xxxxxxxxxxxxRoland was born and abandoned in New Orleans, offered up as collateral to cover a massive debt to bookie Dominic LeRue. Dominic, unsure of what to do with a child, came to the conclusion that he should raise the kid, and hopefully learn how to make a few bucks off of him. The boy, whom he named Roland, began as a young collector of bets from anything ranging from horse racing to boxing. His golden eyes got him the nickname “Goldeneye” from Dominic’s associates that later stuck with him as his stage name for fights. It is here that he develops his skills in tracking and tailing betters that can’t come up with payment. He would usually track them down for his “father” and let him and his “uncles” take care of the situation. Roland developed his powers at the age of 8, as a reflex when a shelf collapsed atop of him. Seeing what the boy was capable of, Dominic immediately put him into training. The boy was soon desensitized to violence, being forced to commit horrible acts of violence upon others as he trained, one such incident would be the first time he ever committed murder, killing a rival bookie and his bodyguard for Dominic. This would not be his last as he soon began to fight within an underground network of men who would bet on cage fights between mutants. Unlike many of the other mutants, James was much younger than the other fighters. And despite his youth and lack of experience, he was a relatively successful cage fighter.
The boy was treated like a commodity most of the time by this point, and at the age of 10 Roland soon started to teach himself in treating his wounds using his knowledge of the body he learned that did the most damage to repair the damage inflicted upon himself. And from meeting members of this underworld, such as the Russian Mob and La Cosa Nostra, he learned how to speak Russian and Italian respectively. At age 12, he manifested his first weapon, a metal rod. Through practice he learned to convert it into a blade, soon after into a sword. Through a book Dominic left him, he came upon the legend of the French paladin Roland, his namesake, and this soon became his fantasy to ride along with the famous warrior. He enjoyed the legend so much he had the name of Roland’s sword, Durendal, and the sword of Roland’s lord Charlemagne “Joyeuse” tattooed along his right and left forearms when he was 15.
Until he was 16, he fought for Dominic. He won and lost fights many a time over the years. His final fight was in New York City, where he encountered the X-Man known as Wolverine. Wolverine had come to the fights to shut them down, succeeding with bringing police into the situation as he began to fight in the warehouse the fights were being held. Dominic in his fear of being arrested, fled the scene leaving Roland behind. Logan came upon him, and sensing that this kid needed a better life than this, took him to the Institute. He spent a year living at the mansion having “therapy” sessions with Professor Xavier, who spent a great deal of time rehabilitating Roland and helping him manage and deal with the traumas he experienced as a child. He started regular schooling at the Institute at 17, and has proven to be intelligent with a thirst for knowledge.

The armor is similar to a second skin for him, and having years of practicing in the armor he is able to move around in it without any hindrance to his range of motion. -Heightened Durability: In his armored form, the armor itself is metallic in appearance but its durability is comparable to Kevlar. The armor can take a significant amount of blunt-force trauma, some damage from bladed edge weapons, and only a few hits from small arms fire. Given time, the armor will repair itself in a semi-organic fashion. Note: His armor can take a beating, but it does have a threshold. Once it goes beyond that point, he is able to be injured in the same way as a normal human is, hence his scarring. Also, his ability to sustain the armor under optimal conditions without any combat damage taken into account is roughly 8 hours. Time spent in his armored form following this can result in massive unhealthy weight loss as the suit jumpstarts his metabolism to keep the armor intact. -Weapon Generation: With enough concentration, Roland is capable of generating a weapon or object that is within the maximum weight limit of about 5 pounds. He usually prefers to generate a single-handed sword.

