As they continued on their way though to their desitination, he started to notice the tell tail signs of a bears den. There was so much loose fur in the surrounding area that he knew that there was bears in the near vecinity. He continued to look around but then realized that the young shinobi that he was going with, had taken point yet again. Takeshi sighed lightly as he watched Cruxis "float" over and around the bears. While Cruxis was doing this, Takeshi shifted his weight onto the front of his feet. His preperations seemed to be right as it seemed that the forces that kept this young shinobi above the ground woke one of the bears. It arose from its slumber and stretched, then stood on all fours. Even though it wasn't on it's hind legs, Takeshi knew that it could still deal some serious damage at this point. He knew that this wasn't going to end well though, So he knew that he needed to hurry. Takeshi rushed though the bears that Cruxis snuck passed and placed himself in front of Cruxis. He then felt the paw strike his back as he threw Cruxis back into the area of which they entered the area to. It was then when he felt the sharp pain in which where the bear stuck. crap.... He just broke the bone.... With that, He himself decided to get himself out of there as well. So he rushed out of the area as fast as he could and figured that he'd remain quiet for the moment until everyone was able to re-group.
{Strength(x2) +Strength buff(x2) + Accuracy + Item buff + Jutsu Buff 200(400) + 0 + 20 + 0 + 0 420 vs 100 = 320 = +32% Takeshi jutsu (Self) vs Bear (touch) [1-0=1 which = +1%] 50 + 33 = 83% Chance to defend successfully for Cruxis}

As he rushed towards the location where the consciousnesses of his team mates were, Notwen felt a disturbance in the area. It appeared that one of them had awoken the bears, which meant that they were in danger. Crap... thought the dark-skinned blonde. He would have been able to move faster, but his fight with the big black bear had left him exhausted. Hopefully they don't get badly injured. After a few minutes of traveling, Notwen found the others not far from what appeared to be a den of bears. Pausing on the branch above them, the three-eyed Uchiha assessed the injuries they had taken. They weren't severe, but if being struck by the bears did that much, they couldn't afford to fail at sneaking past them more than two more times. "You guys should have waited for me before trying to sneak by the bears. Let's wait here. I need to catch my breath from dealing with that brute of a bear before attempting to sneak by. You guys should also tend to whatever injuries you've taken." After a pause Notwen resumed speaking. "I will go first next time. I have more of a chance at sneaking by the bears so i can help you guys through if the need arises. What happened to cause the bears to notice your presence anyway?"

Cruxis's combat stance froze up as the bear lunged towards him; his brain freezing up as the massive beast glared at him , swinging a massive paw towards them. Before he could react, the Kaguya leapt in front of the attack, taking the brunt of the attack as Cruxis finally regained his senses, and upon noticing Takeshi darting out of the situation, his bukujutsu was up again, sending him launching up towards the treeline. Moving out of the den area, Cruxis landed carefully and looked to Takeshi; a degree of guilt settling in for the injury the Kaguya had taken. "I'm sorry..." he muttered; sighting Notwen arriving in the area. Unfortunately Cruxis had not learned any healing arts and was fairly useless at aiding the situation. He imagined that the bone armor provided by the Kaguya's kekki-genkai had allowed him to endure the worst of it; but still the fact that he'd not thought to sneak properly around the bears and instead had tried to fly over them. Once in a safe distance, Takeshi could breath a minor sigh of relief knowing that they weren't in direct danger at the moment. It wasn't long until he noticed Notwen had re-joined them. It seemed that Notwen wasn't all that happy about what had happened, which he couldn't blame him for. They'd went further then what they were instructed to. But then again, they weren't told to wait for him. Ether way there was no need to argue about minor details at this moment. What was truly on his mind right now was the blood he could feel trickling down his back. He rolled his shoulders trying to get a feel for exactly how bad the cuts or gashes on his back were. He listened to Notwen speak about how they should have waited, and how after he catches his breath that he wants to attempt this again but with him going inside first this time. Then the question of how the bears noticed them happened. It was then that he heard Cruxis softly mutter that he was sorry. It was this point in which he looked over to Notwen and said "What happened was that Cruxis was attempting to some what fly over the bears.... But they ended up noticing the movement and woke up..." It was then that he moved over to Cruxis and moved both of them a few steps from where they were originally. "As of right now, there's nothing to be sorry about alright? What happened was a simple mis-calculation in which I had to react to. Nothing more, but what I want you to know is that if you're pride trying to show that you're more then dead-weight is apart of you jumping ahead of everyone yet again... that's even worse then what happened, it can get people hurt worse then me, or maybe even killed. I'm not trying to frighten you, but I just want you to know that there's no reason to show off alright?". It was then that he felt the wound again. He wasn't sure how bad it was. He then moved back towards Notwen and sighed. "Unfortunately I don't know any medical skills... Can you tell me how bad it is?" It was then that he turned his back to Notwen so he could assess his wounds.

Notwen listened intently as Takeshi recounted the brief chain of events that occurred prior to his arrival. What the dark-skinned blonde heard caused him to rest his face in the palm of his hand and sigh. Who in their right mind would try something so stupid?! he thought. Then again i have had my fair share of odd decisions when i first started out so i can't criticize his decisions. As Notwen's thoughts wandered from the topic Takeshi began to console Cruxis, who appeared to be shaken by what had just happened. Although he was kindhearted as well, the three-eyed Uchiha learned a lesson or two on leniency while he trained under General Rai Oh. The general told Notwen a story about a former team mate of his. The shinobi in question refused to follow the orders of his squad captain and continued to do his own thing until eventually there came a time when they were surrounded in enemy territory. The squad captain had found a path that would have led them all out of the hostile area undetected had it not been for the rebellious ninja, who had decided to go off on his own. His actions had caused the enemy to become aware of the plan and the life of the squad leader, who gave his life to protect both Rai Oh and the rebellious shinobi. The latter was disgraced upon his return and committed suicide shortly thereafter. Notwen jumped slightly as Takeshi began talking to him about the injury he'd sustained from the bear. Upon seeing it the dark-skinned blonde grimaced. It wasn't bad, but if it didn't get checked on by an experienced medic sometime soon it was bound to get infected. " Well, to be honest, i still don't know much of medical jutsu myself. All i can tell you is to keep it from getting soiled as much as possible. My partner is good with healing techniques. When we get back to the village i'll ask him to take a look at it for you." Notwen looked over at the area past the bears. " Cruxis, for your own good i can't let you go out ahead of us. You are to stay in between me and Takeshi at all times from now until we are done with the mission. If you can't get past this obstacle in the next two times i'll have my summon escort you back to the village." With that said, he readied himself to transverse the gap. Before he had the chance to do anything else, Notwen caught movement in the trees around them. Three bears emerged from behind the trees. They were groggy, but otherwise sure on their paws. The three-eyed Uchiha cursed under his breath. The bears that were just recently sleeping were woken up by the earlier failed attempt. The one to their right began to charge, followed by the other two. Swiftly as he could Notwen weaved a set of seals. Quote: Roll for check: Fail[How did i know that would happen? Will edit later

" Griinza Redentoora!!" he bellowed. Instantly the trio was surrounded by a ring of emerald flames which solidified and expanded and solidified, sweeping away the charging bears and knocking down some of the surrounding trees. Without waiting for any more bears to get any wise ideas, the Chuunin rushed over to the two gennin and placed one hand on each of them. Yoga Teleport! he thought, and immediately they warped to the mountain pass they had come from. "Change of plans. The bears are too alert to try and sneak past them. For now we will return to the village and tend to Takeshi's wounds. Let's go." With that, Notwen began to walk back up the mountain pass toward the village. Quote: Moving to The Hidden Village

This would be the first time Saru in her life had exited the Hidden Village (That she could remember anyways) Most of the time she was locked away in her house, Either hidden away in shame or studying in order to help her be the best ninja she could be. She paused for a moment then, taking this opportunity just outside the hidden village gates to admire the landscape. Up high in the clouds a landscape of barren mountaintops greeted her eyes. With the exception of very few Trees dotted about the landscape, for the most part up this high was completely barren.
