can you really say there's nothing wrong in what you're doing?"

Lizzy stood her ground even as the much taller boil advanced, her eyes never leaving Roch as she paused, "What do you mean? And you... Don't beat around the bush if it's that important. Is there something about Mot that I should know?" She sounded a little agitated, but mostly worried; was Mot keeping something from her?

"It isn't something I can tell you," Roch said with a hint of frustration. "Trust me, if I could I would. But the people--the ghouls at this school, I don't get them at all. They just slap titles on people without thinking whether they WANT them. And then they just happily leave them in a little box with that label over their heads, never checking to see if the other person even wants to stay there. Xiu's 'aniki' for one. You really think a guy like that volunteered for the position?"
Sure he'd taken to it, but Shun didn't strike him as the type of guy to go offering himself up as someone's brother... EVER.
"You know, I jackin' HATE ghosts, but I've been workin' my a** off to get to know a few of them, to learn about them instead of labeling them all as the same types of jacktards that stuck me in that jackin' well and covered it! Don't you think you owe Mot at least that much? Pay attention to HIM not to the 'best friend' label you've slapped on him, just once."

"You're being horribly cryptic," Her frown had deepened even more, and her face was crumpled together as she became deep in thought, "I didn't slap a label on Mot - I asked him to be my big brother over the break and he happily agreed. I told him that he was one of my best friends and he didn't object to it - Shun's case was different... He's Shun." That was clearly meant to be self-explanatory.
"Your prejudice has nothing to do with this, the way I see it," She was getting frustrated as well, although she was trying her best not to show it; was there something wrong with Mot? Did she miss something? But he looked so normal when they met up! She paused, trying to find any indication of Mot acting weird, only to come up with nothing, "I do pay attention to him! You have no right to think that I don't..."
That thought hurt - that she wasn't paying attention to the cowboil. That she might had been thoughtless. That she might had overlooked his feelings... And she winced, her eyes glazing over. Great - another reaper boil who could make her cry. Just great.
"Just... Stop making assumptions," She continued, frustration creeping into her voice, "I'll talk to Mot when he's back in school since you can't tell me what's wrong with him. Look - if I had overlooked Mot's feelings somehow, in any way, I can swear-" And she hated swearing in any form, "That I did not mean to."

"He... agreed," Roch repeated, ignoring her rants for a moment as his mind got stuck on that statement. "What a jackin' moron," he muttered, face palming. Wait, he thought. His prejudice? She had just called his ghost problem a jacking prejudice? His eyes narrowed on her. A prejudice was something blind, something without reason. He had a jacking good reason to hate ghosts.
Oh, was she close to tears? Hah. He wasn't feeling guilty at all, and he didn't even care if she told Mot or even Xiu about this conversation. He still felt this was dirty pool. Coming this far? Just giving Mot false hope? Leading him on? And not even realizing what she was doing--
He shook his head. "No," he said quietly. "I'm sure you didn't. I'm done," he said, grabbing the pants he'd picked out.

"Good," Her voice was barely a whisper as she looked down and turned around, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. Unreasonable... Why beat her up verbally and mentally when he can't even tell her how to help? There was nothing for her to work with and if Mot was in any way, trying to hide something from her, what should she do? Tell him that Roch said something and then forced him to spill the beans?
She paused, inhaling sharply, trying to keep her voice from shaking, "Thank you for being such a good friend to Mot... I'll keep your words in mind."
