Emma was not making a fool of herself. It was perfectly understandable that she wouldn't be familiar with the fine details of the wizarding world. Unfortunately, she was speaking with a condescending pureblood, and he was not so understanding! Of course, Jasper would not say it outright... but he scoffed to himself, glancing away.
Muggles!
"I suppose it's difficult if you have not been around magic your whole life..." Jasper said, closing his eyes and taking a quiet breath. "Honestly, I do not understand muggle technology... Why on Earth would you want to do so many things at one time? If you are not focused on the duel at hand, you are bound to be disarmed, after all..."

Emma saw him glance away and heard him scoff making her bite her cheek. "It's hard not to hard with different windows or Tabs... but I don't think dueling has anything to do with it because your sitting down the whole time... but I don't like fighting, Clover's a little bit of a different story, She goes to school here too." she said looking down.
"Each person only has so long to live." she said a slight sadness to her voice but she looked back up and smiled sweaty,"I think it's pointless to spend it fighting and hurting someone." she looked at him "I'm sorry for making you confused." she added still smiling her little smile.

Jasper raised a brow in Emma's direction. The girl may have been in with muggles, but she at least seemed mature and intelligent. Even if he was wary of her Jasper had to give her credit for that.
"I was speaking metaphorically..." he said with a difficult smile. "Physical violence is so uncivilized~"

Emma looked over and smiled "Yeah... you know you almost speak like you are..." she stop trying to think of the wizard equivalent to the first class people but couldn't so just continued "In First Class. It's a muggle saying for rich people who don't have to work because they inherit it, or are famous... I don't know what the wizard term for it would be." she small nod.
"I don't mean it an a rude way, It means that you would get to do what ever you wanted... " she added with a small embarrassed chuckle. "I apologize if you thought I did." she said playing more with the ribbon on her wrist.

At first, Jasper's eyes narrowed at Emma. He wasn't sure what to make of this girl: was she insulting him? Or was she just being factual? Because he couldn't deny that it was the truth, and a truth that he was very proud of. But Jasper knew how condescending the less-privileged folk could be- jealousy his mother would tell him!
But Emma seemed genuine about her apology...
"Mmm... Yes, I suppose that is somewhat true... Although I do plan to work as well. I am not lazy~"

Emma nodded "Yeah, still get your chose of jobs, and don't always have to worry. I'm new to this world even the money is confusing. I feel more like the low class then I do working class." she said chuckling at herself a bit. "But I guess everyone starts off as first years."
The few classes she had taken so far where fascinating but still it was like a being put somewhere that you put on display. "Still you have the advantage. At least I'll learn about it." she said with a nod.

Jasper breathed a soft laugh, smiling faintly at Emma's commentary. It was strange to him that someone might know nothing about the wizarding world... Halfway, he wondered how he would fare if he were tossed into the muggle world...
But there was no need to be pondering such things! After all, he never intended to get involved in such dreadful affairs. Muggles...
"I am sure you will come to find it all the more fascinating... If you are meant for it, then you will get the hang of it~" Jasper said slyly, tilting his chin upward slightly.

Emma chuckled "Yeah I guess that is true." she said agreeing though she still felt a little tossed into a new world without a how-to book.
she looked around the room a bit then back at Jasper. "So uh like anything other then music?" she asked wanting to change the subject a bit.
