Savage rolled his eyes. "My name is just my name. And the "Great Ones" can just deal with it." The male glowered at her as she glared before turning back toward the fruit. And there she went again about his nicknaming. She was such a strange, touchy thing. But it was a little interesting to see her stages of anger. Even a little attractive. Big Bad Aquaria trying to scare Poor Ol' Savage. Ha!

The stallion suddenly lifted his head with a quickness as he saw the approaching group. He was about to turn tail and run when Aquaria further enraged them. Dammit! The mare couldn't be that naive, could she? He snorted running toward her and standing between her and the group. "Run. I'll take care of them." He simply stated. When she didn't move, he pushed her away roughly until she finally bolted. Savage took a run leaping over the gate and rushing head long into the crowd. The humans clashed with the stallion as Savage reared and bucked. The fighting was fierce as he often leaped and rammed them. The male wasn't trying to kill them, but simply run them off. A few of their weapons caught his frame, but the adrenaline rush was still on high end. He felt one grab at his swinging chain and tug with a surprising strength. Savage immediately reared feeling the man swing in the air. The stallion danced on his hinds and dropped down on his fronts only to rear up again and swing the man along. The human finally dropped crashing into some of his fellows.

At this point, Savage was sure that Aquaria had made it safely. He turned and ran off from the bewildered humans who had only sought to protect their food supply. Savage looked for any signs of the mare's trail. At first he became lost, but when he caught her scent, he charged forward toward it. His muscles heaved, body and muscles aching like there was no tomorrow as he went into a small forested area. He could see where the brush was torn through as well as the tree limbs snagged off and hanging. Even a piece of yellow hair had been left clinging to a bush. Yup, she was here. Savage slowed to a trot following her trail until he came to a small clearing. Leaves were clumped together in a shaking pile in which the blue coloration of the mare would show through. Savage resisted the urge to laugh as he called out to her. "Pretty filly? You around? It's me. Y'know. Savage?" He tried to speak calmly walking toward her. The stallion didn't realize how spooked she really was. Poor girl.

Aquaria had stayed still watching the people charge. She was unsure of what to do. It was all happening too fast! And then out of nowhere, Savage came around. He told her to run, but Aquaria couldn't make her feet move. This was just too much for her. But she snapped out of it as soon as he touched her. Savage meant business, and she could see that in his eyes. The mare took a breath and then bolted not looking back after that.

She had tripped a little, her nerves were so shot at this point. She stood up quickly looking around just for some sort of cover. There was a small forested area. It was far, but she was sure she could make it. The mare bolted toward it feeling herself in a fear. She had never been so scared in her life! Aquaria swore she could feel the humans still chasing after her, hearing their screams. Her eyes closed as she tore through the forest never stopping and crashing into the brush and against trees. At one point, she tripped over a root and fell hard sliding against the rough ground. The mare squealed jumping back up and taking another run, but slower this time. Aquaria came to the clearing, her mane and tail a mess, her legs, chest, and side slightly scratched up, and her eyes wild. She looked around and then saw that a good amount of leaves had piled up here. The mare dove into them hoping that they would hide her.

It seemed like forever that she was there. Her eyes were shut tightly as she whimpered and shook. She wanted to cry! Oh why hadn't she listened to Savage? She was such a fool to keep coming back to that orchard. But the food was so good! It was an easy supply whenever she got hungry. Stupid, stupid, stupid! It was another thing she wasn't good at. Oh it was just a horrible experience and for all her knowing, Savage could be dead! In her thinking, she had caused everything that went wrong today. If he hadn't of met her he would still be--

Alive! As soon as she heard his footfalls and his voice, she peeked out from her hiding spot. He was alive! She stood up slowly shaking the leaves from her body though some still clung to her. She whimpered and trotted toward him immediately burying her face in his short mane and neck. Aquaria allowed herself to sob and shake. "I'm so sorry, Savage! I'm really sorry! It's my fault! I hope you're not hurt!" The mare wailed and sobbed burying herself deeper into him. Though he smelled terrible, his scent helped to calm her. He was alive and it wasn't her fault. It was something she could be happy about at least.

