The doctor looked over at the numbers, and chuckled a bit. "Well, your blood pressure's a big high - but nothing out of the ordinary for nerves." He commented. "Even so, I'll have one of the nurses weigh you before you leave here."
He withdrew a penlight from his pocket, and clicked it on, pointing at the poster on the other side of the wall - which happened to be of a merman emerging out of the water.
"If you'll look straight ahead over there at the merman?" he asked, walking over to turn out the light. "Just look straight ahead there." Moving around to the other side of Clover, he used his fingers to lightly pry open his eye, and did a quick examination of the sclera and pupil, searching for anything to be concerned about.

Clover looked down at him in a curious manner, wondering if he were overweight or something in a worried manner, "Alright, oh I hope that I am not getting sick. It would be quite tough to take care of Snowe if I were." He murmured to himself, "I wonder if Atarah or Stephen would help in looking after him." He sure hoped so, both of them were a little iffy around the bear boy since he was a sudden addition to their lives but Clover was known for doing things spur of the moment. It was part of why they loved him and part of why they were always worried about what he would do next.
"The merman?" He glanced over at it then giggle, "This seems so strange. So tell me, Doc, is this a legit sort of physical or did you want to see me in this get up?" He asked in a teasing manner. If he had a tail it would likely be wagging at the moment, seeming to be having fun in teasing and flirting with the cute Doctor, curious what sort of reaction it was that he might get from him.

Shawn pulled back with a chuckle after examining both eyes pretty thoroughly. He went to switch the light back on as he answered the question.
"It's a legit exam." he said, smirking. "Although I could conduct an exam of a more private nature at your leisure."
He winked, and rested his hands on both of Clover's shoulders. "I can see that your balance is alright. Your eyes look good, and your skin is in good shape. Want to listen to your heart and lungs, and feel around in your abdomen a bit to make sure everything's okay. That's fine with you, right?"

Clover blinked a couple times once the doctor was done examining them before he gave a smile, "Alright, so long as it's a real exam." He said, giving a bit of a laugh. He was starting to wonder for a moment, especially when he was told to look at the merman. It had shown him just how odd the situation was since the place seemed to be a child's hospital, not an adult one. That the man said it was legit though was enough for him to believe him.
The young man gave a smile as he felt the doctor's hands come to rest on his shoulders and he was told what all was good as far as his exam was going thus far before the man said he wanted to check his heart, lungs, and abdomen and the blond nodded, "Sure! I don't mind." He said, not bothered at all. Instead he would do what was needed to be done to make sure that he was healthy enough to be a good parent to his son. He couldn't really think of anything that he should ask about or worry about. He felt fine but he would leave it up to the doctor to decide all of that, "Do you need me to lay back? Or is that after you listen to my heart and lungs?" As he asked that he gave a little giggle.

Another soft chuckle as Shawn started to explain what he was going to do. He tapped each area for emphasis as he went over the exact methods he was going to use.
"First, I'm going to listen to your lungs, which I'll have you sit up for. Then, I'll have you lay down at an angle so I can listen to your heartbeat, then lay you down flat to prod your abdomen a bit. After that, I'll send in one of my best nurses to draw some blood from you - I'll ask her to do it lying down in case you faint if you want."
He put his stethoscope on, and untied the back of the gown so that he had access to Clover's entire back. He warmed the stethoscope in his hand, and pressed it to Clover's skin.
"Alright, deep breath for me."

