T'rel was not usually brave. He wasn't usually dimglowed enough to look for something frightening; he tended to run in the other direction. Unfortunately for the Weyrling, he had learned the hard way that his beloved green could be quite persuasive. When Lunath wanted to know something, well, T'rel had to go find out for her! And didn't hers realize how very exciting this all was? He could make friends! He would make friends!

They had heard from other weyrlings about the strange sightings. T'rel had intially wanted to avoid the thing all together; who knew what kind of wicked creature was lurking in the dark? Perhaps a wild wher, or a giant tunnelsnake... He didn't know.

Mine, mine! Lunath's voice startled T'rel, and he looked around quickly before realizing the source. Mine, mine! There are others! The weyrling moved his glow to look around, seeing that the green was indeed right. He was comforted when she pressed herself against him.

"I guess more people've seen it than I thought." he mused aloud.

"Hey," Set'al greeted the newest arrival, knowing Pipith would insist they make nice with the goldrider.

Ordinarily, Pipith probably would have noticed the young brown and his rider trying to sneak off - there weren't that many in the group yet, after all, and he took being in charge Very Seriously, even if His didn't. But then the young gold arrived, and no matter her age, a Queen was always a distraction! His eyes swirled green and blue and he dipped his head respectfully as he offered a greeting, Good evening.

We have seen nothing yet. ...speaking of seeing things. Where did the little brown go? He was just here!

Asoth~?
He might have just let it go, if there hadn't been a Queen around.

With the sun dipping, it made everything easier for the scarred blue wher. He gave a skrrrak as he spotted the humans and dragons gathering. Relys watched the small group gather up. His first impression of these riders had been wrong, but really he should have known that. The handler gave a polite nod to S'koi as he passed them by on his way to the main group. Not everyone was group material. It fell to him to ensure as best he and Relysk could the protection of everyone.

"Good evening. I am Relys and my wher is Relysk. We would offer our assistance with this matter." He inclined his head politely to the bronze rider, then another to the young gold and her rider.

As Set'al and Pipith attempted to both woo the queen and her rider as well as keep an eye on the younger members of their group a resounding screech echoed out from the depths of the forest. It was hard to tell exactly where it was coming from but one could certainly say it was louder out here near the woods then it had been back in the Weyr proper.

Something was certainly lurking out in these woods and now that they'd heard it could any of them really turn back? It was doubtful..after all they'd all come out here for some reason or another whether that be following their own curiosity or concern for the Weyr. Because the direction was hard to tell several of the older riders whom had joined the group and were milling about started to look around the edge of the woods for either a path or a clue - anything that might point them in the right direction of course even with the help of glows tracking in the dark was not an easy task!

Cepheith dipped her head in response to Pipith's greeting, glancing around at the others. Amusement drifted through her at Asoth's presence. The brown was really funny to be around, she had to admit. If a little loud at times. Really? Have we missed much then? The gold noticed Luneth approaching as well and gave the green a greeting. Luneth! You have come to join us all as well?

Where Cepheith seemed more at ease, Narisa was still doubtful about this. She stuck close to the gold, offering the others around them a smile. Alright, suck it up, Narisa! Don't act like such a wimp. A flood of warm and affectionate agreement whispered around her from ther bonded. Relaxing a little and drawing on the comfort that they weren't investigating this alone, Narisa attempted to stop cowering next to her dragon.

Now that Pipith brought it up, it was rather quiet. Where was Asoth? Cepheith shifted slightly, glancing around. Asoth? Well this might not be a good thing. Snorting, Cepheith regarded everyone there again. Perhaps we should find at least one other to stick close to at all times? It would not be wise for any of us, especially our humans, to wander off alone until we know what this...strange creature is. This was all said in a honey-warm tone as the young queen tried to think of the best thing to do in a situation like this.

"Hi." She replied to both Set'al and Relys and his wher. "Have you guys seen anything else?" Even as she asked it a screech echoed out from the forest. The goldrider jumped and leaned heavily against her gold counterpart. Cepheith herself tensed, head tilted slightly as she listened. When nothing came out of the forest after them, some of the tension left the gold. Narisa, however, stayed right where she was.

M'lan froze at the sound of the screech, it sounded closer to the others but sometimes in the woods, sound was distorted. The bronze on his shoulder flared his wings and hissed at the noise, Asoth had caught Pipith's query but hadn't answered then but now he felt it was a good time to. "We are over behind you, we are alright, Mine made me promise to call you if we heard anything..... that sound was closer to you than it was to us, we are fine searching here" he transmitted to the Bronze, sounding a lot more assured than he or His felt at that moment. Both young dragon and rider stuck VERY close together, careful not to get parted......oh shards now the Gold was calling him "Cepheith we are fine, it is you and Yours... and the others that are nearer to that sound, i promise i will call you or Pipith if we need to alright?" he added to her. Hoping she wouldn't make him come back to the others, of course he WOULD if it meant showing off to the Gold, buuut... he wanted to be the FIRST to find the thing.. then everyone would be cheering HIM.