It was then she began her decent. She realized, of course, that it was probably foolish to travel alone, Especially to a place that was relatively far from her village. Every now and then she found herself sneaking a look back, wondering if this would be the smartest decision. But her mind was made, she was determined to push onward. Not only would she have to learn how to leave the comfort of home now that she was a ninja, but she would have to become accustomed to travel. She needed to learn her own independence, away from the closed doors of her home, and she needed to stop shying away from people who looked down at her because of her feet-hands.
By the time she had made a good amount of distance between her and the Village, the Sun was still just peaking through the jagged cliff faces. She had left the village relatively early in the morning, and she knew she still had quite a distance to cover before she would even reach her destination. Thankfully the Trees had started to thicken, and she was traveling a road that seemed to be placed in the middle of the forest. She realized, alone, she would most likely be a prime target for any sort of thugs or thieves along the road. Climbing up the trees with ease she realized the felt almost safest up in the comfort of the leaves.
Because of the vicinity of the forest itself, a strong breeze was commonplace. Saru found solace, in the comforting caress of the breeze. She took a moment, to just perch in the treetops, enjoying the cold touch of the wind on her skin. Pushing onwards Saru realized just how smart her taking the highroad had been. Other than the occasional wild animal, she was sure she had also passed around a group of thieves. They weren't the brightest bunch, keeping their eyes on the road, and so her passage had been relatively easy thus far.
As the sun moved across the sky so too did the landscape change. She took the time every now again to stop and behold the scenery, everything was so foreign to her, almost alien. She realized now just how much of a stranger in her own country she was. Once the Tree line thinned out again, Saru realized she was getting closer to her destination. The lack of forestry though allowed her to see anyone who might be hiding around her (Save for the rocks) and even then while traveling she was sure to keep a wary eye out for anything usual.
Although Saru had taken every precaution she could think of, she wasn't surprised when the sting of having a heavy rock hitting her head knocked her to the ground. As if on cue, three thuggish men stepped out of their hiding places, all of them however didn't look that they were really that strong, and most look like they hadn't even eaten anything decent in a while. Getting to a sitting position she rubbed her head as what she presumed to be the leader began to speak.
"Well Well Well, Lookit Dis. A Purrty youngin', cept for dem feets." The man then Spat off to the side before turning his attention back to, "Suppose if she don't have enough fer us on her... We can use her fo' otha things fo' sellin' her off..." She realized these men REALLY weren't all that smart, they had managed to get her to the ground, but none of them had made a move to restrain her, likely thinking she was just some girl traveler since her hitae-ate was not visible.
"I-I'll give you w-what you want, Just p-please don't hurt m-me." Saru said, feigning an act of innocence. The men licked their lips, mostly due to the fact that Saru was using her "Assets" to distract them. One of them made the mistake of learning forwards, a lecherous gleam in his eye. Saru knew that even though she was strong, she wouldn't be able to take all of them at once, her best option would be to try and find a way to escape. She was sure she would be able to outrun them in the shape they seemed to be in.
Once the Thief leaned in close enough, Saru slammed the flat of her palm on the bottom of his chin, slamming him back and causing him to fall. Springing upwards Saru began sprinting away. As she thought the men gave chase but she was faster. Holding up her Middle finger Saru laughed, the adrenaline rushing through her veins. Luckily she had observed that they didn't have any weapons that could be long range, and she knew once they fell back aways that they had given up.
She slowed, though continued to jog to try and put some more distance between them. She let out a breathless laugh again, speaking to herself more than to anyone else "What Buffoons." Shaking her head she couldn't believe her relative luck. She had avoided (For the most part) any sort of trouble. And what trouble she had run into was... Well... Stupid. Putting her arms behind her head she strolled along, her pace picking up once the sight of a town began to greet her vision.
The smells of the landscape changed too, as the scents of all sorts of delicious and exotic foods filled her nose Saru couldn't help but rub her belly. She didn't have much money of course, but she figured this was the closest city to the village that she would be able to broaden her horizons. The Scenery that welcomed her almost amazed her. Everything was so gorgeous, and the trees from the normal terrain was almost exotic. It was so relaxing and refreshing to just be at the entrance of the place. She realized then, that this place was like an oasis, one of the few paradises amongst the mountaintops.

Quote: Entering From Hidden Village Notwen again found himself outside of the village, the evening air cool against his skin. Now that the sun had set behind the mountains, the large formations took on a more menacing and jagged appearance. The dark-skinned blonde seldom left the village at night, due to there being poor lighting on the roads and the possibility of falling into a ravine or gully. In situations like these there was always one method of travel that Notwen used; his longtime companion, Kaala. Using the regular method to summon the sparrow, the dark-skinned blonde drew a rune on the ground and weaved the unique set of four seals necessary to activate it. A blue glow began to emanate from the rune on the ground, and after he placed his right hand on it a pillar of golden flames whirled up from the blue mark. Seconds later, Kaala appeared from appeared from the fire. The light glinted off of the bird's polished ebonite armor, creating an apparition of crimson-gold feathered majesty. "I have arrived. What's the matter, Notwen?" spoke the Sparrow through their mental bond, his thoughts warm, yet fierce. "I need to head towards Gryu'jiong to get some supplies for myself. I haven't been keeping my items up to date so i thought it would be a good idea to head over to the market." Kaala nodded. "It has been some time since i visited. Come, climb onto my ack so we van get going before it gets too late.

