The Concept
...left and instantly she started to regret her choice. The path grew smaller, the walls and ceiling shrinking upon her and soon she was forced to crawl upon her stomach as she attempted to get through the impossible tunnel. The Carousel would wrinkle her nose as cobwebs clung to her face and mane, unknown substance being smeared across her paws and fur...and no sign to an end in sight. Minutes turned to hours...and the tunnel never showed her mercy as it became tighter and tighter, her lithe form making a snug fit and slowly she continued to push on. It was worth it...she had to get to that hidden nitch!
Long ago had her eyes adjusted to the darkness, allowing her to see in a variety of shades of greys and blacks and when she turned around the next corner of her path..blindness! The light was to bright! It ate the shadows upon her path, chasing them away in it's wake and causing the poor female to wince ever so softly as she blinked her eyes several minutes to force them to adjust. She didn't know what laid ahead of her...but she knew one thing, she'd rather move forward then retrace her steps. Retracing her steps housed a series of meanings, yet the most important one was she would be admitting failure. She swore she would never fail again; not after what happened last time!

With a loud crackle the seemingly ancient ruin-like cave walls burst dropping the Carou to her face. She got up right afterward and rubbed her stubbed nose and cursed under her breath at her stupidity for not being more graceful...graceful and secretly very powerful she was indeed...but hardly dared show it to ungrateful eyes..
Ahead of her in the blinding light were figures in heavy cloaks that were adorned with monsters and demons. There had to be at least five figures...she had guessed trying to squint into the light.
The light source had be that of an orb...not JUST an orb but a floating one that had to be at least 2 feet wide. It was like meeting Limbo itself when she gazed into the orb. But she pulled back remembering he stupid mistake from last time...one she would never openly admit...as her mind strayed one of the figures' hidden faces focused on her and start to speak with an eerie echoy voice...it Said...

an ancient riddle from times long ago.
"She who has come so far, riddle us this.
Correctly answer to step forward.
Answer wrong and enter the abyss."
The one who spoke clears its throat, impossible to decipher if its male or female by the gravely tone.
"A man eats dinner, goes up to his bedroom, turns off the lights, and goes to sleep. In the morning, he wakes up and looks outside. Horrified at what he sees, he hurls himself out his window to his death.
Why does he do this?"
It chortled with laughter. No-one had ever got this riddle correct because they never used the same mystery twice.