Aquaria's affection was one of surprise. Savage took the time to look over her as she sobbed to make sure she was all right. A few scratches and possible bruises, but he figured she'd be all right. Even her head wound, though it started to bleed again, was looking a little bit better. He snorted allowing her to fawn over him more for her own comfort rather than his. "It's fine, darlin'. Don't be so scared. I'm in one piece." He nudged her cheek a little stepping back so he could get a better look at her. "You seem worse for the wear." He chuckled a moment.

Savage made sure to look around. As of right now they were alone, but he figured it would be best to keep moving. The humans, as doubtful as he was, might still be tracking them. They were strange that way. As she slowly became calm, he realized how fast his own heart was beating - and how glad he was to know she was all right. He couldn't help but smile a little wondering if this was what it was like to have someone car for you. Strange. Even his parents weren't like this. Savage flicked his ears a little starting to become a little uncomfortable at how he was feeling. Especially about Aquaria.

"Hey..we should probably get going. I don't want to scare you anymore, but the humans might be around. We need to go." The stallion nudged her gently then started to head from the forest. He made sure she kept pace as they traveled through the forest. Savage led them from the forests as the sun started to set on the lands. They didn't have much longer to find a place to rest for the night. Since the traveling, Aquaria had kept close to the stallion with her head held down with little sniffling. Savage looked over at her a few times nudging her cheek and checking on her head. "You're doing well, baby doll. We'll find a place soon. And I'll be here." Savage nudged her cheek feeling that awkward feeling of wanting to take care of her. His tail flicked as he began thinking for a few moments. Did he really want to get that far with this mare?

Savage sighed for a moment. They soon came across a pool of water. He looked around for a moment before taking a cool drink. His eyes surveyed the area for a brief moment before looking back at Aquaria. "I'm sure we can rest here for the night. I don't really see anyone here." He continued to watch her carefully as he started grazing feeling the hunger catch on. As beat up as Savage was, he didn't feel all too badly. He was used to the exertion of fighting and the pain. But that didn't mean he wouldn't be sore later on.

She looked up at him whimpering all the same. Her eyes were puffy from the tears, but she was too hyped up to calm herself down. Even as Savage spoke to her, she couldn't help but bawl out all over again. The day had been a crappy one to start with, and she was always making things worse on herself. Aquaria shivered and snorted and sniffed as he tried to calm her again. She probably guessed that she would be a hot mess at this moment. And who could blame her? She hadn't exactly taken care of herself lately.

It was strange how she was feeling about Savage at the moment. That he was still here after all this time. He even leaped in to defend her. And yet, in the beginning, he was chiding her and arguing with her. Making comments to piss her off on purpose. Even not even using her name - which he still wasn't by the by - but he was a decent male. Strong, free-willed, independent...everything she wasn't. At all. It made her a little upset that she was nothing like this male. Nothing at all. But then again what could she do? Aquaria didn't know who else to be but herself which was getting them in a heap of a mess half the time. She began to wonder if there was a particular reason she was around him so much.

As he spoke, she jumped a little looking over at him. Aquaria kept her calm this time realizing that he had made sense. She took a breath and then nodded grateful for his patience and concern. They traveled forward in silence as Aquaria still couldn't control her tears just as yet. She let herself whimper at a time and even tried to keep close to him as they traveled. She was a little surprised that he was taking up for her so much. His words were even a little more gentle and soothing this time around. The fact that he said he would still be here with her also made things a lot more better. He really wasn't a savage at all...