Clover gave a nod of his head, "Alright." He murmured, not to worried it would seem. The blond already seemed to trust the doctor well enough so he saw no reason to be worried about any of what was going on, "I should be alright to have the blood drawn, it's more Snowe I am worried about. Poor little bear, I don't want him to think that I brought him here just to get poked at." He said. While he wasn't worried for himself he was worried for his son. While he was a bit of a ditz, especially on his own, he was over protective when it came to his son, worrying over a lot when it came to his little bear.
"Deep breath, alright." He said, popping out of his deep thoughts, something he didn't really spend to much time doing except when it came to Snowe. For the moment he did as he was told, drawing in a deep breath for the doctor, and decided to focus more on his own exam. He really should pay attention, to make sure that he himself was alright, then he could return to worrying over Snowe once the boy was allowed to join them again. Given all that was going on, the drawing of blood especially, Clover was glad that Snowe wasn't allowed to stay and watch. He was certain that it would likely scare the little cub to see his Daddy poked and prodded at by a stranger.
As his blue eyes came to focus on Shawn a part of him was rather curious about what it was that he was hearing but figured that the man would tell him soon enough. Best not say anything, what if those things he was using made his voice louder. He wouldn't want to seem as though he were trying to make the man go deaf or something. Best to stay quiet for now.

Shawn listened closely to each lung field, moving down and across. He listened in each area for the space of one full breath, checking for anything abnormal as he went. Pops, crackles, wheezing, anything that would need to be paid closer attention. Finding nothing, he removed his stethoscope, and put it around his neck again.
"Alright, your lungs sound fine." He pushed him slightly to lay down, and adjusted the pillow placed on the exam table, raising it up a bit.
"Maybe you could help me with something, though. My child has.. next to no friends. Would you be interested in Snowe and him meeting at all?"

Clover gave a smile when he was told that his lungs sounded fine. He wasn't really sure why he was worried but hearing that still put him at ease. It were as though he were worried that other people's bad habits might have gotten to him like he'd heard about on the television but to hear he was alright was good. At the doctor's assistance he laid back on the exam table, shifting a bit to get as comfortable as was possible on the somewhat uncomfortable table.
"Help you?" He asked, wondering what there was that he could do for a doctor. A moment later though the man was mentioning how his son had few friends and was asking if he could meet Snowe. The blond nodded, "Yeah, I think that Snowe would like to meet someone that is closer to his own age." He was sure that playing with Shawn's child would be more interesting to the polar bear then having to constantly hang out with adults for sure, "I will give you our address and numbers so that you can come over whenever you and your son would like to visit us." He offered, not even thinking twice on it.

The doctor nodded a bit, and smiled. "I'd like that And I think Lexan would too. They might meet out in the waiting room, since Lexan always comes with me every day - whether I tell him to stay home or not." He chuckled. "Children will be children, after all."
He put his stethoscope back on, and folded down the front of the gown to get at Clover's chest. "Just breathe normally for me." he murmured, warming the thing in his palm before setting the disc down on Clover's skin, listening.
As he concentrated on each area, he searched for anything obviously wrong. He was listening for murmurs, skips, rhythm hitches, arrythmia of any kind... But did not hear any. Clear, crisp, and clean beats, each snapping shut and open perfectly. A picture of health.
"Your heart sounds good." he commented, taking off the stethoscope. "Healthy living?" he asked, moving the gown down a little more, so he could use his palms and fingers to check for the location and size of Clover's lower abdominal organs.

Clover gave a nod, "The more the merrier." He said, not really minding if this person called 'Lexan' came along as well. He rather liked company after all so if that person wanted to come along as well it would be one more person for Snowe to meet and play with.
The exam went by quickly enough, with Clover doing as he was told and breathing at a normal pace, before that question was posed to him. Healthy living. He thought on it for a moment, "Ahh... well I rather like candy... and drink wine from time to time when the twins come over. One of them, Atarah, he smokes but I woke let him do so inside since I don't want Snowe getting sick so he has to go out on the balcony to do that." He said, figuring it best for him to say everything that might be unhealthy. It would be a terrible idea after all to lie to a doctor since the man was only doing this to make sure he was well.
As the man started to poke at his belly he lifted up slightly, propping himself up with his elbows to watch, "So what are you doing now?" He asked in a curious voice.

