Justin spotted another player nearby, fighting off some snakes. He checked her stats quickly. A noob? Well, luckily, I'm not a troll. He thought to himself. He saw one getting close to her, so Kaidan ran over and killed it. "Don't worry. I won't kill you." He told her through the headset.

Piper was cursing under her breath as her character ran around, trying to avoid getting hit by the Snake. Wish I had a sword, she thought, frustrated. She never did like using bows. As she was finishing off her current target, Piper noticed that the other play had killed a Snake that had gotten too close. "Thanks," she said in her own headset. "Good to know." She smiled to herself and moved on to attacking the last Snake.

Justin watched the new player kill the last snake. He noticed howshe was kinda struggling with her crossbow. "Don't worry. I have friend on this game at level 20, and he says crossbows are hard to use, too. You're not the only one." He said. Justin always picked Melee classes in RPGs, and his Raider class was light, fast, and high in attack power.

Piper nodded automatically before remembering the other player could not see her. "Oh, I know," she said. "I prefer dual-wielding over ranged weapons. Sadly, all I got out of the tutorial was this crossbow and 20 bolts... Now I have 11... But as soon as I pick up a sword I'll be equipping that. And level 20? Jeesh! I feel like I'm one of the last people to pick up this game!"

Justin chuckled a bit. "Well, my friend works at the company that made it, and he helped with the sound work, so he managed to get a copy early. I got it a week ago, and he's been helping me level up." He told her. "I have a bunch of extra gold. I could buy you a new weapon from the weapon shop back in town." He added. He had more than enough gold, really. Besides, He liked being nice to other players. Interacting is what these MMO's are all about, after all.

"That's so not fair!" Piper said, jealous of this player's connections. "I just spent all my money on a new laptop so I needed to save up again for this game. Had to order it online because all the copies were sold out at GameStop." When the other player suggested buying her a weapon, Piper raised an eyebrow. "Really?" she asked curiously, leaning back in her bean bag chair. "I don't want to be the noob that mooches. And besides, if I did let you buy me a sword, what's the catch?"

Justin smiled. "No catch. I just feel like helping you out." He said honestly. He had few friends in real life, so he liked making friends through games, and helping this girl seemed like a good idea.

Piper was silent for a moment before she smiled and said, "Alright. Sure, but I promise I'll make it up to you somehow." Piper checked the map to see that there were not any enemies nearby before making Solara head back to town.

Justin had Kaidan follow the new player back into town, then led her to the weapon shop. He opened the shop menu for them both to see. "See anything you like?" He asked.

Piper moved closer to the screen as she read the stats for each of the weapons. She avoided everything ranged and focused on the swords and daggers. Not two-handed, she thought, skipping over the long swords. "I like this scimitar," she finally said out loud, highlighting the blade of her choice. But do I want to get another blade or a shield? Piper looked at her own gold and saw she did not have enough for either. Couple more battles and I should be able to get that other scimitar.

Kaidan smiled and clicked on the scimitar, buying it and looking to her character, hitting the "give" option, giving her the sword. "If you want an extra weapon, I can help with it, too. I've still got more than enough." He told her.

"Thank you," Piper said, unequipping the crossbow and equipping the scimitar. "But like I said, I don't what to be a mooch. And I am going to pay you back." She smiled. "Hey, do you mind if I add you as a friend? That way I can find you again that much easier."

"Sweet as," Piper said, her mother's Kiwi lingo slipping out. She smirked and sent the other player a friend request. "Right. Well... are you in the middle of a quest or anything? Because it might be a good idea for me to have another person in my party until I get used to this game... Only if you're interested, of course."

Justin accepted her friend request, then smiled at her offer. "I'll come along and help you out." He told her. He had already bought her a sword and became her friend. He wanted to see this through and help her out.