The first thing Musica noticed about Lightning Country: it was cold. Being a native in Water Country, he was far more used to the warmer weather. So when Musica stepped on to the deck of the Slive, the sudden drop in temperature hit him like a solid mass. Shivering, the shinobi wrapped his cloak around himself. “I-I knew it would be cold, but not like this.” Musica chattered to Kray, his teeth clicking. “You'll get used to it,” Kray shrugged before one of the cabin doors banged open. A violet blur flashed by Musica, followed by a sharp gust of wind. Musica lowered his face and closed his stinging eyes. He opened his eyes, tear forming around the bottom of them, to see Rodah jump high off of the Slive. Musica's brother let out an excited exclamation as he flew through the air. The moment he landed on the snowy ground he laid down on to his front, his arms spread wide, as if giving the ground a hug. Musica sighed and placed his palm on his forehead. “So much for our cover,” he muttered as a small gathering of people stood over Rodah. “You might want to get out of here before people ask questions.” He said, turning back to Kray. “Believe me, you don't need to tell me twice,” Kray responded. The captain of the Slive turned and started barking orders to his crew, who went about their work without complaint. Kray must have little patience with slackers, then. Musica turned and calmly walked down the gangplank and down the dock. His feet crunched in the thick snow as he stepped on to solid ground. “Oh precious land,” he could hear Rodah say lovingly. “How I missed you so.” Musica sighed and reached into the ground with his will, calling to Titan, then grabbed Rodah by the back of his collar, and hoisted him up to his feet. Unlike Rodah, who was strong enough on his own, Musica needed the assistance of Titan's power. Musica gave the small gathering a hard look, and suddenly they all had remembered they had somewhere to be. “What the hell were you thinking?” Musica growled into his brother's ear, giving his collar a rough shake. “Don't blow our cover.” Rodah broke out of Musica's grip easily and stepped away, brushing snow off of his body. 20 lines Rodah broke out of Musica's grip easily and stepped away, brushing snow off of his body. Musica's brother circled his fingers around, making a hole with his hand. “This is only ******** I give,” he said with a bored roll of his eyes. “And that's how many I give about you dying,” Musica shot back heatedly, a small amount of steam rising from his body as a faint orange glow radiated from under his cloak. Rodah turned his gaze up and to the side and started to clean his ear out. “What's the problem, nothing happened. We're still here. We have a job to do, don't we?” Musica gave Rodah an irritated glare and let out an angry huff. “Fine, fine. But if we die, I'm going to kill you.” Rodah gave out a mocking chuckle as Musica knelt down to the ground. The Mist ninja stuck his hand into the snow, placing his palm on the solid ground. He focused his chakra through it and, calling to Titan again, went to locate Sai's chakra. The moment he opened his mind to the earth, he was hit by the sheer amount of different chakras through the Cloud Village, ramming into his senses like a jolt of lightning. Musica gasped and instinctively pulled his hand from the ground. “Good job, smarty pants,” Rodah drawled as Musica'a breat came rapidly. “Of course there's too many people to try to sense Sai's chakra. That's why I didn't try.” Musica rolled his eyes and steeled himself, thrusting his hand back to the ground. The wave of auras hit him a second time, and he ground his teeth against it all. Most of the chakra was lightning element, according to Titan's senses. Musica steeled himself and made a second effort of will, pushing the lightning chakra's from his own senses. “Sai's a Mizu, I know that much,” Musica muttered harshly to Rodah. It was hard to speak through the concentration, so each word came out short and harsh and with a slight pause between each one. There was just so many people. 38 Lines Musica muttered under his breath as he mentally filtered out each different type of chakra, except for Water and Wind types. From there it was the easiest thing in the world to locate the one person in Cloud Village with both Water and Wind chakras. Musica opened his eyes and rose slowly, careful not to fall over into the snow. “That thing can be disorienting,” Musica muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, his head bowed slightly. “Did you find him, though?” Rodah whispered, stepping close to his brother to keep from being over heard. All around them people walked and talked, a familiar city buzz hovering over them. “Of course I did. What'd you expect?” Musica muttered back. The red out stretched his left arm in front of him and to the left, his index finger out. “About ten minutes north-northwest. You go top, I'll go low. And be careful, this isn't Mist.” Rodah winked and walked off into the crowd, disappearing into the sea of bodies. Musica sighed and quickly removed the Mist headband on his upper arm, placing it in a pocket of his bag. 48 Lines Musica closed his eyes and grabbed his hood. He pulled the dark green fabric over his head as he opened his eyes, his face covered in blackness aside from the white half of his Heikougan and a single white dot visible where his eyes were. Musica walked on the sides of the street, away from the crowds. He was aware that his made him a little bit more noticeable, but it was also less likely he would collide with a stranger and start a confrontation. And there was nothing more obvious than a fight in the village streets. The sides were also closer to the alley ways, their shadows always a comforting hiding spot with the lowest of the low, the ones who had fallen from the high point. Every now and then Musica would toss a Ryo or two (that he managed to sneak by Kray) into the begging hands of those withered shapes, hoping to buy some karma. Musica figured he'd never know when it would be himself down there, asking for scraps and spare change. The red head shivered, equal amounts of cold and depressing thoughts. Musica looked up towards the roof tops, catching sight of a black blue of motion jumping from one building to the next. It would wait at the next building until Musica had passed by it, and then it would go on to the next. Musica looked back down and concealed his chakra as much as he possibly could as he approached the point where he assumed Sai was at. Quote: 60/60 Lines Exiting to Gryu'Jiong

The trees were so dense this part of the way that if you didn’t know where you were going, it was easy to get lost. He thought about all kinds of things he would tell his grandmother about his travels and how he’d survived on his own, travelling as a bard while he was looking for someone to help him. He was actually quite proud of that and smiled at the treetops. “Well, seems I’ll be meeting family after all!” he exclaimed to the trees before looking straight ahead. He would be able to see the village soon and he wanted to see his grandmother’s home as he came up the hill. He was so excited, and could not help but wondering what his grandmother looked like, and if she would know him for who he was. Cruxis frowned at that thought, a single tear crept out of his eye and he quickly wiped it away. Despite the fact that he was following the main path, he began trekking up a densely forested hill. ‘Almost there…’ he thought as he pushed past the trees. Why did the road look like this anyway? Did no one come to cut the branches? He took out his tachi blade and started hacking away at a few limbs and vines in the way. He was sure he’d taken the right path. Did something happen to the village recently? That question lingered in his head. ‘If something happened to the village… Oh no! Grandmother…’ He thought as he hacked away, almost recklessly, at the branches and