As they came to the clearing, she all but threw herself at the water. The drink was so fresh and cool. It made everything feel better. She even washed her face a little thankful for such of the luck they found. Strange how their luck was always either up or down it seemed. Aquaria watched Savage as he went about grazing and the decision to stay for the night. She thought a moment before finally speaking in a milder tone. "Yes. Here isn't so bad. It's far away enough. And I'm sure we'll find something to eat." The mare quietly began to graze beside him as the sun starting making its final descent leaving its throne to the moon whose minions had quickly gobbled up the light for their master. Aquaria looked upward for a moment before back to Savage. "Why did you stay and help?" The mare suddenly asked becoming quite interested in his answer. She couldn't help it. He could have ran and she never saw him again. "That's the second time you saved me.."

The male was glad when she started speaking again. He wasn't sure what else he would do if she continued to be in her downward spiral. Savage was glad that she wasn't beating herself up. Well, at least verbally. He was sure that maybe she did that on the walk over, but at least she seemed to be almost back to normal. He grinned as he grazed knowing that even though the food they ate got them in trouble, she was still thinking about food.

It was her question that caught him off guard. He almost choked on the grass he chewed in his mouth. Savage immediately went to take a long drink of water as he tried to think up of some answers. His ears flicked back then forward as he raised his head to study her carefully. "Well..it's one thing to save you from your own stupidity, gal. It's another to save you from maddened humans." Savage was just trying to find a reason for his actions himself. He did vow that he wouldn't help anyone else, and there he went fighting on her behalf. What was he, some sort of improper knight? He sighed a little gazing at her with interest. He came forward slowly finding her gaze - her eyes. He got lost in them again.

"Aquaria, I stay because I want to." He realized it was the first time he said her name. But it flowed off his tongue too naturally. Too well. However, he didn't feel too terrible one bit as he then leaned forward nudging his snout against hers before giving her a gentle lick on the chin and then the cheek. Savage felt comfortable with her. A lot more comfortable than anyone else he ever met. The stallion slipped closer to the mare leaning his head against her neck taking in her scent. She smelled wonderful. He couldn't really describe her scent, but it overpowered his senses. This mare had captivated him for a while now. It was strange how that over a day he could consider becoming close to someone. He didn't know whether it was because of the day's events or possibly just because of his own primal needs, but Savage couldn't really answer himself. All he knew was that this mare was here, and he was comfortable with her presence. In a sense he felt safe.

Aquaria grazed quietly for a few moments longer allowing him to ponder the question. Strange as it may be, she was hoping that he wouldn't be too much of a jerk about it. Not that she didn't deserve it, but she didn't need another failure rubbed in her face. His kindness was still something that surprised her about him as rough as he made himself out to be.

When he finally answered, she didn't know whether to hit him or feel a little relieved. Sure her first accident was her own fault for freaking out, but he didn't have to be so hung up on it. However, she agreed about the humans. In most of her mind, humans on the Floating Isles loved azrein. There was at least one point where some humans had orchards out for azrein all the time, hence why she kept going back to that particular spot. Aquaria began to wonder why on earth they would be so cruel to her? She didn't look like any other creature, she was sure of it. "Well...I suppose I should thank you again anyway." Her gaze met his and then that awkward feeling came back. It was the one where she didn't know why she wanted to hang around him in the first place.

It was while she was thinking that he crept forward. They were close now as he gazed into her eyes. She, at first, felt a little strange being this close to him. And then all of a sudden, she felt..whole. At peace even. Her golden eyes fell into his dark ones. She never realized that they were a mix of blue and green..almost gray. They were filled with nothing and yet everything. Her name from his mouth sounded too sweet to be true. The way he pronounced it just sent chills down her spine. His kisses were quite feral however, but they were her first. No male had ever shown interest in her like this before. It was a strange..unnatural..but she welcomed it. Her eyes closed as she took him in: his scent, his touch, his voice. Aquaria risked nipping his bitten ear hearing the reactive snort from him.