Relysk did not like that sound. He answered back with a bold challenge of his own. His head tilted as he listened for a response Relys jumped slightly and his heartrate increase as the screech sounded out suddenly from the silent woods. Whatever the rumors might be, there was definitely something out there. He nearly jumped again as Reylsk called back. A grin crossed his lips for the wher. As long as it wasn't feline......

"Nope. I haven't been here long though." He answered Narisa. A blue streak from the trees caught his attention. The blue flit twittered wildly at him and the wher.
There was something out there! And it made that noise! And where had they been?!?!?!?! Nald's eyes whirled frantically for a moment. Relys held out his arm for the spazzed out blue. A few quiet words and petting helped settle him. "You did good Nald. We'll go check it out right now." He looked around at the group. "We're going in. You can come with us if you want." With that he headed for the woods, walking slowly enough that anyone could easily join him.

Yes, Pipith was quick to agree with the young Queen, though only partially because she was a Queen - it was also a good idea! If it is something bad, no one should be alone, especially the young ones...and that includes you, Asoth! Someone should go with Asoth.

"Nice to meet you, Relys, Relysk." Set'al inclined his head respectfully to the handler and his wher. It would be good to have them along, since the wher would be able to see better than any of them in the dark.

The sudden screech was startling. He was definitely full awake now! "Alright, if anybody doesn't want to stay with the group, at least pair up." The man paused for a moment, realizing that wasn't entirely clear. "Not just with your dragon, but with someone else and theirs."

And that was plenty of responsibility for now, he figured, and headed off after Relys and Relysk.

Shedrawn's eyes widened at the screech. So that was what the creature sounded like. It certainly wasn't anything he had herd before. He poked around the edge of the forest looking for tracks, scales, fur anything. Perhaps the dark was playing tricks on the weyr and it was a wild wherry stuck in a trap? You keep telling yourself that, he thought.

Both rider and dragon were torn. Neither of them liked the idea of one of their fellow weyrlings being alone out there. Well, alone as in only the weyrling pair. Asoth assured me that he and His were alright. Cepheith said privately to Hers, head twisted around to look in the general direction behind them she thought the pair was. She didn't see anything and reluctantly turned back to the group they were nestled amongst.

"We'll definitely be sticking with the group." Narisa piped up, releasing her hold on Cepheith just enough so the gold could move easily. She glanced over her shoulder one last time as well. "Tell them to promise to be safe, golden love?" She said quietly.

Asoth, Mine wishes for you two to promise to be safe. Please don't do anything reckless. We will promise to do the same. Nuzzling her rider, Cepheith started after Pipith and His, who appeared to be following the wher handler and his wher. Narisa kept a hand on the golden hide at all times, watching those around them and the forest warily.

"Does anyone have any ideas on what it might be? Or heard anything like this before?" She asked in an attempt to not be a scared wherry.

S'kiro and his little group of winged friends moved into the forest. They weren't sure what they might find, but it was the best bet to find something. With the rest of the group making noise, it was almost certain that what was out in the woods would be running away. Mine, please try to be silent while walking. We don't want to scare what ever it is out here.

The blue turned back to look at His and gave a nod. He shifted his weight so that he could move a bit softer. It wasn't that easy but somehow the dragon figured it out.

As planned S'koi and Laith hung far back from the group, moving mostly on their own and not directly behind them. Neither was particularly worried about their safety-- they were a capable pair and always very cautious. As it was, they were carefully searching their own surrounding under the light of S'koi's glow, looking for any clues as to what might have been roaming the forest recently. Both paused at the shriek, straining their ears to tell where the sound had come from.

I could not tell the direction, Laith said regretfully, still looking carefully about them.

It is alright, he assured her. We will continue our search in the meantime.

As the group for the most part wandered closer to the woods after the alarming sound and confirmation that there was indeed something out here in the woods S'kiro and Nepthanth happened to wander past an area where it was obvious something large had forced it's way through the brush and onto a gametrail. Broken branches and roughed up ground make it fairly obvious that something had come this way fairly recently.

Further investigation reveals the gametrail leading further into the woods - as there is no indication that the large creature deviated from the trail in the brush to either side then it's probably safe to assume that whatever it was followed the trail. It's probably not wise to go wandering into the woods alone however, a group would be much safer and sanity dictates that the rest of the group be alerted to the discovery.

((Point to Silver for getting the roll closest to mine, please be aware that if you don't fill in an RP post for me to work with..I'll just make an assumption on what your character is doing to move things along. Everyone roll another d100 with their next post ))
