Painite laughed, shaking her head. She wasn't exactly tall, so she could hardly pick on someone for their size. But she did anyway, because it was fun, and if she saw something to make a comment on, she would take the chance. In truth, she hadn't even been thinking about that, but she'd own it like she had totally meant to tease his lack of height.

Totally.

"We are so on for the gallery. I was just thinking about ti!"

Painite braced herself as the brush slammed into her arm, and was a harder hit than she had anticipated. Her small size was a curse at the moment, coming back to bite her, and she fell sideways with an 'oomph'.

"Well, you can certainly get some power behind that. If you can surprise your opponent with a swing like that, you'd certainly beat them." She got to her feet, brushing herself off. "I think you've got some good ideas and control. You might want to practice with both ends, and using it as a counter balance. I still think calling it and banishing it is a good way to go, too, for the element of surprise and to un-encumber yourself in a fight."

She grinned. "But maybe I'm bias, because that's how I like to play." She teleported then, covering the short distance between them and reappearing in front of him, weapon in hand and between them, spear point under his jaw. She grinned at him. "What about close quarter fighting?"

He was rather used to comments on his lack of height, so he had simply assumed. It wasn't something he minded, seeing as he was perfectly fine with being less then...average male height. He had half the females in his class taller than him even.

"Good! Then we had better work on a plan soon." A smile in place, he was happy to hit up an art gallery full of poor examples of art. There would be enough people, that was for sure, they could make a nice haul he was sure.

"I've found the only way to swing it and do damage is to put my weight as the counter balance and let the brush lead. But yeah, I might work more on banishing it and calling it only when I need to put some distance between me and a senshi. I just find using the pointed end a bit harder, if I want to use it like a spear, as the brush gets in the way and I wind up tucking it under my arm." Which meant his aim could be off and the brush had to be held under an arm which was a less than good way to grip the weapon. That was the big thing he saw when using it like that, the grip was less than ideal.

Tilting his head up at the sudden point at his throat. "I've yet to try that. I've only used it a bit to swing and...stab at someone. Care to teach me how to close in fight with this?" He questioned, giving a grin.

That was an interesting challenge. She was not exactly sure, right away, how to fight with such a large weapon in a small space. It might be the biggest disadvantage he had, though the thing was probably at least useful for putting and keeping distance between him and his target.

She took a step back, looking thoughtful, tapping her spear against the side of her head as she pondered things. The fight had abruptly stopped, but she imagined he knew better than to assume she would not attack him again. She would, just when she wanted.

"Well, that thing can't be swung easily when an opponent gets up close, can it? At least a senshi can't teleport, so the chances of one suddenly appearing in your personal space is small." She grinned.

But it was always best to be prepared.

"Up close I might try using it to smash. Legs, feet. Drive opponents back. Unless you can surprise me." She charged at him again, not using her weapon now and switching to just her fists.

"No, it can't, and indeed that is a good thing. Meaning if one charges in I should be able to catch it soon enough to swing and keep them from getting into my personal space." Which was a good thing in the case of certain attacks he was sure. He wasn't sure how all senshi attacks work but maybe he'd be able to avoid what had happened, what seemed so long ago now, with that senshi in the torn up uniform. Her hands had been touching him when she'd used her attack. He didn't know if that was a need to launch the attack though. If it was he could avoid it better.

Taking her words into considering, especially going for feet, he turned his weapon as Painite came toward him and raised it. The pointed end aiming for one of the general's booted feet as it came down. It was a good idea, not something he'd thought of actually. He was getting used to this new weapon still.

"I suspect I could also bring it up between the legs of a senshi if need be." Though that would be a little awkward, holding the brush to his chest and swinging just the bottom end up and between an opponents legs. But that could do some damage as well. What would Painite's take on the idea be though? He wondered that even as he hoped his aim for her foot was true.

Painite knew that senshi had their stupid magic to help them, which was cheap but effective in their fighting. They had an unpredictable element, each one, but so did the Negaverse. Every weapon was different, and every style was unique. There was no real way to be ready for every situation, but they had to practice for all of them.

Why not? No harm in being as prepared for whatever could possibly happen as possible, right? Possibly.

Painite tried to pull her foot out of the way, but her forward momentum made that awkward. Even as she avoided getting her foot squashed she was still barreling forward and now she only had one leg in on the action. She couldn't get her leg where it needed to be, so she pitched forward awkwardly and slammed into him with one off set shoulder instead of being able to attack like she wanted to.

"Oomph!" She protested, surprised. That large brush was certainly big enough to get in someone's way. She heard him mention hitting a senshi between the legs with it, and imagined that would be an effective fighting method, too. But she was too busy to comment.

As was he too busy as well. He hadn't expected her to fall into him. His arms went about her as he fell backward and at the same time he banished his brush. As he landed, back to the ground with a woosh of air escaping him, he rolled them over and brought his legs tight to Painite's sides to keep her from wiggling away.

Well he had just seen how good using his brush to stamp a persons foot was, even if it didn't hit! It proved an effective method to be used against a senshi.

"I think I've got you General." Smiling down at her, brush gone for the moment. He had her pinned and was working for her hands. "Your alright?" He wanted to make sure of that, even though this was still training he had to know she was alright.