"Savage...I..." Well hell this was awkward. He was here and she was with him and they were in this strange embrace that she was feeling all too comfortable in. She looked up at the stars as if pleading for an answer wondering what her mother would think if the elder mare were here. Aquaria closed her eyes again gathering what little courage she had. "Savage..you've saved me twice over the course of this day...and I'm not sure why, but I've grown quite fond of you. Very fond of you." Her words were spilling from her mouth as her head resting on his neck, her nostrils breathing in the husk scent of male. Her body grew warm at the very thought of him being this close to her. Maybe even closer. "Will you...Will you lay with me this night?" Aquaria took her head away so she could see him better, look into his eyes and see his reaction. She wondered if he would honor her. Make her feel safe. Aquaria was smart enough to know that he could easily leave in the morning, but part of her was wishing he would stay. And yet again part of her just wanted him. Even if it was just once.

At first he was afraid that he had gone too far. He did indeed disrupt her personal space and was still clinging to her much like a yearning foal. Savage was about to pull away when she suddenly returned his affections. He let out the breath that he didn't even know he was holding as she nipped his damaged ear. His tail flicked a little in response to her mouth nibbling against his skin. He simply rested his head on her neck closing his eyes and listening to her faint heart beat. Her neck was so fragile, and yet she felt so strong. His nose ring gently bumped against her skin which quivered as a response to the cool metal. His collar was pressed up against her neck and chest he soon realized, and wondered if it was uncomfortable for her. Yet she had said nothing yet as they kept close in this quiet embrace.

"You're welcome. Again." He chuckled in teasing tones. Savage lifted his head up to n** at her ear, his nose brushing against her forehead and went through her bangs and mane. It was soft against his snout and as he took in her scent, it made his blood boil with a certain desire. Savage had found a little haven in this crazy mare that believed in her strange 'Great Ones'. Maybe he'd have to ask her about it sometime.

When she spoke, he hesitated touching her anymore. He pulled away a little only to look at her face which her eyes were closed. Was she having second thoughts about the strangeness and forwardness of his actions? He might as well just apologize right then and there until she said something again. He gave her a bit of a grin feeling his heart beating wildly with uncertainty. "I know, I know, darlin'. I'm sorry, I didn't mean-" Her request caught him completely off guard. She wanted him to bed her? For once, his head was completely empty and words could not form in his mouth. He hadn't been with another mare in a very long time, and he wasn't even sure if he could bring himself to. Things had been a little crazed for Savage in the circus camps and at that time, he might has well have been forced to breed with mares since whenever they were in season, the humans made sure to keep him close by. No matter how intelligent the creature, there was always that primal need of passing on one's lineage.

He shook his head a little trying to put that behind him. Did he...should he really? It wasn't that she wasn't gorgeous, but...Savage looked away for a moment as if in deep thought. He knew it looked like he was denying her, but really he had an inner turmoil. The stallion was all talk and no walk it seemed for as much as he had flirted with her before. Again, the stallion closed his eyes which calmed him. He took in her scent and the smells of the area around him. He listened for what little wind was there as well as the creatures that sang their nocturnal songs. He could feel his heart beating...and then another. He was feeling Aquaria's heart beating against his as they stood chest to chest, their necks on either side, her head on his shoulder. "I cannot promise anything, Aquaria..." He began. "But...I will do this. For you."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 21, 2011 6:29 pm

She felt strange as the silence grew around them. And yet it wasn't the silence that bothered her. It was his eyes and the way he stood with her. The mare stopped him as he tried to apologize making sure he understood what she wanted. Aquaria stared into his eyes wondering what he would say of her request. It was a strange one seeing as she had never been with a stallion before, but for some reason she needed this. She needed him.

Aquaria watched him wondering if she didn't please him. She wasn't exactly the cream of the crop when it came to being a pretty mare, but she didn't consider herself ugly at all. However, she looked at him more closely and saw some inner turmoil. There was a past to Savage that she still didn't know. She would like to if he ever gave her that chance. Aquaria was about to speak, but she felt his chest against hers. She took a deep breath closing her eyes and feeling the rhythms of their bodies. The mare rested her head on his shoulder feeling as though they were one azrein. It was...so intense. Was this what it was like to feel a spirit? But what sort of spirit was this? Her eyes opened slowly to meet his gaze and hear his voice. He was giving her this. And she saw that he felt something for her as much as he didn't want to admit it. Aquaria took a breath clearing her mind and allowing what she wanted - needed - to happen. This was her future now. And she believed in it - and Savage.