vines. If something had happened, that would explain why the path was like this, lost in vines and tree branches. An active village would never let the path look like this. His good mood that he’d maintained on the journey here was short lived, for when he got to the top and saw the village destroyed. “No…” Cruxis said as he stood at the top of the hill and saw the homes in ashes. He couldn’t move for the longest time. Although it was only a few seconds, it seemed like hours. What could have done this? Who would have shown an enemy to the village? What was their purpose of burning it to the ground? He didn’t the answers to these questions and he flew down to seek out survivors. He ran past the burnt down buildings and the bodies of slain men and women, knowing he could not help those beyond the grave. Was it his fault they were killed? He didn’t seem to make it to thehouse fast enough as he ran. Why did his grandmother have to live on the other side? He wasn’t paying attention to where he was stepping and heard a loud “oof” from under him. He quickly stopped and looked down to see a man that really didn’t like him, but he stopped to help him anyway. “… What happened… who did this?” Cruxis asked as he carefully helped the weakened man up to his feet. “Don’t touch me you insolent monster! Your kind are no better than the other ninja that was here! Leave the village to die in peace!” Cruxis was quite shocked that this man would say such a thing as he left spit in his face and said such a thing as a choice of last words before he slumped over and died. “Dear Lord…” He spoke the silent prayer, looking down at the now-corpse as he stood up. He didn’t know what to do now. He had come on the thought of he would be welcomed by a loving grandmother, fresh baked treats, things that were always in stories of grandmothers and family, but was he really? He shook his head and continues to look for his missing family; now focused solely on the goal. If there were survivors, he didn’t pay attention. He just wanted to find his grandmother. That’s what was important to him. If the other remaining people didn’t want him there, he would leave as soon as he rescued the one he was looking for. ‘Grandmother… where are you?’ he thought as he continued to scour the village for an sign of them. ‘If they’re not in the village… they might be at the shine!’ he though as he headed towards the shrine area, a safehouse of sorts for healing. He decided that if he ran along the remaining rooftops, he wouldn’t disturb the bodies on the ground. A flash of history as he glanced out over the waste, and for a brief moment the only thing he could see were the laughing, loving and caring faces of the people whom had lived within the village surrounding him, before the vision faded and he could see the once joyous faces now dead and lying in the road. “Hell, why did that have to happen now… of all the times for this sort of thing to happen?” he asked to himself as he made himself not look at the bodies so he could focus on his goal, but what if he was too late? What if she was dead? Could he have saved her had he been able to intervene on the attack? “Damn it..” he said. He didn’t want to think of all these things. He just wanted to find his grandmother, or a sign that she was alive and well and hiding out in the forest somewhere waiting for aid. He reluctantly activated his Ryuugan eye as the shrine came into view, not wanting to come across an ambush despite the risk of past visions entering his sight again. He couldn’t help but smile as he saw it still intact, untouched by the force that had destroyed the village down the hill below. He burst through the door, panting as he looked around. “Grandmother?! Yukiko?! Are you here? Grandmother? Yukiko!” He looked around the large room, but there were no signs of life in the room. He decided to look in the other room. He just had to find them. If not his grandmother, at least someone who could have survived. He smiled when he saw the door to the other room there, but horror filled him up when he saw the pool of blood seeping from under the door. “No…” was all he could say as he slowly made his way to the door. He reached to it, his hand shaking from fear that he was too late and his family was here. “ G-G-Grandmother?” he called out, but no answer. He finally just opened the door. “No… grandmother!” he cried as he ran to the other side of her and flipped her over. Tears rolled down his face as he turned her on her back. “Grandmother… why… why did this happen to you?!” He didn’t notice that he was kneeling in a pool of blood. As he sat there crying, he remembered the happiness he’d felt at seeing her photo and the chance to meet her. As he held her, the vision of the past launched into his memory through the active Ryuugan; “Excuse me… I’m looking for a Cruxis Ichtaca.” He heard. He looked up and saw through the sepia of the past an elderly woman with teal colored hair in a tight bun talking to a woman at the registry. The woman smiled at his grandmother and asked if she were a relative. “Yes. I’m Yukiko Kokoro, his grandmother on his mother’s side. I would like to see my grandson please.” The woman blinked and then smiled as she directed her to a list of archives, instructing her on getting in contact with the office in order to notify Cruxis. As Cruxis came back to reality, he was sobbing like a child. Knowing what could have been hurt, viewing the path empathically hurt worse, knowing what they were feeling; so much hope now trampled in blood. He thought he was past that point. During his training, his instructors had told him that it was pointless to be cry over the fallen. They were gone, you were still alive and that’s how it had always been. It was just so hard to say goodbye to someone you cared so much about. He could feel the heartbeat failing as the woman slowly opened her eyes recognizing the boy. “I’m happy… to have seen you… at least one time…” she said as she clung to his shirt. “Don’t say that!” Cruxis said as he held her close. “You’re going to be fine! I’ll take care of you! Your grandson will take care of you…” Cruxis looked down at the woman. Even though his eyes were full of tears, she just smiled before she started coughing. He had to get her out of that place. He didn’t want her to die in a pool of her own blood… But he knew there was nothing more he could do; with that last seizure of coughing, her heart at stopped completely. He had lost everyone now. He had no one to fall back on. He walked towards the lake and gave her body to it, allowing the current to take her away as the full moon rose into the sky. Cruxis turned away made three handseals before touching the ground, demanding the past to show him the murderer… But the past was silent, a shroud lay over it. “Difficult, isn’t it?” a voice spoke from behind him as a man rose from the ground, who Cruxis recognized as his worst pickpocketing mistake… Beilborg, the lord of fallen warriors; who utilized a powerful necromantic style of ninjutsu in order to attack his opponents; “Barbaric is what it is, leaving corpses strewn about, odds and ends everywhere… Truly a mess of things, and normally destroyed villages such as these are a necromancer’s playground.” “You… You’re not turning any of these into blight walkers, or corpse walls, or… zombies… or, or… Anything!” Cruxis’s eyes flared as he launched a warning shot towards the necromancer, a single kunai which the necromancer substituted out of using a corpse clone, before placing his arms in hands up position before he spoke again. “Now now relax boy. I’m not playing with blight anymore, it might empower the dead for a brief time but it really only makes things more complicated, for one the blight loves to eat dead flesh and I can’t restock my losses fast enough. Secondly, I nearly lost my arm to the blight, and if not for your friend’s white fire and a little necromantic knowledge, the plague would have spread throughout Hidden Cloud. I advise you thank me for that help and accept that I’ve been pardoned.” Beilborg was far too collected for Cruxis to lower his own guard, but the gennin calmed to a degree and at least put away his remaining kunai, and allowed the necromancer to continue. “That noted, you seem to be doing well. I’m interested to see just what you’ll become truly. Now then, whoever did this stole several scrolls full of valuable research I’d intended to study in this village. And by those puffy eyes, tear marks, and your red-as-rage face, I imagine someone who cared about was killed. I would like to propose a truce of sorts.”Cruxis eyed the Necromancer warily, before speaking, “What would you possibly gain from a truce?”