xxxxxxxxxxxxCharlotte and Lyn were born to a set of middle class, loving Nashville parents. They were doted on by their family, Charlotte being the older twin by mere minutes. Even at a young age, she never let Lyn, or her parents, forget that she was the older of the two. Despite the fact that she was part of a twin set, Charlotte took her duties as an older sister seriously, while always trying to assert her independence.
Over the years, the twins developed a close bond to one another, as twins often did. Their parents strove to assure that they were treated equally, and that each developed into their own independent person. Of course, this was no problem for the older Charlotte, who excelled in socializing with other kids and making her own friends. However, she always remains fiercely loyal to her sister, and protected her from as much as she could while they were children. They became more united at the birth of their baby brother, the twins putting on a united front against the newest member of the Gauge clan. If they were going to get in trouble, at least they were going to get in trouble together.
And so the Gauge twins passed a leisurely childhood of games, going to school and making friends. She was 13 when she discovered her powers for the first time, though she kept them hidden for fear that she would be called freak by everyone else. Thankfully, she was graced with a mutation that was easy to keep under wraps, even from her sister. And it made hunting with her father all the more fun, as he praised her for her shot and ability in the forest.
It wasn't until her sister's powers manifested themselves in a pretty spectacular way that she finally divulged her sister, then coming up with a plan to cover up what really happened from their parents. After all, being the older sibling, it was her job to make sure that nothing happened to her little sister. The last thing she wanted was for Lyn to feel alone in what she was going to, and it was easier going to their parents on a united front. Rather than deal with what was happening to them alone, however, the girls did some research and came across the Xavier's school. From there, it was simple enough to propose the boarding school to their parents, never really telling them the truth about what the school really was.
At the beginning of their Freshman year of high school, the girls made the move from Nashville to New York, starting at a school where they would learn to harness their powers. It was nice, the girl living together, even if Charlotte felt like she was constantly trailing behind her younger sister, cleaning up her messes and making sure that she didn't do anything too stupid. They made friends, some exclusive to their own circles, though at the end of the day Charlotte knew that they had each other.
Graduating high school, Charlotte started classes at the Xavier Academy in education, eventually being asked by the school to transfer to one of the more active teams of Junior X-men. Charlotte, of course, didn't hesitate, excited about her new role and chance to show off just what she could do.

xxxxxxxxxxxxD i s p o s i t i o n → Generally, Charlotte is a kind soul who enjoys making new friends and hanging out with those closest to her. That being said, she can have a violent temper, especially when it comes to people messing with her younger twin, or just generally being annoying to her. She takes pretty much everything seriously, whether it be training with her bow, her schoolwork, or working with the new teams of junior x-men. Part of this blame, she is sure, rests with being the older twin - to this day she maintains that it was a full-time job keeping her sister out of trouble when they were younger. They might look identical, but to her, their differences in personality are plain as day. At the end of the day, there is nothing that she won't do for Lyn, or her family. Friends might come and go, but family is forever.
Despite being relatively easy to strike up a conversation with, Charlotte does have a bit of a temper, which can flare up at the smallest provocation. While she'd never admit it, she cares what other people think of her, so she always feels the need to impress them with whatever she is doing. Usually, it works out to her advantage, but when she makes a fool of herself, she can take it pretty hard. Especially if it is embarrassment in front of a boy she likes. Her sense of humor can be a bit quirky, though not nearly as bad as her sister, and she often finds herself rolling her eyes at her sister's outbursts. Still, she likes to laugh, just at the right things.

She does, however, want to unlock her full potential, and use what she can do for good.

Additionally, it prevents her from being incapacitated in bright light or fast changes in light levels. The ability to read heat signatures makes her adept at tracking and hunting.