He pushed him gently to lay back down, flat on his back. "I need you flat. I'm feeling for the edges of certain organs, making sure they're in the right place, and are the right size."
Pressing deep enough to be just a bit painful, he explained what he was feeling. "I can feel your kidneys here, and the edge of your liver is here. This is the bend of your intestine, and this here... is the base of your liver."
After explaining, he pulled away, feeling a few other areas before he let Clover up. "Alright. That should juuuust about do it. Everything looks good. Now, all we have to do is take some blood and send it off, and we'll get the results back in about a week."

Clover gave a little pout when he was laid back down, now unable to see well what the man was doing. At points in the inspection, which made some sense to him when explained though why his insides might be in the wrong place or the wrong size was totally lost on him. From time to time the blond would twitch, toes curling, and he'd bite his lip to keep from giggling, seeming as though he were a bit ticklish where the doctor was poking at him, "Ahh... haha... I see." He said when Shawn explained to him where everything was and what it was. He was trying, really trying, to pay attention but it was a little hard to do when you were being tickled.
A moment later Shawn gave him mercy and he breathed a sigh of relief, waiting until the other seemed to be done and only then did he sit up, "All good? Wonderful!" He was glad to hear that there was nothing to worry about, well other then that whole giving blood thing. Hopping off the table he moved over to where his folded up clothing was sitting, gathering it up, "Should I wait to get dressed until after the blood? Or should I dress first and pull up my sleeve?" He asked of the man curiously.

Shawn gave a chuckle. "I'd much prefer it if you got dressed. After all, the nurses come in to draw blood, not me. And I highly doubt that - as nice as your figure is - they'd really want to come in to a naked man."
He patted his shoulder. "They should be just about ready for Snowe, too - but I will let you decide whether or not to hold him while it's going on. Some parents like to, some don't. It's a matter of ch-"
He broke off as there was a giant crash outside the exam room. "... That will be my son." Taking the phone number from before and tucking it in his pocket, he ripped off a piece of blank paper, and wrote his own down with a pen, handing it to Clover. "My personal number, in case you would like to contact me outside of office hours." he said. "If you know where the Crossroads are, I live over there."

Clover gave a bit of a chuckle and a nod, "Alright, I will get dressed quickly." He said, a little surprised by this one. The man was quite professional, wasn't he? He'd never dealt with a man that didn't at least make a pass at him. Maybe he wasn't the man's type he thought to himself before he he started to dress himself quickly, making sure that the gown kept everything modest. Once he had his bottoms on he shrugged out of the gown so he could pull on his shirt. At the question posed him he gave a smile, "I will hold him, that way I can try to reassure him while you take the blood." He didn't want for his son to think he was giving him over to strange people so they could poke at him and steal his blood, he was sure that would just traumatize the poor little bear!
A jolt went through the blond's form as he heard the crash, turning to look in that direction, then looked back to Shawn, "You son... is he alright?" He asked, sounding a little worried. After such a crash... had he gotten hurt? The doctor didn't seem concerned, did that mean that ti was a normal thing? He gave a thoughtful sound before he watched as the man wrote down his number and held it out to him, "Thank you." He said, tucking it into his pocket.
"Crossroads, I think so." Maybe. It sounded familiar though if he could find it was another question. If not he could always look it up online on his phone if he wanted to find his way to the area... though he was sure that if he appeared in such a place at random it might look to be a little strange. The last thing he wanted was to seem like a stalker or something because he stopped by without calling first, "I will be sure to call if I have any important questions about Snowe's health and I can't get a hold of you here."

Shawn shrugged a bit. "Lexan's always getting into things. I doubt he's hurt. He's probably just stuck in the machine again. I'll have to open the glass and let him out." he said, jotting down some final notes for the nurses.
"And I'm pretty much always available at that number - day or night. I am going to want to recommend you check out a book at the library. And follow the diet in it for Snowe."
He wrote down the name of the book on a prescription paper.
"It's called When To Draw The Line by Alma Porterson. I find it's very helpful when trying to convince children to stick to a diet. It's also got some very helpful tips on behavior and the like. Shouldn't be too spendy, since you're getting it from the library. We DO have a copy at reception, but that's my personal copy. You can borrow it if you think you won't be at the library any time soon."
