For a moment, Remarque considered this. "Don't worry about contacting me. If you find anything interesting, I'll come find you," he promised; if Eric found out anything, he knew that he'd have to tell the other members of their group--albeit it currently consisted of Eric and Jett, so if Eric was getting all his information from Remarque, Jett would find out nothing of importance.

"If you're desperate to meet up though," Remarque thought for a moment and then promised, "I'll come to the park on Thursdays. Between eight and midnight. So if you need something, I'll meet you here. If you don't need anything, don't show up. How does that work for you?"

He nodded.

"What about other days? If you say there were Senshi here before, I might patrol here on other nights to keep an eye out, see if I can’t see one and take some notes. They’re not hard to watch, they don’t get violent very easy, and they don't seem to move faster than a normal human being."

He motioned to the area around him.

"And there are plenty of places to hide around here, I’m sure I could keep out of sight. As it is, Ive built up a bit of a relationship with some of the senshi, I might be able to get a little more information out of them if I happen to see them."

He looked around at the park. If this was his only lead, he couldn't count it out entirely. He didn’t know where else to find senshi, and if he couldn’t find them he couldn’t get any information about them. So what use would the sky watch be with nothing to watch? He had to patrol here.

“The other days, I can’t guarantee I’ll be here,” Remarque answered with a light shrug. “But, like I said, I’ve seen a few senshi around here, if you want a few answers,” he shrugged. “I guess you could hit them up, yeah. But it’s not like you have to limit yourself to just here. Dangerous with all these homeless people or something,” he muttered.

Indifferently, he leaned back, resting his hands on his hips as he continued, “But, if you’re going to be in the park, chances are I’ll see you around sometimes. Might be too busy to talk some days, depends on what’s going on. But, you do that, you keep your eyes open and don’t do anything stupid. Stay hidden if you can, or, if you’re feeling particularly rowdy—sure. Go ahead and see what the senshi are up to. Might be a good idea to invest in some time at the gym, just in case you need to defend yourself or make a fast get away,” he reminded, not wanting Eric to get into more than he could handle.

Eric laughed.

"Invest in a gym? I’m sleeping in a park. I'll have to just make do with a few pushups every morning, maybe a run every once and a while. I was thinking of looking into a free self-defense class but uh... you know... the only ones I can find are for women..."

He tried not to dwell on that, it wasn’t the most impressive reaction to founding a secret organization devoted to protecting destiny city from a super powered alien threat.

"I'll figure something out. And I will look in other places, but if they've been here I want to swing back by from time to time, look around and see if any are still coming here. If they move in patterns, that could be pretty useful information, you know? It might be the difference between life or death."

Nodding, Remarque understood Eric's poverty, though said little of it. "Well. Good luck with that, I'm sure you'll figure something out."

At the very least, Jett could figure something out. Get him a gym membership or teach him some moves or go jogging with him--something.

"Probably a good idea to keep getting information like you're doing. Never hurts to be prepared," he said, giving Eric a light clap on the shoulder. "Do you have any more immediate questions, or is it all right if I get back to my route?" he asked, moving his hand to gesture behind him as if to emphasize that it was time for him to head on out if Eric was done talking and ready to head back to bed.

Eric nodded, standing up and picking up his sleeping bag. It was probably better that he wasn’t out tonight; he should try to find someplace indoors to stay.

"Yeah, if I need you I'll be sure to be here next week, or the week after or whatever. You know, here at the right time and run anything by you I need run by."

As he spoke, he rolled the sleeping bag up, cursing slightly at its refusal to stay rolled up. He hated sleeping bags. It was as if they were intentionally designed not to go back into the packages they came out of.

"God damn piece of s**t..."

He finally got it together and put it under his arm.

"I'll try to find somewhere else to sleep; maybe I'll snooze on the bus until seven. That’s when I can get back into my place. It'll be safe on the bus, won't it?"

The bus. He should have known that Eric would find his way to the bus. Ignoring the difficulties the redhead had been having with his sleeping bag, he slowly nodded. "If they'll let you sleep on the bus, I'm pretty sure you'll be all right. Nice and safe on buses."

Remarque didn't actually know if buses were safe; he rarely rode on them unless he could help it. One day, he'd ask Eric what his fascination with riding the bus was, but he wasn't going to prod for more information. It was late enough as it was, and he'd gotten done what he needed to. "I'll see you some time next Thursday, then. Take care of yourself. Oh--one question though. What you wrote down," he said, pointing to Eric's notebook. "Wasn't kidding about the 'cos-play' thing, earlier. What the hell does that mean?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 8:51 pm

"Cos play." He said with a shrug. Seeing that Remarque didn't seem to know what the word meant, he elaborated, trying not to look too shocked.

"Cos play? Short for costume play? It means someone who goes to, you know, events or conventions dressed up as characters from television or books or just for fun."

He looked Remarque up and down.

"You know. Cosplay."

He looked at the other man expectantly, clearly not understanding that this turquoise and gold outfit was actually supposed to be a uniform, not an unfortunate paint disaster or some sort of humorous costume.

"...I see," he said slowly, sounding a bit dissatisfied with the answer. "Well."

He certainly wasn't dressed up as some television or book character, and if he was going to dress up for fun (never mind the fact that it was past halloween and he could find no logical excuse to do so), he would have worn something a bit warmer than this. As it were, he had small goosebumps running up and down his arms. "...Yeah," he said slowly. "Anyway."

Dismissively, he waved his hand. "See you Thursday or something," he said, not quite sure what else he should say now that Eric thought he was some kind of freak.

"Sure thing. See you then, if I see you."

He tried to shrug nonchalantly, turn and walk away. A shiver came over him, he was mostly awake and now quite aware of how much colder it was outside then it had been asleep in his sleeping bag. Still, he wasn't about to complain, this meeting had been very, very informative, he knew enough now to really be of use to the sky watch.

He looked around at all the homeless people sleeping in the park. Not semi-homeless, but full on homelessness. He felt bad for them. Wait, wasn’t there a homeless shelter in destiny city? What the hell? Why hadn't he gone there?

He hit himself in the head, angry at his own idiocy. That would have been an easy place to stay, and free to boot. He didn't have anything to steal, so he wouldn’t have to worry about that.

Still... there was something off putting about that idea of sleeping in a building with a bunch of... people. Specifically unwashed, drunken or somewhat insane people. Maybe the bus was a better idea. Yeah, definitely the bus.
