“As a general expectation, Lieutenants are expected to focus primarily on collecting energy. That means you will run into a great deal of senshi, weather you choose to fight them or avoid them becomes a matter of thought and careful consideration. I advise that you be sure you can at least defend yourself, there is no promise that anyone will be able to reach you before they do something terrible, I wish I could say otherwise but I can not.” He rubbed his thumb over the edge of the cup watching the small shiver of ripples it sent through his tea.
“But there are also other things, other venues that you may want to specialize in, many have sub divisions within the Negaverse, you’d meet others who share similar skills and interests, lean to interact with the other teams in order to strengthen us as a whole rather than dividing into more ridged structures. If you choose to join a team, I would look carefully at the leadership and the goals. We all work towards the greater good but our methods still vary, the unity and variety gives us strength I believe.”
The sword was harder to explain. “You should likely take classes to learn to use it, it may be something difficult to master but it’s a weapon that will likely be a theme for you, My own has progressed along a fairly clearly defined path, from a sling shot and small smoke pellets and onward. The why is harder to define, it’s like our uniforms. They reflect something about the people that wear them, though interpreting the reasons for that would require a great deal of personal knowledge, introspection beyond I think what most people care to bother with. Consider it a challenge, consider it something that will help you grow stronger, I learned how to fire a slingshot, something I had almost no talent for when I started, now I can aim quite well I like to think. Believe me too when I say there are far worse things to have than a wooden sword.”

"Energy? For what purpose?" But she liked this sympathetic side to Zac. It reminded her that one could still be human even in a war. "I understand." She quietly reassured him. She more than most knew the drastic consequences that one encountered if they were unprepared. "Don't worry. I have no intention of being caught unaware." Although she was smiling, the emotions that should have been there were replaced by a distant and faintly sad smile.
When they spoke of her weapon, she let Zac's words remain in the air. They reflect something about the people that wear them. Put in those words, Lacie could almost believe that her weapon was fated for her. But she wasn't yet that naive. "I shall take your word for it. After all, you are my precious superior." She reached out for him, her slim fingers lightly touching his collar. She brought her face a little closer, giving him a flirtatious smile. "Shall I refill your tea Master?" Even amidst this tension, Lacie wanted to remind Zac that he was there to enjoy his experience. What sort of employee would Lacie be if she couldn't satisfy her customer?
"We really do have some wonderful meals or desserts if you'd like to try them." Although Lacie was an employee, her opinion of the food was sincere.

“Unlike the senshi, we do not draw our powers from whatever cause their star seeds to be so strange and alien. We need the energy to fuel the source of our own strength; the unwitting sacrifice people make of their energy is a vital cornerstone for us. Without it, the senshi might run rampant, not that they are wholly free of expecting sacrifice. I suppose that’s the most unsettling thing, is any time when we see open similarities between the sides of ‘Chaos and Order’. He gave a small shrug and then had to stifle a small laugh at being called ‘Master’ and ‘Precious’.
The flirtation was unsettling; he stiffened just a little at the familiar nature of the touch but didn’t jerk away as he might once have.
“I would love more tea, but I will let you pick the desert, I lack what I expect is your cultured palate for anything beyond tea.” He flashed her a thin white smile. He hoped she wouldn’t be offended by what amounted to a very tense and nervous response to her flirtations even if they were in the name of ‘Duty’ for her.

"Please wait a moment." Lacie momentarily left the room, leaving Zac to enjoy the solitude of the private room. She conferred with the chef, and came back with a platter with a small basket on top. The small basket lined with a plaid napkin held several of their famed flavored scones. She also laid down plates and utensils for both of them. "Scones are enjoyable with tea, are they not?" She looked to the male for confirmation, hoping that he would agree with her choice. "If these desserts are not to your taste, please feel free to tell me."
Taking the large teapot, she also refilled their empty cups with renewed, hot liquid. "And on our previous topic, I propose that we leave aside the explanations for a later time. Why don't we enjoy our tea for now?" Lacie had garnered enough information for today. She needed time to assimilate the information that she currently had at hand. It was a large change to her lifestyle after all.

“Ah! Thank you very much.” He did seem legitimately pleased with the treats offered. “I appreciate the thoughtfulness. Please, be sure to follow up with me if you have any other questions in regards to what I have told you.”
Having made sure he left the door open for her to ask more questions he sat back, and relaxed to enjoy the tea and deserts.