The next morning came slowly. The mare was in deep slumber curled up in the field. Her legs were tucked underneath her belly, nose touching her elbow. She slept soundly as her dreams were pleasant and reminding of the night before. A noise spiked through her slumber causing her to stir. She groaned a little curling her body ever so tighter to her frame. She was still tired...Then a gentle nudge went toward her rump. This time her head bolted up to meet the gaze of her lover. Savage's eyes were playful if not compassionate as he nudged her again in the same spot. She eyed him carefully then noticed a bucket full of fruit close to the river. Her eyes widened with surprise jumping up in a little bit of fear looking around with haste. However Savage grazed peacefully close to the river as calm as ever. "Savage! Where did the fruit come from? Did you go back to that orchard?" Aquaria trotted up toward him tilting her head in curiosity as her stomach raged with hunger. She did indeed want to eat, but she wanted to be safe.

The night had gone by with a flourish and the morning came with a new meaning to the stallion. He had curled his body around the mare after their coupling resting close to her to keep her warm. All through the night he had slept peacefully with no worries. That was the first time in a while he didn't have to keep one ye open while he rested. Aquaria had given him something he could never give back - peace of mind. The stallion awoke in the early morning while it was still a little dark and before the filly beside him. His eyes gazed at her sleeping form with a certain admiration. He nudged the bangs from her face seeing that her head wound was still healing.

Savage stood carefully licking her nose gently before slipping off into the forest again. He was heading on a journey to give her a treat. The stallion kept a cool jog taking another path however. His tail flicked at movement, his muscles twitching under his tight pelt. It took him a good bit of the morning to get back to the orchard. He kept to the forest keeping the humans in eyesight. They were expanding the little area and planting more fruit trees and bushes. He noticed that the trees from before still had some fruit on them. The humans hadn't picked them all it seemed. Savage supposed that they thought the two azrein would not come back. Savage waited them out as they went back toward the farm holds. He waited and quickly trotted out toward the orchard jumping over the fence. He took a bucket from the side and went toward each tree and bush picking a few fruits that weren't too bad looking. He worked quickly to get as much as he could. Once the humans were back in sight, he grabbed the bucket and bolted from the fields toward the forest.

It took him longer than he wanted to to get back, but he didn't want to risk spilling the food. As soon as he made it to the clearing, it appeared that Aquaria was still sleeping. He gave a bit of a grin, high stepping toward the river. He dropped it gingerly then went to wake her with a gentle nudge on her water marking. It was kinda cute now that he got a better look at it. Immediately she jumped and their eyes met. The stallion gave a bit of a grin eyeing her with playful eyes. He was enjoying the teasing as he nudged her again. As she noticed the bucket, he trotted to go feed on the grasses close to the river. At her question, he lifted his head to give her a look. "Yeah." The stallion chuckled nipping her chin. "Morning to you too. Look, don't worry about it. I wasn't spotted. C'mon, let's enjoy the morning." Savage looked at her then trotted toward the bucket grabbing one of the oranges. He came to the mare offering it to her with a snort. His ears flicked to hear her hunger and knew that she wanted it.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:57 pm

The mare simply nodded toward Savage as he gave her a short, cool explanation of the bucket and food. The playful n** he gave her calmed her down slightly and his laugh did even more so. He was so sure of himself, so alive with energy. How could she not want to feed from that? The male flicked her ears forward watching him offer her favorite fruit. Aquaria finally gave in as she took the sweet, tangy orange from the stallion who promptly went to eat something else in the bucket. Aquaria fed ravenously before joining him to snag at what he managed to bring back.

