Snuggling into his side, her shivers slowly subsiding under the wampth of his wing, closing her eyes, "Mmmm thank you..." the feeling of the returning wampth was wonderful after her charge into the cold water. Looking up at him and smiling at him, inocent and joyous. "Grandfather can't have hated you, he probably misses you doing that." She had no idea but she got the geeling her grandfather had loved how Crown had expressed his wish and enthusiasm.

He looked down at her, the purity and innocences of the little mare so obvious that it shone through her eyes. It was for her, for their family and herd that he did what he did, they were worth protecting, worth risking his life for. No matter how old she got he was sure he would always feel that way. "Perhaps you are right." Crown knew that no matter how tired or worn out Maion had been he never turned Crown away, had always encounraged him. No request had ever been too extreme. He had wished upon the moon, like so many dreamers had, and his dream had come true.... "Maybe you should take up my old role?" He found himself saying, "Or...." He looked at the treeline, memories flooding back to him with how he used to try and copy and had hurt himself, "...maybe I could give you a head start and show you some of the moves and exercises?" At least if she was shown properly she would be less likely to get hurt, Crown had a feeling that Sonnet wouldn't ever like the idea either way, his little girl would always remain so in his mind.... but he knew Sonnet would likely hate it even more if Heze came back hurt.

Heze pondered this, actually taking teh time to think about it for a time, not jumping in all enthusiasm, though the spark in her eyes had made it seem she might for a moment. "I'd really like that, but I want to ask daddy first... I... I don't want him to think..." Not sure what her dad would think, she wanted Crown to show her things, she would like her dad to show her too, but if she didn't say and he found out she was sure her dad would be hurt she hadn't come to him.

Crown was impressed, it took courage to not want to simply do something but to do it 'right'. "I think that is a very grown up idea Heze." He said with a smile upon his face. looking to the sky he noticed how the moon was still shining bright but the sky was sharting to brighten ever so slightly, those that didn't live in the night probably wouldn't notice the subtle changes. "He should be finishing up soon...." Crown wasn't trying to push her into anything, knew that she was determined and so would work things out in her own time. Crown simply wanted to help her if she needed him to, after all he rather liked his younger cousin.

She nods and gave him an impish grin. "Yeah but your all warm and its cold out there." She as mostly playing though it was true and she was still damp. Looking up at him. "Can I ask a question about my dad?" Blushing, her father never havign been able to answer this question and she had never had the guts to ask Maion yet, maybe in asking Crown it could be a step to talking to her Grandfather about it.

Crown chuckled and pulled her closer to him, ensuring she was extra warm and cuddly. "Better?" He asked before listening to her request. With a slight c**k of his eyebrow he found himself very curious about what she may want to ask, "Sure." He said with a smile, "What do you want to ask?" He wasn't sure he would be able to answer, but if he could he would.

Nodding, nice and warm, having zero complaints about being cold, smiling her thanks. "Well daddy wasn't always in the herd... And he never trained to be a protector.... but he is... when I ask how he just said he was asked...." Looking up at Crown, a little puzzled. "Is it that easy sometimes?"

Crown's smile faded for a moment, was she worried that others believed her father wasn't worthy of the possition? Crown had paired with Sonnet in training, knew that he was just as dedicated as the others, especially now that he had his three little girls to protect -even if one was determined to do her own protecting. "Yes," he said, serious. "Sometimes it is that simple, Mai-your grandfather," He caught himself from calling him Maion, "must have seen something in your father, he had protected the herd as a youth against two skinwalkers," Or so Crown had been told, his mother had been pregnant with him and his siblings at the time. "And he is mated to Chandra, your grandfathers little girl." He smiled, remembering the mood that Maion had been in over 'losing his little girl', of course that had faded quickly, especially with the news of the pregnancy. The whole herd had been so happy about the new arrivals, Crown had been sent on several errands to find different gifts for the couple on behalf of the none travelling members of the herd. "A protector isn't always born to the role, but earns it." Crown wondered if Heze knew she was actually in the line to one day become the alpha? Her aunt and mother were the first heirs, but Heze and her sisters were next. Of course Io was now pregnant also.... the alpha family seemed to be growing so fast.