“Because two are stronger than one, and that is precisely what I need. You see most of my power came from playing with blight, and as my blight was cured, I’ve lost a great deal of strength from the purification… I would almost hazard a guess that you’re an even match for me, if you would put aside that temper long enough to realize it. Secondly, I can manipulate the dead, so long as the corpse is intact and has not been tampered with by another necromancer. I can learn what whoever did this looked like, where he went upon the completion of his massacre, and I daresay my flying zombies will be most helpful at tracking him down.”, the corpse raven at his shoulder let out a soundless cry, as if to emphasize the point. Sure his power might have been reduced, but Cruxis had little leeway to give sighs of relief. Even reduced in power, he was still older, more skilled at tactics, and given Cruxis’s necrophobia and previous encounter with the man still lingering in the back of his mind, Cruxis had the feeling that despite his assertion that they were equals in power, Beilborg could easily win the battle with intimidation alone. “Alright… It’s agreed then. I don’t like the idea of working with you, but between your ability to gather information from the dead, and my ability to notice fine details, I think we can track down this murderer and bring him to justice…” Cruxis cautiously extended his hand out to Beilborg to seal the deal, the Necromancer only nodded briefly before leading the way back into the village, unsheathing a small ritual knife from the inside of his cloak and moving towards the nearest dead body, kneeling before it and taking the knife to his finger before slicing a slit in the man's temple, allowing a single drop of his own blood to fall onto the wound and striking a handseal to form a curse mark on the forehead, the man's eyes fluttering open before sinking beneath the ground Cruxis was left blinking, unsure of just how to react to the scene before him, but Beilborg noticed and did not even give Cruxis the chance to speak; stating in a very matter-of-fact tone; “Oh don't look so shocked boy. You knew very well that I manipulated the dead, what did you think the harvesting process looked like; hugging kittens?”, before repeating the process on another body, “My technique relies on corpses. Quite honestly my supply has been short lately, due to a combination of combat, the blight, and most of my supply being confiscated by your laws as price for my pardon. Unless I restock my supplies, I'm next to useless in combat. Whoever destroyed this village wanted the village scrolls; and obviously had the means to destroy it to get what he wanted. Judging by the damage, any attempt to face him, or her, at less than full strength would be foolish. If you truly want to help, go scout for a trail. This is going to take some time, go make yourself useful and try to learn something.”{ Mission Step 1 : 136 / 200 } Quote: Line Count: Before: 98 + This Post: 136 = New Count: 234

“Make myself useful!?” Cruxis flushed briefly before regaining control of himself, “Understood... I'll be back. While you're taking these corpses, at least question them to see if they know anything.”Beilborg just glanced up to Cruxis as he twirled his bloody ritual knife between his fingers; “In the time it took you to question me, I have acquired two more corpses, and by a brief scan of their last few hours memories, I have a decent image of what this man looked like. I advise you make more efficient use of your time, boy.”The gennin stormed off, he did not want to deal with Beilborg's cold tone; in fact the Necromancer was almost worse off as an ally as opposed to a mysterious walking corpse cart who played with unnatural blights and turned the living into corpses for mere fun. He was older, had many more years of study under his belt, and was very honestly Cruxis's superior mentally; even with diminished power, Cruxis was aware of the strategy and calculations that had to go into his jutsus; recalling the wall of corpses and his strategic launches of pieces of his defense in order to onslaught an opponent. Cruxis held his resolve against the man's art, but could not deny that his knowledge and skill were valuable; and perhaps the two were not too different in base ideals after all? Both sought knowledge of the world, and perhaps that was all that was needed to forge an alliance, albeit a shaky one. Making his way back to the man who had died, Cruxis decided to make one more attempted with his Ryuugan; getting an idea of viewing the last few hours of a man's life from Beilborg. The signs, and overgrowth, seemed to place this raider at a few days head start; and likely those who had lived this long had been unable to move, and had simply hoped for a healer, but too late. Putting the morbid thought of lying in ones own blood for several days aside, Cruxis allowed his eyes to activate again as he placed his hand upon the dead man, his eyes glossing over with white as the vision came to him. piles of coins, a contract in blood, a hanged man, a dagger to the back and a swinging scratch in retaliation... were the only images that came to him; and the answer was all to obvious. The corpse was resistant to questioning to the end, and all Cruxis could glean was what the cause of this attack was... The man had obviously made some deal with this raider for money, and was betrayed. But Cruxis had at least learned one thing from it, the man had at least tried to fight back; and had done one important thing for Cruxis, gotten some of the man's skin under his nails. It wasn't as effective as blood, or a direct link to chakra; but it might still be enough for one of his tracking tags to work! Carefully taking out his mackknife, Cruxis dug under the man's nails and managed to get red-toned material; possibly the raider's blood! Placing the sample in the tag, it glowed briefly and projected a faint image of a mountainside cave. Summoning his magic map genjutsu, Cruxis compared landmarks and picked out three locations that the enemy might have gone to based on what he could compare to on his map. "Seems you've found something there. I knew you'd turn up something useful if I left you to your own devices.", Beilborg appeared behind him, followed by a line of corpses sinking into the ground. How fast could Beilborg restock his supplies? And how much blood had he lost doing this? Cruxis decided that both of the questions would only help to irritate the necromancer, and instead noted; "This man managed to draw some blood from the raider. I put it in a tracking tag and it shows he's hiding out in a mountainside cave. Comparing the details of the cave to the landmarks on my map, I've narrowed it down to three locations he could be at.""That's still two too many. If we pick the wrong one, we lose him; no question about it. He already has a four day lead on us, and is likely only waiting out for some black market to collect from him. Those scrolls might already be gone, I estimate a ten percent chance that he still has them; and that chance is reduced to one in a million if we choose the wrong location." "We could split up. There's a two in three chance we pick the right location then. Things have managed to overgrow, and I'm willing to bet he caused the overgrowth himself; covering his trail for any pursuit.""We've seen what he did to this village. Even with my restocks, I am well below full strength; and you're a kid. Alone, either of us would be in trouble. No, what we need to do is make our best guess based on what we've learned." He immediately crossed out two locations on Cruxis's magic map, before moving his foot forward, stamping out Cruxis's tracking tag and digging it into the ground with the toe of his boot. "Care to enlighten me why you did that? And what your thinking is?" Cruxis glared at the man in an irritated voice. { Mission Step 1 : 187 / 200 } Quote: Line Count: Before: 234 + This Post: 51 = New Count: 285

