Bahati wasn't an individual who excelled at pity, while she was sympathetic in the sense that life was probably somewhat awkward for the male, that didn't necessarily mean that it was impossible. In a manner of speaking, her own life was awkward, but it wasn't impossible either. She didn't expect pity and she certainly didn't want it (as strange as that might sound) and as such, she often didn't provide such things to others - suffice to say that the only time she demonstrated anything remotely similar was when she witnessed genuine difficulty.
...The only example of that she could think of in recent memory, was assisting a lost and very hungry cub.
"Well, I guess that might make things awkward," she murmured softly and shook her head, taking his condition into consideration. Truth be told, his disability combined with her own failure to hunt something so slow made her feel a touch sheepish. He could look so strong and healthy while impaired and she could barely catch a rat! It was almost shameful. "It would be a strange thing though...to have to rely on nothing except your paws and nose," she added and shook her head.
"What do you do if they go down holes? Can you find them even then?"

Mzimu let out a small chuckle. "Awkward is one word for it, yes." Bahati came across as very straight-talking, which he didn't mind at all. If anything, it was somewhat refreshing, to have someone that just comes out with what they are thinking rather than holding their tongue. He wondered if that quality had got her into trouble at any point in her life, but he thought it best not to pry.
"I wouldn't call it strange, as like I said, I was born that way. You can't miss what you never had." When she asked about what would happen if his prey went down a hole, he let out another laugh, although this one was a bit more hardy. "I don't really hunt prey that is small enough to jump down a hole."
It occured to him that they had been chatting for some time now, and he did wonder what Bahati would do with herself if he just left her here, which obviously was not an option. "Bahati, I'm sure if I have a word with my Clan leader that you'll be able to share in our most recent kill, before passing through our lands." He paused, before going on. "If that's what you want?"(( We can finish this off in the next post or two! ))

She didn't want to impose. If there was one thing she hated it was that very thing. Imposing meant that she would get in the way, and she would be taking some of their valuable and well earned supplies. She hadn't done anything to earn it so in theory it wasn't right for her to accept...however she was hungry and she had lost her rat.
Consequently she had the choice between going hungry for who knows how long or she could accept some charity. If she did accept it she'd make sure to only eat the smallest amount, just enough to get by... But if she chose to refuse, then who knew when she would next eat? More importantly, she may not have the energy to even hunt when the next opportunity came up. It was an awkward state of affairs to be in and she shifted uncomfortably as she regarded the male.
...He'd been nothing but pleasant to her.
"I really wouldn't want to impose," she said at last and cleared her throat, her lips pursing as she considered what he had to say. For all she knew, his clan leader could react with hostility, she'd seen a few of those in her time! "I wouldn't want to steal anything that was so well-earned and hard fought for, that would be rude..."

Although it was sweet of her not to want to impose, Mzimu wouldn't take no for an answer. He was certain that the food and rest would benefit her, and so it would be impossible for him to just leave her here. "Nonsense!" He said with a smile. "The Wolf Clan is well known for its hunting abilities. We always catch more than we need." He felt as though she may be the type who needed to be told what was best for her. "Bahati, I insist that you come and share in our meal and rest your paws, before continuing your journey."
With that, the old black lion got to his paws. He stretched out his legs, as if he was a little bit stiff, before he started walking in the direction of his Clan's area. It was uncanny how he knew where he was going, but he had never truely forgotten it from when he was a cub, so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for him. He paused a moment, to check the Bahati was coming. Then they would be on their way.(( Finished! ))
