User ImageMiss nodded acknowledgingly at the red and yellow doe.

"Glad to have amused you," he said, turning back to the other females as the small, rather scratchy mongoose bristled on his head. As soon as the female had taken her pet back, he nodded.

"Excellent! I'd be dissapointed if you did go easy on me," he said, then turned back to the purple doe.

"Yes, possibly. I'd need to find someone willing to lend me their mongooses to do so, though... and that might be a little difficult, let alone maintaining the playing field. As for ruining our game, hardly. If anything, you could call your entrance a creative improvement."
he reassured her. Nobody seemed to be asking his name, so for the time being, he could keep it to himself. A bit of information could go a long way in a game of words, after all.

Peeper swung his head around to look at the kimeti who had shoved their face in his side. "Erm." And suddenly there was something pale green and glowing illuminating the cave and the mess in it. It was so pale it didn't actually light up anything, but all the same, he had to be able to see who was snuffling his chest. "Excuse me. Only Nettle's allowed to do that."

He didn't recognize the top of the kimeti's head, or the rest of her body-- "And you're not Nettle." But he knew that.

Her warm poof talked back. Startled but nonplussed, she languidly looked at the source. Green glows met her own stare. From that she could discern, the warm poof belonged to a kimeti with .. really smooth buttocks. Stag came the answer automatically. And pink. Warily she looked back at its eyes. Nettle, eh? Hmmm.

"Captain Obvious strikes again." she stated simply. She inched closer to his fluffy flank, but not quite touching it. "So, who is this Nettle?" Doom was the type of kimeti who invaded other's personal area, but didn't allow any the same courtesy. She again burrowed her face into his soft cloud. No fear!

His tail flicked out to bop her on the side lightly. "Nettle's my Nettle." As if that made sense. He blinked at her. "He's -- Nettle. I don't know, he's my Nettle. He's orange and grey and has this beard and sometimes he's a snake and he's kind of bony and awkward looking, but he moves in this really neat way and I really like him and I don't think you should be doing that, or -- or -- um." Or something.

Or what, though?

Did he really just hit her? She mentally added "batshit insane" and "has a deathwish" right behind "nice a**." It's good to categorize things; keeps things nice and tidy. Her pink cloud was obsessed with a bearded snake.

To say she had noticed the other kimeti would have been an understatement. They were speaking loudly at the lip of the entrance and boy did it echo. She looked slyly at the glow and back at her flowery cloud whispering, "This Nettle.. does he like rare things?" She inched closer and hovered her head right at his neck.

"He likes me!" Was Peeper rare? She was -- this kimei was nuts. Peeper backed up rapidly, pulling his hooves together and hunching his back to keep all of him smushed close together. He didn't want her to get any of him. "And what's your name, anyway?" He bit down in you're kind of creepy with massive effort.

Doom couldn't pull off harmless to save her life. She tried to flatten her features out in what she hoped was the paradigm of sweetness but her face hurt too much and it was dark. But she did feel the unease radiate from the stag. She wanted her warm poof back! Maybe Doom and Look-See could somehow help her "alleviate" this kimeti of all his extra fur that stood on end. It was sinfully soft. But the more he pulled away, the more determined she became to.. to what? Yes, he was soft, but it was a fleeting feeling. She could possibly try to lead him back but to what effect? He would just leave for his "Nettle." She wasn't even sure if Nettle existed. Legendaries tend to move in weird circles. But she had her eye on the prize, even if she was constantly straining her eyes to stare at his a** or fur. He was interesting. The glow in the corner moreso.

"The nickname's Bloom." she evaded easily enough. "What's your name? What are you doing here in this creepy cavern?" She had to act quickly before the others caught on.

Well, if his spelunking partner had wanted to escape the crowd, this was the perfect room to do so at. Humble personally didn't mind being around LOTS of others... When packed into a small room though, it got uncomfortable. And River didn't seem like the type to care for crowds, so certainly he wanted to make her happy while they were adventuring.

But in this room, you couldn't even see if there was a crowd. He chuckled softly, stepping into the room just far enough to where River could still see him, but not close enough to be blocking the entrance. He felt something touch his shoulder, something cold, not the touch of another being. It made him shudder, but he pressed himself against it further, and after a few moments of pushing he realized it was just a plant of some type. He considered tugging it off the wall to show his friend, but decided against it - the muddy acha from the front had worked hard to put all of it up, and he ought not to ruin it.

"Miss River? It's very dark in here, we'd best stick close." He squinted into the darkness, trying to make out the best spots for them to search for River Stone's ghost. "There's some glowy bits in here... Do you know if ghosts like glowing things?"

"Uh. It's Peeper." Bloom was creepy. He'd remember that and pass it on to Nettle, maybe. If he could remember it. "I came -- I guess -- I was bored and I just -- there were a whole bunch of people going in so I --" was terribly uncomfortable. "--would you mind backing up?"