“It's simple really. I know three things that you did not when you picked out your locations. Firstly, the southeast cave is where I took up residence before coming to this village. It took me three hours to travel from there to this village. Anyone attempting to hide out would have had to be hidden right under my nose in order to have done so. And I'm not that diminished that I wouldn't notice someone hiding right under my nose.”“And the second location?.” Cruxis noted, agreeing that the first point made sense. “The rogue was seen heading south. Therefore, the only option is the southeast cave you located. I highly doubt that he would head south, then loop around for an addition fifteen miles in order to swing Northwest. He seems like the type to go in, butcher everyone, and get out; not the type to strategize escape plans.”“At the very least we've narrowed down his location. If we move out fast enough, we can still catch him before sunset!” Cruxis picked up his gear, and led the way, using his magic map technique in order to track their movements. If they kept a good pace and arrived before sundown, they might be able to use the twilight to their advantage, as Cruxis at least could see well enough during the waning light with his Ryuugan; perhaps enough of a benefit to take the raider by surprise! { Mission Step 1 : 200 / 200 } { Mission Step 2 : 2 / 75 } Quote: Tracking Check: Int 165 * 2 [330] + Int Stat Buff *2 [0] + Awareness Buffs [50 (Finely Honed Senses), 50 (Clan Ability) ] + Item Awareness Buffs [29 (Tracking Tag)] Total 459 vs 350 10 Degrees of success 60% chance to succeed Quote: Line Count: Before: 285 + This Post: 15 = New Count: 300

The journey was unusually quiet for Cruxis, both because he had nothing to say, and in fact nothing to think or torment his head. He was intently focused on the road ahead and on his map, keeping carefully tallies on their progress so as not to get lost. But on the other hand, Beilborg was nearly lost in thought; the fact that a kid who had once tried looting a scroll from him; and nearly would have succeeded had Beilborg not had a small army of corpses wandering under him at the time alerting that someone was walking dangerously close behind him; and so had caused him to turn around at right the right moment. The kid had nearly been turned into a living corpse via the Corpus blight, a fast-acting flesh decayant that gave flesh the consistency (and smell) of dead flesh; its final stages rotting out the brain and embalming the blood in a very painful death; though not as dangerous as the blight of the undead; which not only crept up the body with spidery black rot, but also was contagious with any amount of contact; though its benefits were enhanced strength once it progressed far enough, a limb fully rotted by it would simply fall away to ash; something he had become aware of only thanks to the dead being far less resilient than himself; and so the rot progressed much more rapidly on them. The blight would have spread through Hidden Cloud, and despite his missing-nin status and kill-on-sight orders; he had come to the village to alert them of his experiments gone wrong in an attempt to warn them of the blight of the undead that was now spreading and would soon impact Hidden Cloud. Of course then his research scrolls had nearly been pickpocketed and he forgot all about the foolish idea of helping in order to turn a ten-year-old boy into a living corpse...In the end he had been stopped by a chance encounter with a jounin whose jutsu of white fire proved the ultimate technique to battle his corpse style, a fight with an equal he'd not had in years. His technique of white fire also proved able to halt the progress of the blight of the undead; and so he had made a deal with the jounin. Combining his jutsu technique with Beilborg's own knowledge of the blight; due to his studies of it, he had become knowledgeable as to its effects, its spreading, and how to note the progress of the disease; and in exchange he would be given amnesty for his past actions; though the latter end of the deal also required him to return any ill-gotten corpses for proper burial; and considering most had been villagers who wandered off, his supplies had vanished. Finding an already destroyed village had been a treasure trove, and while he knew he lacked the amount of corpses needed to fully fight at potential, he would not be useless in a fight at least. This village however had housed the last of his forbidden scroll that he intended to destroy; knowledge of the Corpus disease; which had been left in the care of the mayor for a decent amount of gold. He'd labeled it as research to Cruxis, but in truth he had full intention of erasing this piece of research from the world. Playing with diseases had nearly lost him an arm; and the scars of the blight of the undead would remain on it; though no longer a putrid black but a shade of pale grey. He'd learned through curing that there was more to his talents than raising zombies or playing with blights; he was nowhere near a master of death; and quite honestly had only been hoping to become a living corpse in order to overcome death; but "enlightenment" in undeath seemed a foolish idea. Yet he did not want to be a servant to death as the fools at the monastery seemed to believe; using their time consulting necrophobes, preparing bodies for final rites, and digging graves. It had been Beilborg who saw the potential for corpses beyond the grave, and chose to manipulate the dead instead of simply bury them. 'Perhaps if not a servant of a master... a steward would suffice.' he toyed with the word steward; a protector while the master was away; 'There is some knowledge that should well be forgotten. I've committed the Corpus to memory should it ever truly be needed... Recovering that scroll to return to the Kage for its destruction is the most important thing to do now.'"Hey, we're here..." Cruxis looked up the mountainside path that lay ahead of them, glancing particularly at the smoke coming from the top. A campfire!!! He was still there! "You see it too?'" Beilborg had noticed the smoke as well, and prepared himself for the gennin to dash madly up the cliff, almost surprised that he didn't. "Think there are traps?" Cruxis muttered as he activated his Ryuugan, keeping a sharp eye out for falling boulders or anything of the like. "This rogue has not proven particularly competent thusfar; I doubt he's had the foresight to prepare for intruders, likely he's going to rely on that zanbato he's lugging around; and we're both clever enough not to get near it... At least not personally; if you count a corpse as an extension of myself then I suppose I'll be hopping right into the chopping block.""I guess we'll keep an eye out anyway. Just because he's not proven himself at hiding his tracks doesn't mean he's not hiding any tricks up his sleeve..." Cruxis noted, leading the way cautiously up the mountainside. As they progressed, Cruxis managed to locate and disable three bear traps, cut loose a trip wire, and note a series of boulders that if they made any noise near were likely to