Painite looked up at him, grinning ear to ear.

"I think you do, too," she said with a nod. Though, of course, she could have called her weapon and made things a bit more interesting, but there was no point continuing on when they were both there to learn, and she wasn't actually aiming to win. Plus, she was impressed and not even thinking about it.

He had her pinned, and she stared up at him in wonder. When had one of her boys gotten so strong and capable? She felt a wealth of pride in her chest, not just for him but because of him, seeing him as a Captain, seeing his eagerness to learn.

"Of course," she said, smiling. Her voice had a little whimsy to it, her thoughts not too clear, but her attitude light and her eyes shining. She pushed up against him, using her strength granted by her rank to do so, but once she was free she just caught him in an awkward hug.

She couldn't help it, she was a hugger.

Smiling brightly he hugged her back, moving in to press a kiss to her cheek. "Glad your alright, I don't ever want to see you not." He would do whatever he had, to if she was ever not ok, in order to correct it. She was as good as family, she looked out for him and wanted him to do better - be better.

"Clearly I'm getting better, thanks to you. I've been learning, though I still need to work on more with you plot wise and fighting." He spoke into her shoulder as he hugged her, arms about her shoulders.

"Do you want to continue tonight with training?" He asked seriously, watching the shorter haired officer. "Or we could part ways for the evening, patrol, or plot. Whatever pleases you this evening, seeing as I called out you tonight.

Painite smiled at him, ruffling his long hair teasingly. She imagined he was going to get a lot of jokes about the covers of romance novels, especially when the wind was blowing. In fact, she would pocket that thought for later, as there was not much of a breeze out tonight and she didn't want to waste it.

"Thanks to yourself, I'm just a facilitator. You're the one with the confidence and drive to get further ahead, be stronger, be better. Keep training and doing what you're doing, and there will be no stopping you."

She smiled at him, chuckling as she pulled back. She could hug him all day, of course, and not get tired of it, but they had things to do. And she didn't think he was going to be going anywhere, in the scheme of things. There was no way he'd get rid of her now, now that she had started to watch his progress, and was involved.

"Let's call it a night on the training," she said with a nod, "I think you've got some good ideas, and if you hash them out a bit we can rematch very soon, and keep perfecting your style. We have a devious plot to figure out, right?" She imagined they could wander around, drain some energy, and figure out the details until they got bored or tired and needed to head to their respective homes.

He really had no idea his hair could be compared to such a thing, especially now since it was down. At least he kept it back at all other times in his life, it did get in the way. Another thing for him to learn to work around and work with. if anything he thought he looked a bit more feminine, not like he was off a cheap romance novel cover.

"I don't want to be lost...adrift with no land in sight and no direction. It's as simple as that." He didn't like having questing, having to flounder in a fight. None of it sat well with him and it drove him to do better, to be better.

"Yes, that we do." Smiling as he went to find himself a seat on the roofs edge, almost where he'd been sitting when Painite had arrived. "Now, for the art gallery...do we want to grab people as they go into the bathroom or do we want to just walk in and cover entrenches and exits and grab everyone? We could grab back and front entrance and make our way toward the center of the building." Grabbing energy on the way.

Painite nodded her head. She knew what he meant, and certainly could relate to it. She had never liked feeling stuck, not propelling herself forward, chasing some stupid goal or the next, working toward being bigger and better than she was before. She liked that about him, because he was so determined, he did remind her of herself, but that wasn't the thing she liked best.

Really, she liked that he went along with her plans, and came up with his own.

"I was thinking we could rig the art itself somehow," she said thoughtfully, "but I like the idea of getting them as they go in and go out, too. Maybe not the bathroom, since they might be in parties and if they split up too long they'd notice. Yeah, let's see."

She laughed thoughtfully, nodding her head.

"If we can play subtle, we can get them on the way in, drain enough to make them miserable, you know. They certainly won't be enjoying that 'art' that way, right?"

It was his new found dislike of the unknown, of needing to know; to have answers, which had him feeling a drift and searching constantly. It was like a never ending quest to become more, to do more, to be better and to learn and understand every aspect of this war which could have a light shone upon it. He didn't like seeming like he was lesser than the senshi he encountered, like he was less trained or less knowing. This was what drove him and what he learned had given birth to his loyalty to the Negaverse and solidified it, made it strong and unwavering. There was no chance he would change sides, though he certainly would eventually over work himself and have some sort of a crash. He had, in the beginning, had his transgression but had made up for it and was planning to somehow turn that transgression in to something more. He just needed that plan to work, and more time to plan it properly.

Shaking his head he smiled. "No, they certainly won't. Though I do believe if they realized exactly what they were looking at they'd be miserable anyway. That aside though I like the idea of grabbing them as they come in and taking only a little. It should go without much notice, no one would be unconscious and it wouldn't put us in the spot light for being who we are." Negaverse agents. It wouldn't draw negative attention to their side in this war. He didn't want any press, bad press, for the Negaverse. They didn't need it, and didn't deserve it. If they could do this without anyone having a clue that would be perfect. "Yes, I see the issue with bathrooms, something I hadn't thought of to be honest. What did you plan for with rigging the art itself. I'd like to hear about that; because it was nothing I'd thought of. I didn't see how it could be done."