Both azrein were done feeding with scarcely anything left in the bucket. The mare went to the waters to grab a cool drink and to wash the sticky fruit fluid from her nose. Suddenly, cold water was splashed in her face causing her to squeal with shock. Her nostrils flared as her hair stuck to her skin, her eyes glaring at the culprit who was still in the river. Her frown turned into a smirk as she leaped into the river splashing him with her jump. The two frolicked and laughed much like foals as they soaked each other in the cold waters, the afternoon now upon them. With both of them wet, she shook her body and coughed at him. "What brought that on?" The mare's chest heaved as she grunted slipping from the river shaking herself off again. "Not that it wasn't fun, I just wasn't expecting it, Savage." She flashed him a grin leaning down to take in a few mouth fulls of clover that grew close to the river. She wondered if they would be traveling soon.

Savage simply took in her gentle graces. The way the sun caught her pelt as she moved, her hair flowing as she did so. Even that patch that he accidentally ripped off was starting to grow back. It was a wonder she still didn't notice. His eyes studied her as they fed on the fruit. She just seemed so happy. It gladdened him that she was...and yet it scared him that he felt so much for this mare. It really scared him. And yet he wanted to learn more about her. Get to know what she was truly like. And maybe even let her in. He'd definitely want to let her in.

He watched her as she went to grab a drink of water, and soon enough a devious smile glowed on his face. Without much hesitation he immediately leaped into the water splashing the mare. He laughed at her reaction, but he didn't have time to duck away from her. He wasn't expecting this sort of payback from Aquaria. The two laughed as they frolicked in the waters splashing at each other. He was starting to enjoy her company more than he admitted, but it made things fun. It made his life lighter than it used to be. Soon they stopped and both were heaving and sweating and wet from the play. Savage risked bending his head down for a cool drink. His ears flicked forward listening to Aquaria's voice. He coughed lifting his head to respond to her. "I wanted to see you smile." Savage felt the words come out before he could really say anything. "I just wanted to see you smile." The stallion came out of the water, and closer nudging his nose against her forehead gently then pulled her into an embrace with his neck. He breathed in her scent not being able to get enough of this mare. She wormed her way into him - something he wasn't expecting at all. "C'mon. Let's see what our adventures have in store for us. eh? Let's make a go at this. This crazy thing we call life." Savage pulled away only to walk around her, nipping her bum as he rounded her backside, and kept her at his side making sure they were always touching. Aquaria felt nice and she was warm. He was honestly still cold from the water as much as the sun was beating down on them. Go figure.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2011 6:19 am

Aquaria was surprised at his answer, her head tilting in slight curiosity as she watched him. Her smile? She felt herself smiling again as she giggled trying to answer him. And yet she went quiet as he came close and embraced her again. Her eyes closed as she rested her head against his neck feeling his warm breath against her pelt. He felt so soft and warm; the mare felt as though she could fall asleep here. Aquaria had been wondering what it would be like between them after last night. She was pleasantly surprised that things hadn't changed at all. Her head tilted up as he invited her to come along with him. It appeared he wouldn't take no as an answer as he seemed to corral her against him. His n** just made her laugh and blush all at the same time.

Aquaria realized that she had never been this happy before. That she had never been so full of excitement and many other emotions this stallion caused. He saved her not once but twice to seemed. And he was willing to provide and defend for her. Even take risks such as this morning. Aquaria wanted to know more about Savage - his upbringing, past friends and lovers, his parents. Everything he would offer her. In turn, Aquaria had realized that she wouldn't mind letting him in. Speaking to him of why she believed in the Great Ones so much, and how much of an influence her mother was. That she wasn't afraid of getting close to anyone anymore. The mare gave a brief snort leaning against him. "Let's go, Savage." She confirmed nipping his ear before racing off ahead of him. She could hear his pounding hooves as the two azrein raced across the fields toward the unknown. At least this time, they wouldn't be alone.