fall. However, he missed a pressure plate however, treading carefully on the ground he felt his foot sink under him, at which point a series of holes opened in the side of the mountain and fired off a series of spines out towards them. Beilborg was both behind the main trap and able to dodge in time; but Cruxis's surprise at the sinking pressure plate caught him completely off-guard, the spines driving into his side. Beilborg said nothing and quickly took out a small hooked tool, used for embalming and dug it into the wound in order to pull the spines out. "If you have anything to heal that injury; do so. We don't have time to set off any more traps."Cruxis let off a small burst of white fire through himself, nowhere close to the strength of the jounin, who could generate and throw it at will; while Cruxis could only create a small burst within his own body; but it was enough to close the wounds at least. Thankfully they had not been poisoned; or Cruxis would have had a whole new level of trouble to deal with. Standing himself up, he did so shakily, the shock of being impaled with steel spines tended to do that, before carefully continuing, determined to avoid any further traps that might be in store for them. 'The real concern is will he have gotten away by now? If those traps alerted him; we might not catch up at all...' Cruxis grimaced at the thought. They had to move faster and catch this man and bring him to justice... { Mission Step 1 : 200 / 200 } { Mission Step 2 : 75 / 75 } Quote: Dodge Check : Beilborg ~ Agility 55 * 2 = 110 no buffs] 200 - 110 = 90, 9 degrees of failure. 41% chance of success. Cruxis was mostly recovered thanks to his white fire, and so he began to lead the way up the mountain path. The ground began to become more of a rocky surface as he began to elevate his climbing. Rocks began to take on the normal form of an almost volcanic material, and some were quite hot still. Muttering a curse, he brushed it off, making the way up the last hundred yards to the top; nearly slipping before Beilborg used a technique to draw them both into the side of the cliff and up the other side. The last fifty yards up the mountain path weren't too strenuous upon his body, though the heat was increasing as he made his way to the top. Steam vents blocked his way in several directions he attempted, though eventually he found a empty area safe enough to pass through. Grunting, his hand clasped the outer rim of what would be the top of the mountain, pulling himself the last foot, raising his head to see what lay beyond. As he raised his head, a massive swinging bar trap slung towards him and cracked him across the head; knocking him down the mountain, slipping unconscious. **** DREAM SEQUENCE **** 'Ahoy!!! Wake up Spartan!!!' the gruff voice called to him, reminding him of three weeks at sea; braving several northern storms and a powerful series of rip tides, the ship had finally gotten out of the waters of Hidden Snow; As The Spartan arrived at the docks, he quickly made his way towards the harbor's smith; checking to see if his Spartan Armor was fully repaired; most of it having been severely damaged in a prior battle with a member of the Kaguya Clan, whom had impaled it, and his stomach, with a bone... Prior to its repair; a massive hole with scorched edges lined where his stomach was; a very unsettling thought for The Spartan, since it practically gave his opponent a bulls eye mark. However, the armor had been repaired beautifully, and The Spartan swapped out his silver armor styled with marks of the lotus flower to again don his spartan armor only for a moment, before returning it along with his lotus armor in order to have the two forged together to make the Infinity Armor... Waiting three days on the outskirts of the village, The Spartan paced and paced, his lotus armor slowly being fused into the spartan armor to strengthen the metal tenfold; and to offer a powerful defense for him in battle. Finally, on the dawn of the third day, The Spartan walked into the shop to see the armor completed, gold trim and demonic symbols shining on it... Oftentimes, the Spartans were known as Demons in battle, and thus The Spartan had requested an armor that would represent that myth as he rode into battle... The result was beautiful, and having only costed him the remaining metal that was left over from the old armors. Donning his new armor and replacing his headband from the symbol of Hidden Cloud to that of a Spartan Warrior; The Spartan was not fully ready to mark himself as a member of the clan, and as far as he knew, the last Spartan still alive... He intended to make sure his people were not forgotten in the depths of the past... He would make a name for his clan, and for his village... This armor, known as Infinite Armor, was a special craft which could absorb Chakra, pooling it from anything that acted as a store for Chakra particles and absorbing them into the user's body. Also known for being nearly invincible, the armor was a valuable piece for any shinobi to have; and as the last of his Clan, and only survivor of the village; it placed The Spartan in the position, though not on paper, of strongest in his village, technically a kage in its own form. Though the village was near forgotten, claiming himself as the strongest in his village was still the truth, though in a twist of irony this could also be reversed by a clever man to call him the weakest in his village as well. Still, when the circumstances arose, he was not afraid to refer to himself as such, and used the title in this circumstance, the forger was more than happy to give The Spartan priority; also having seen the extent of damage to his original armor; the chest plate having had a massive scorch hole by where his stomach would be... It was easily seen that The Spartan needed better armor, and it put a high prestige on accepting the job; though The Spartan himself knew there was little he could offer to the man anyway; he did make a promise to assist in removing bandits from the outskirts of town in return for recieving the armor when complete; needing only to pay the blacksmith with the metal that remained from reforging his armor. Now that his armor had been received, fitted, and his satisfaction given; Mugen Kougai allowed the spartan warrior to be on his way; a slight annoyance at having required approval... but still; it was understood, as the people of Hidden Craftsman Village were very prideful in their work. Recalling that, it was also understood in that his armor had taken three days to complete; as the a armor was truly forged to perfection; lighter than his original, yet after several tests it was easily proved to be stronger. 'This armor will work well for me... I can already feel the difference between this and my old one; and the additional jointings won't limit my movements as much, meaning I'll probably be able to swap between a spear and swords if I want to without having to remove armor segments... That will be valuable since I wont have to sacrifice defense in order to use different weapons... Mugen Kougai, you did well, very well... I'm more pleased with this armor than I can express in words... so let me repay my thanks by handling your bandit problem...' The Spartan held his spear at his side; holding it about halfway down the shaft as he approached the cave where the bandits had made their base... Keeping a firm grip on his spear; The Spartan made took a look around the surrounding area, determining no back entranceways that he could see, meaning there was only one entrance, or exit... It meant they could focus their power on one place to defend; but also meant should that defense fall they would have no escape... 'They must be pretty confident in their abilities if they're pulling this gambit... best not to underestimate them...' the Spartan thought to himself as he crouched down behind a rocky outcropping, determining a plan of action...
