They underestimated him. Daimhin knew that. He didn't take it as an insult just yet. They didn't know any better and hadn't truly seen him in action before. They had no way of telling whether his stories of previous exploits were real or just tall tales. He smirked a little. They'd learn just how dangerous he was soon enough.
"I think I could, yeah," he told Carmilla. "You know, tricking soquili has always been one of the main ways for me to operate." He chuckled, thinking of the time when he had faked a limp and pretended to be injured to lure the pokesoquili back to his lair. It had worked like a charm, even if the other soquili had been a little suspicious. The captured stallion had ended up escaping, but that wasn't the fault of Daimhin's lack of convincing. His captive had found his way out through a back exit to the cave that Daimhin hadn't ever noticed. Not his fault, certainly.

"All right," cut in Svanbjorn. They could banter back and forth about who was better at what all day. He knew this to be true, because he had had many long arguments with Carmilla on the subject in the years they had been together. If they wanted to actually get anything done today, doubtful as that was, they had to get to the point.
"What we need first is some sort of plan. I propose that we each scout in a different direction to look for families with foals. Obviously we cannot have much of a mission of we don't have much of a target." Scouting would be easiest for him, of course. He could fly, a far superior method of travel when compared to walking along the ground. He could zip out and back again in the time it took them to get ready.

Carmilla glanced at her mate in irritation. She recognized that tactic he was using. It was one of his favorite change the subject tactics, a way to stall when he was bored with the conversation. She wasn't quite finished with Daimhin yet and resented that Svan would try to cut her out of her own conversation in such a brusque manner.
"We're still not even certain if all of our members are equal to the task of stealing away a foal individually." She gave a pointed look to the large gray stallion. "We should be doing things as a group until we know what everyone's capabilities are. We wouldn't want to warn the families ahead of time and scare them off from the mission, after all."

"A group?" scoffed Daimhin. He didn't require babysitting. He guessed that he had the most scheming and sneaking experience out of any of the other soquili present. At the very least he was better at it than Carmilla. She obviously relied on Svanbjorn for everything, which meant that she herself was little more than dead weight. "We need to do it individually."
Smiling conspiratorially, he laid out the plan to them. "See, if we go individually it greatly increases our chances of success. We don't need to go running back to the group for back-up. By then, the target might have moved on. What we need to do is make this a sequence of individual missions. Each of us goes out and each tries to bring a foal back with us. Three separate missions, three chances for success."
