Oh oh oh wait she knew this one!
"Mug as in...steal from?" She questioned, sounding concerned. "You shouldn't steal, Roch." That was all the reprimand that he received from her, especially since he explained he did it because he was pantsless and cold. It made sense, but... "Just ask next time!" She tsked; okay, maybe she had one reprimand left.
"Err, b-but...who is Johnny Danger?" She had no idea. Not a one. "...And what's a d**k?"

He looked at her. Then looked away, his shoulders shaking--was he--
Yep, he burst into laughter, enjoying that response far more than he should have. Oh, the things he could say...

...Aaaaand her lips flatlined again.
"I'm serious!" She whined, her face darkening with a rather flustered blush. She obviously said something wrong, but how was she to know? That phrase was somewhat new to her, she didn't know what it meant! But she buried her face against his shoulder regardless, hiding the rest of her face with her hair out of complete embarrassment.

"I'm sorry," he said, still laughing. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! It's just--" He laughed harder, standing still so she could keep her balance as she hit. "You're really cute, did you know that, Amrita?" he asked her, grinning.
"I'm way too much of a jerk to be teaching you stuff like this, so I'm gonna stop." He reached up, gently pushing her hair out of her face. "I just meant that he's a jerk. A spoiled rich brat that's getting by on a pretty voice and all of four chords. The SAME four chords. Over and over again."

"Rooochhhh~" She whined as he continued to laugh despite apologizing. She had stopped when he did, but she did shyly pull her splinted and slinged arm closer against her chest. His cute comment made her flush in a flustered way though her lips kept pouting. "Amnot." She insisted, letting him brush her hair back.
"If...if you don't tell me I'll...I'll just...greugle it!" The Vetala threatened, despite how his answer was at least satisfying. "But...that won't last though? Won't someone know that it's a lie...?"

"But it ain't a lie," he said, ever honest. "Four chords really is all you need to get by in the music industry. It's just my pride as a guitarist that finds it irritating and overrated. And, I hate the guy, but I gotta admit he's got a decent set of pipes. So me disliking him is no reason for you to," he told her. "But I don't like how he treated Willow, so I'd prefer you didn't get too close to him."

"So you're done laughing now?" She murmured, which was about when she stopped pouting at him for it.
"Is that it...? I thought there was more." She tilted her head in thought, allowing some of her shorter bangs to cover her face and only because she didn't want to let go of his hand to fix it. The wind would move it back eventually. "I don't not like him, I haven't ever met him." Amrita was very serious about that; there wasn't any point in not liking someone she'd never met!
"How...did he treat Willow...?" Who was Willow, again? That was probably a better question, but the one she asked was good enough.

"Or I think that's what her name. Honestly, I don't know her, really, but he hit on her even though they obviously didn't know each other." He shrugged. "I just would rather you didn't, but hell, I don't got the right to tell people who or who they don't talk to."
He was realizing that. "Just like others don't got the right to decide who I talk or don't talk to," he said. They had reached the maul by now, and he headed inside with her, almost bouncing as they reached the pet shop. "Man, I can't wait," he said, his hold on her hand tightening slightly.

Amrita looked alarmed. With a gasp, her eye widened, her jaw slacked for a moment. "He...He HIT her?!" She cried out in disbelief. "W-why would he---that's not right!" She attempted to bring her hand to her cheek in memory, but with the strain of the splint it was only a shuddering gesture; she didn't have the face that he originally hit anymore, but a cheek was a cheek and it had, at one point, been hers.
"I'm...so excited for you!" She still sounded and looked uncomfortably alarmed, but she was at least able to give his hand a squeeze in return.

"No! Nononono, he didn't HIT her, he hit ON her. He tried to flirt," Roch said, explaining quickly. "I don't think this guy would hit a ghoul or anything. He's just a complete... he likes ghouls a bit too much." Like Roch didn't? Hypocrite. But at least he didn't HIT blatantly on strangers!
"Hey, I'm here to buy the punkeesh?" he called to the shop owner.

"...Oh." Well, didn't she feel sheepish. "W-well good! Being hit hurts! Especially the face." The ghoul tried to save face, but it wasn't really working very well. Not that she knew what flirting really meant, or what it meant to like ghouls too much - was there a limit to how friendly you can be with them? If there was, she had not been informed.
"The punke---Oh, it's you!" The old shopkeep puffed, leaning in to scrutinize the pair. Last time they had been dirty and close, and this time they were still close, but Amrita was wearing a sling and they both looked a little beat up in some areas. What were these kids doing, he wondered. "Sorry Boil, had a buyer, paid up front and then some." Sugar coating wasn't in his vocabulary, apparently.

Roch's face fell. "Wh--what? Who?" he asked. "Maybe I can talk to them--or see him again at least, or--" He was stunned. He couldn't believe it. Who would have bought his fish? And that quickly?

The old shopkeep looked thoughtful.
"Hrm...some guy named...Scythe, I think? Some weird name like...Veghas Scythe or sommat~" He scratched the stubble on his chin in thought. "Said somethin' bout an acquarium inna business or---" Eventually, he shrugged, leaning against the counter.
Amrita, on the other hand (almost literally, as she was still holding his), was almost pouting again. The Vetala looked up at Roch, lightly nudging him with the length of her arm down his, giving his hand a squeeze. "Oh Roch, I'm so sorry..."

There was a strange expression on Roch's face. He didn't look nearly so devastated, but he did look extremely irritated. "Vegas Scythe?" he offered the owner. "Did he say his company was 'Casino Royale'?" he asked.

"Ah!" The Shop keep snapped his fingers and pointed at Roch's chest. "Thas'tha one!" He grinned, then shrugged. "Sorry boyo, if I get another I'll give the ghoul there a call." There was a nod towards Amrita, but she didn't notice. She was too busy gripping to Roch like a lifeline, scared he was going to bolt again and climb things. She couldn't climb after him! Malcolm's orders! Please don't make me come after you, she thought in a mantra, practically staring holes in her friend.