The Spartan's calculations were quick and unhesitating; he was patient enough to wait it out, not wanting to make a move too soon else he could spring a trap; the most obvious question being that of why there was only one entrance to the cavern... 'Odds are these are just ordinary rabble, based on their appearance and numbers, so I've no clue why they would hole themselves like this; but I'm pretty sure that it's not just for show... This cave was probably here long before they were; so it's probably safe to say that there's more to this group than meets the eye... It's not that they're hoarding something in there; they're searching for something that already exists...' the Spartan thought to himself slowly pooling in chakra particles from the air around himself and using the pattern in which they arrived to him to use sort of a reverse sonar wave system; taking in details of the surrounding area... Unfortunately the mountain itself was a massive maze of tunnels, their intricacy was far too much for the armor's limited chakra drain abilities to successfully operate at a functional level for such an intricate detail as to the tunnels... 'Since this armor can pool chakra in my surroundings, I should probably use it to pull a string of chakra, almost like a rope, behind me... It will prevent me from getting lost inside that series of tunnels, and lead me quickly to a way out should the need arise, although I hope it won't...' Quickly using his Henge no Jutsu, a technique which allows its user to transform themselves into any person or object, The Spartan transformed himself into a Bat, taking wing to fly into the Cavern. It would be easier to avoid confrontation as much as possible until he'd discovered what these bandits had planned. Another value to this form was that it relied on the abilities of Sonar to see; and thus any potential sight based genjutsu hidden in the cave, which would require his eyesight in order to work properly, could be avoided. By not seeing a Genjutsu; he could not fear what did not exist; and would be able to see any walls hidden by illusion. Thus, he left the trail of chakra in a thin string formation behind him; creating a guideline to get back outside when need be... { Mission Step 1 : 200 / 200 } { Mission Step 2 : 75 / 75 } { Mission Step 2, try 2 for Cruxis : 75 / 75 } { Mission Step 2, try 3 for Cruxis : 7 / 75 } Quote: Dodge Check : Cruxis ~ Agility 110 * 2 ] = 220 no buffs] 220 - 200 = 20, 2 degrees of failure. 52% chance of success. He finally picked up a meeting of some sort; scouting three figures ahead with his sonar; moving deeper into the tunnel... Tying off his chakra string by attaching it to a nearby wall; The Spartan quickly checked to make sure no one else was coming before shifting back into his human form, shaking off the feeling of being a bat for a brief moment before starting a new string of chakra energy to trail behind him as he followed closely behind the three bandits; cloaking himself in shadow so that they could not see him; making him one with the darkness around him, a problem would occur only if there was a light shone in his direction; as one would be looking in his direction expecting to see something, but instead see nothing even when lights were shone upon it; which obviously would be a bit suspicious. Getting close enough to hear the conversation; he could hear the men conversing amongst one another... "And that is our plan, in three moons' time, the scroll will be active." the first spoke the end of a sentence, Eluamous wondering what they could be conversing about. "That is all well and good, but didn't you say there was a requirement?" the second spoke, the first quickly replying to him, "Yes, one hundred humans sacrificed to bring its full might to bear." "Or one may channel their own chakra into the beast to bring it forth; though obviously this will drain the summoner..." A third spoke up interjecting in between the two; "Bah, and then it leaves the summoner open to enemies if he is weakened. Which is why we picked this hick town as our base... It'll kill them all in one blast and be done with it. Then we chain the baby up and use it as our trump card..." the second replied, the sound of hands brushing together in anticipation could be heard as he spoke, "Good, good.. We're close to the chest now. Come, let us unseal it and prepare the scroll..." the first spoke again, the toen of voice hinting that all three were required to unlock the chest they had placed it in... < 'I can't let them summon whatever it is they plan to summon... and I'll bet the only way to stop them is by stealing that scroll... Damn, I was hoping to avoid anything too heavy combat; but it looks like I have no choice. The only way to get that scroll is when they have it out; and this could be my only chance to steal it from them... I really hate to do this, but there's no choice in the matter.' > the Spartan thought, watching the man prepare the ritual "Alright, now let us review what needs to be done, as described in the tome..." the third voice spoke again; it was close... The Spartan kept his back to the rock as he crept up towards the three; keeping himself shrouded in darkness as best as he could... "Yes... hmm... very well... We will have to keep this close to us at all times until the beast is ready to awaken... Those who keep its tome closest to them during the prelude to its summoning have the greatest control of it.... To our quarters then, we must rest to prepare for tomorrow..." Sighting the company now, the Spartan noted two missing-nin, and the large bandit he'd first noticed entering. Likely the brute was to be the summoner, his large body housing a great store of stamina to endure the summoning... It had also been him who'd likely done most of the raiding, making them seem like ordinary brigands... Clever, quite clever... A candle flickered out inside their quarters; the missing-nins had turned in for the night. He waited for an hour in the still darkness outside the chamber until he was certain they would no longer be awake. Slipping himself carefully into the door, opening and shutting the door soundlessly, The Spartan walked soundlessly on his toes and balanced himself first before lowering the rest of his foot to the ground with each step he took. The Spartan warrior unfastened the safety buckles keeping his kunai sheathed and crept towards the bedside of the first mage smiling slyly as his hand wrapped around the bed post. He placed his other hand on the a candle, lighting the match dimly by channeling chakra to form a small spark between his fingers to give the room a dim glow so he could see easier... The quarters were not heavily decorated; only three large beds, a desk covered in maps, an oaken wardrobe containing clothes, a small wine chest, and several chairs for guests lay about the room. With his trained vision which allowed him to see easily in dim lighting, he saw the first missing-nin sleeping on the bed where he was stationed over; he saw the other asleep on the far end bed, and the large brigand asleep on a chair; perhaps unable to sleep as easily as the others... He had been prepared to face some sort of problem, and most likely at one of the slayings, the brute would be the first to awaken. The Spartan had come prepared for this encounter, and carefully positioned himself so that he would be behind the brute when the each wizard's assassination was done. Brandishing one of his kunai, he thrust the blade within the sleeping nin’s heart. A whisper of shock swept through the disheveled man’s face, a mere whisper, only enough to rouse the sleeping brute. With unexpected speed, the brutish enemy threw one of his axes towards the Spartan, but he ducked below it and the axe stuck into the wall. The massive brigand drew his second axe and charged forward at the Spartan, who rolled to the side and behind him. Whipping out another kunai, he thrust the small blade into the Brute’s back. But he had obviously had become accustomed to pain at his experience of raiding. With a free hand, he pried the kunai loose and tossed it to the ground before launching another attack. Unfastening the lock on his katana's sheath, the Spartan again rolled around the brigand again, leapt onto his back, and stabbed the Katana's blade through the Brute's skull. Searing pain shot throughout the brigand’s entire body as he fell to the ground on his knees, the life bleeding from his eyes as the remainder of hid body went limp, and he died... Glaring towards his final opponent, the Spartan kept his Katana in hand, keeping his other hand free as opposed to dual wielding his katanas. Whipping out a garnet gem, the missing-nin channeled his chakra through it; swirling it within the gem before a surge of energy coursed through the core; and from the depths of the gem rushed forth a great spew of flames towards him; who quickly countered by swinging a spartan shield in front of him to protect himself from the searing flames. Striking another series of seals, he gripped the Spartan by the tip of his ankle by using a kinesis ability and threw him across the room, colliding into the wall and causing his katana to fly across the room from the recoil impact.Snapping back to reality, Cruxis shook his head and looked below him, a massive series of bear traps lay on the ground below him as he was falling towards them; but managed to activate his Bukujutsu in time to hover over them, saving himself from the bear-trap induced death. { Mission Step 1 : 200 / 200 } { Mission Step 2 : 75 / 75 } { Mission Step 2, try 2 for Cruxis : 75 / 75 } { Mission Step 2, try 3 for Cruxis : 76 / 75 } Quote: Dodge Check - Trial 3 : Cruxis ~ Agility 110 * 2 ] = 220 no buffs] 220 - 200 = 20, 2 degrees of failure. 52% chance of success.