I wish... it was like she was back as a silly filly with colty gloomy playing the "I wish" game. But as she was older, completed goals were better. She wished to extend her time with Peeper. Fluff, soft, so ******** pink but a Stag. She wanted to pick his brain, especially about this Nettle, who she was pretty sure was damn imaginary.

Blatantly ignoring his request she leaned in conspiratorially, but taking care not to touch or scare him off and dropped her voice above a whisper, "I have an idea. Let's go see what the glow is and take it for ourselves. You can bring it back to your.. Nettle and I can surprise my own family."

Up until this very moment, everything they felt moving in the dark was merely a matter of imagination. It was branches shifting in the wake of their passing, moss that clung a little to fur before it fell back into position against the wall. It was a breath of wind up against one flank, from somewhere deeper in the cave, a gap just barely enough to let the air tunnel through and out again.

But. This moment, something else was there in the cave with them. This moment, they'd start hearing the click, click, click of tiny claws against the stone on the ground. This moment, they'd see glowing, ghostly shapes at the edges of their vision, feel the swish of soft tails against their legs.

And then whatever had been released into the cave with them started to bite.

Doom was the first victim, but she certainly wouldn't be the last. Sharp teeth nipped at the back of one hind leg, low to the ground, and there was a low hiss before the creature moved on to another kimeti.

The movement in the cave was definitely no longer merely their imaginations.

Yeah. She was just bitten and it was not kinky. At all.

Seeing red, she lashed out and traipsed across the small cave without a care in the world. She didn't know who she ran into, nor did she notice the telltale signs of low clicks and the ghostly, burly shapes that haunted her peripheral vision.

Peeper all but forgotten, she continued her rampage, creating more damage than helping save Peeper and others from exactly what? Inarticulate words were strangled out of her mouth, adrenaline constricting her throat. She raged on, cutting herself in the process and tangling her cute bob. Talk about role reversal!

Havemercy smiled at the new doe. She seemed nice -- she liked her. "It's nice to meet you too, Wings Sleep, though I can't really see you. You can just call me Have." The red doe looked back toward where she could hear the buck speaking, and snorted in amusement. "Well, you're welcome to play with my mongeese...though Rook, my other one, seems to have made a run for it." She gestured toward the entrance of the cave with her head, realizing only after she did so that the others probably couldn't see the movement. Oh well. The cave that had seemed a bit creepy at first no longer really phased her. It was just dark, after all -- and she wasn't afraid of the dark. Or things she couldn't see, unless they --

bit! "Ouch!" Have jumped, surprised. "What was that? Did something just bite me?" She only had a moment to look around frantically, trying to see something in the glowing darkness before someone stumbled into her, knocking her off her feet. She let out a strangled sort of "Ack!" sound as she fell, her hooves unable to keep their purchase on the slimy floor of the cave. Pawn clung tightly to Have's head, her little mongoose claws digging into her master's skin and leaving little puncture marks.

User Image It was her again! Hero saw her go in, and did his best to follow. There was one of those new acha and some other kimeti that he slunk past, and he was doing well until it was... well, black.

The buck had stood still until his eyes accustomed to the darkness and he could kind of see - at least the slight shadows.

And then she talked, and Hero walked in that direction further. His mind was set on getting to her. Her voice was the same - that sense of ironic disappointment. Adventure had followed, as was natural. But with this long distances, well... she was always a few strides behind, if not more.

Hero even got a name, he should try this mystery-work more often instead of barging into things. Her name was Bloom, and he was about to reach her when... he was being bitten!

As usually, his thoughts immediately went to Adventure, who enjoyed tormenting him, that cursed caiman. "Adventure!" he hissed, "quit it, that isn't funny!"

But there was a growl to his left and bright yellow eyes sparked in the glow of his own. Adventure was not biting him, then... who was?

"I demand you to stop!" Hero started circling and moving forward at the same time, he was sure his rump brushed again Bloom, but he was too preoccupied to notice.

Most kimeti she met eventually remembered they'd left their den on fire when they realized that Sink was usually on the horns of a dilemma, mired up in indecision so deep it was hard for her to climb back out. It always left her feeling awful, but -- eventually she would move on, wondering whether or not it would be wise to try again, or whether if she'd tried option B instead of option A, would something have happened.

(It was not proper behavior for a daughter of a kimeti more or less known for his rash decisions and charismatic nature.)

Here, the only reason she'd managed to pick this cave is because someone in their haste had all but shoved her into it; she'd stumbled into the dark cave with a yelp, had immediately stepped in something gross, and now tried to shimmy over against a wall to get out of the gross stuff on the floor. There was a pile of glowing -- something -- there, and Sink tried to get towards that, just so she could see.

"Who put all this stuff in this-- OW!" Another yelp; someone had crept up behind her and nipped at her ankles. It wasn't hard enough to draw blood, because her heavy fur prevented it -- but it was definitely hard enough to hurt. The question now was what to do about it.