Long standing a dual business life – oil industry and ranching, the Tanners are well known throughout the area as tycoons and subsequently, politicians. The Tanners were no stranger to the wealth they brought into the town, and nor did the residents of Llano resent them for what they could offer; so it came as no surprise that John Tanner had enough influence to be recognized as the mayor, with many holding hopes of him running for governor next term.
It's because of this that Blake's life started without a hitch – never did the boy ever want for anything. From private tutors to horses to tend to, his life had always been relatively easy. With his parents still together, the young boy – the only son and eldest of two – couldn't have found a reason to complain. No, he wasn't much one to learn about the various men who on occasion trampled into their home, he hadn't a mind to care. It was a way of life, and his father's social activities wasn't a concern so long as he didn't have to be dragged into a room filled with circling cigar smoke and brandy, considering he'd never much taken an interest in his father's life outside of the fence posts.
Rather than focusing on the oil industry or the city county building, Blake found himself sympathizing more with the ranch, ever one to help tend the horses – nearly always in the stables with them, brushing, feeding and just spending time with the gentle giants. From a few American Creams, to Suffolks to Hackneys, he grew up with an appreciation of the most common breeds to the rarer ones – intent on showing and breeding what horses they kept. And while the family was well off, Blake was expected to care for the horses daily, and learn the ropes of the ranch “from the bottom up,” as his father would say. The family lands had been promised to him when he was at the right age and mentality, as were the side businesses that had their name painted all over the town.
There is far more to speak about his father and his business arrangement, but to waste the time on it now leaves little to be discovered, so we should move on to the part that actually matters to you...
Blake was fully ignorant of his mutant gene until an accident happened on the ranch, wherein he accidentally “glued” two of his horses together when breaking them into being ridden, so that they could safely harness a saddle to them. It took hours to get the pair apart... and after a few more mishaps around the farm, Blake had a group of visitors intrude into the Tanner home, who spoke of an institute in New York that could help him learn to tame his gifts. Terrified that the mutant gene would ruin their name and aid in the dwindling of their wealth, the Tanners avidly agreed to send him to this odd sort of boarding school.
It was here that Blake got his first real taste of the city life. Always one to adapt, Blake excelled in his classes, and worked one on one with a few professors to help get a grasp at how his mutation manifested. Not much time had passed when he was noticed for his work ethic and steep learning curve, and he was quickly promoted to Bobby Drake's team, the Excelsiors, wherein he was again promoted – this time as the leader of the group to replace Jullian Keller, who had earned his alias Hellion honestly. Highly competitive and very good at tactics, Blake's leadership helped greatly in turning the team around. And it wasn't long until the Excelsiors became Bobby's pride and joy, and gave Blake a dependable mentor, but more importantly a close friend from the teams.
Later, Blake was offered several positions as he outgrew the Excelsiors, being that the professors felt that the team had nothing left to offer him. It was for him to decide between transferring teams to the Hellions or helping those who were just coming to terms with their mutation. Ever one to lead, Blake took the later option, mirroring what Jean had done when she was younger – serving as the poster child for the Academy, to help charm parents into allowing their children to attend Xavier's Institute. The position was far more than he could have imagined, and through it, the cowboy got to view the world, going where Cerebro beckoned them to, utilizing his southern wiles to snag Xavier more students.
During times when he was on leave, Blake made trips home to tend to what would soon be his ranch, still having little interest in the black gold business that funded the rest of his lifestyle. The past two years had seen limited amount of time on campus, but Blake dedicated what he could to the students he'd helped wrangle in, aiding in their initial adjustments, and shadowing them the first few days they were at the school, so that they wouldn't feel like a small fish in a large sea. The work was rewarding, and he loved nearly every minute of it. (Minus the part where he had to deal with a lot of Brotherhood members doing the same thing.)
Because his schedule was all over the place, a lot of his friendships remained in touch via letters and emails – including one friend he'd made on a rival team (Paragons) years ago, Bella Stone. He wrote to her when he had the time, getting the mundane details as well as the ones that discussed what her team had gone through while he'd been visiting Paris, Cozumel, etc. Often, he'd tease her about the fact that he'd chosen more wisely than herself, but envied the long lasting relationships she was able to maintain close to her. From working with her best friend Evie, to actually maintaining some semblance of a love life... Blake hadn't much of a chance to do that with his more solitaire lifestyle. His friends had to have skype accounts, not just a door down the hall.
With recruitment slowing down, and a rising need of experienced student teams with all anti-mutant propaganda, Scott and Emma once again approached the young man, requesting him to take a break from his cush job with the X-men and aid in helping the students at home, with one stipulation that made him agree after a long period of consideration – that he could help mentor those students he'd brought in and the younger generation of X-men. It was feasible, so long as he wasn't running the team himself. An extra push from Bobby caused Blake to return to the campus, and landed him in Emma's office, where she and Scott discussed who would get the man on their team.

xxxxxxxxxxxxD e f i n i t i o n → Leptokinesis, also called Nanokinesis or Atomic/Molecular/Matter Manipulation is the ability to mentally manipulate molecules and to manipulate objects/subjects on a molecular level. In using this, Blake has molecular adhesion, the strongest attribute of his mutation, but can also separate his own molecules to become intangible and phase through subjects.
xxxxxxxxxxxxS t r e n g t h s → We'll start with adhesion first as it's his strongest attribute. Blake is able to render himself “sticky,” or other objects sticky, by fusing molecules together. This acts as a “glue,” and how long it lasts depends entirely on concentration, and mastery of power. Right now, his current record for fusing organic matter together is a few hours. Inorganics last longer – his mother has paintings on the wall at home that are “stuck” until he chooses to remove them.
This ability also allows him to crawl on walls, run up them, etc.,
With automolecular manipulation, Blake can change himself to be able to pass through objects, or become a cloud of molecules. (Defensive)
xxxxxxxxxxxxW e a k n e s s e s → While he is able to pass through objects, he cannot take anyone with him, and what ever he passes through does not remain intact, as he's not learned to re-form them once he disturbs the chemical bonds. Occasionally his mutation mimics that dispersive adhesion, where he unconsciously “sticks” things together. If he isn't mentally doing it, it's normally painful to pull the to subjects apart. Like all mutants, over exertion will take a toll on how well he is able to control his power, and the overall effect that his efforts will have.