She gave him a dazzling grin, clearly anyone who thought her parents were great would be worshipped by this girl. "Who's Soufoo... fill soufle....?" Looking embarassed that she couldn't pronounce the name right, her cheeks very pink. Not having a clue as to her possible birthright. Chandra and Sonnet having decided to not burden their girls with a future that might not come to pass, having left them to decide for themselves, besides even if you groomed one for the role it didn't mean that they would be most suited to it when the time came. So the pair raised their daughters as best they could teaching them values, being sure in their heart of hearts that if needed one or all of them would be able to take up the mantle. But that was all in teh future and so very uncertain. And none of it was known by the little foal snuggled into the wamoth under Crown's wing.

Crown raised his eyebrow again, trying to figure out who she meant. "Sophia?" He said at first, but as soon as he said it he knew he had got it wrong. His younger aunty wasn't likely to have a part in this particular conversation, and since Sophia tried to spend a lot of time with her mate Kritan Crown wasn't even sure that Heze had met her yet. He turned away, staring into space as his mind tried to think of everyone he knew whose name started with an 'S'. The list was short so he started rolling the sounds around on his tongue until he got.... "Sofiel....? Do you mean Sofiel?" He turned back towards the little mare.
Crown had only met the old flutter a few times, he was even older than Maion and from what little information Crown had learnt that the old flutter had been the one to teach Maion, to hone his natural Angeni fighting skills into what he was today. "He is an old flutter, a ninja I believe." Curious why she was asking he asked, "Why?"

Heze shook her head at the first name, that wasn't it. Though the second one had her nodding vigerously and bouncing under his wing. "Yes!! Yes HIM!!" Her excitement vanishing at his last question hiding under his wing a little. Mumbling. "Do you think hes too old to teach me a few lessons... Hes the one that taught daddy to fight.... So... I thought... maybe..." She was figiting and unsure, not knowing that the same one had trained both her father and grandfather, mostly because Sonnet didn't know and o it was never part of the story.

Crown didn't know the answer to her question, and he couldn't lie to her.... false hope wouldn't help her in this. "I don't know him personally, but...." He found himself wanting to help her in some way, any way. "...your Grandfather does, Sofiel usually comes here to visit him after all, and sometimes Maion goes deep into the forest to see Sofiel." Curious himself he asked, "How did your father find him?" Crown had only heard a rumor that Sofiel had taught Sonnet too... but Crown had never understood how that had come to pass, maybe that was because he had never actually asked Sonnet?

Heze poked her tongue out a little as she tried to recall how that story had started. "..... Daddy said that he just appeared one day with a "Come." and bang heres how you kick butt lessons via getting your butt kicked." Having laughed hearing of how her dad had had a lot to learn and how he didn't hold back that some of the lessons were embarassing.

Crown found himself chuckled a little, so sometimes it was that simple to find someone so awesome to instruct you? Crown had always wanted Maion to teach him, and had been so pleased and proud of himself when that opportunity was presented to him... but even he had to admit that the idea of just one lesson from Sofiel would be... awesome! After all, the old flutter had taught Maion, had he taught him everything? Crown wouldn't even care if he got his butt kicked in so many different ways that his ego would be bruised for years..... shaking his head he focused on Heze once more. "Your Dad was really lucky then. I hear the old flutter is excellent at blending, that you can't find him unless he wants to be found. Do you know he was here that day the Skinwalkers attacked? He was looking for your grandfather and instead ended up fighting for the herd." A good guy, Crown thought.

Nodding and grinning. "I like it when daddy tells me that story, but mum and my sisters don't like hearing it so much so I don't ask for it any more." Her eyes shining, not liking the story for the danger but he thought of all the fighters as heros. "Daddy said there was a green stallion there too, was that you?" Looking up at him her eyes alight with even more hero worship at the idea.
