He paused, at that, chicken nugget halfway to his mouth and eyebrows knitted together. Civilians in space? Hadn't recon showed that they were all senshi mounting an attack? He'd heard something through the grapevine, but it had been very through the grapevine -- a game of telephone that warped the message from the truth to something nonsensical.
"...um." Ever bit down, giving him some time to think about that, and tucked it into one corner of his mouth so he could ask, "Is someone else sending up there for more recon?"

"Hm..." Ashley was stirring her ice cream idly - tiny little multicolored pieces of smarties floating through the white of the vanilla.
She should have asked for an extra. Damn.
"There probably will be more, yeah. Maybe not me, because im not sure if I can put up with another round of getting the s**t beaten out of me remotely by ten senshi, but... Im figuring that since my attempt was successful, they'll ask others to try at it. With less noticeable youma, maybe..."
Hn. Come to think of it... "You have a youma, right ? Smoke..."
Fluorite, well... had no youma. It was a little laughable, really, a general without a youma, but it had never clicked with any of them.

"That's what I was thinking. I have a lot of energy, and could get more fast..." He shrugged a little, polishing off the chicken and reaching for a napkin to bat at his mouth and also to clean off the mess of his fingers. That was the end of his food, already, and he was mourning it a bit. If he had another dollar, he'd have gotten more. But he didn't.
Oh well.
He shrugged, crumpling up all his wrappers into a big pile and smoothly easing up to stand. The bar he wanted in at was cheap, a bit dirty, and not as attentive as it should be. Maybe he could grab some cash out of the tip jar while no one was looking, to cover drinks. "He's pretty quick, anyway. Could look around, maybe, I don't know, get the lay of the land at least."

Too bad Ever hadn't voiced that out loud, because money certainly wasn't a problem for her right now, with a part-time job, no rent to pay, and well...
Well, if someone was stupid enough to head off in a remote area alone and drunk, they deserved to wake up with a missing wallet. Just saying.
Really, drinks weren't a problem. Ashley might have been boring, but she had the moolah.
"That's not a bad idea..." She mused, moving to stand as he did, through she was slower at it - her movements not as fluid as they should have been thanks to her body pretty much being a living ball of sore. "You'll probably do much better than I did. I only got to see like.. one room. Im sure there's a lot more to figure out..."
And she wasn't sure if she would be sent up again. She had her next assignments and so far nothing hinted at it.

"So consider it a done deal." He shrugged, crookedly, waving off the rest of the details because as far as he was concerned, they were easy.
Except. Wait. Maybe not quite so easy as he thought. He hesitated just outside the door, blinking and considering that, his head tipped to one side. "...uh. Actually, can you explain to me how you did it? I have to talk to someone or something and get a load of energy..."
A twitch of a smile, his hands shoved into his pockets. "I may not have been paying attention."

"I might not be surprised in the least." She tsked a bit, playfully chiding him - but otherwise didn't seem to care or mind much, letting him lead the way toward the bar, working on finishing her ice cream in transit.
"You get a dark mirror to take you to Alkaid, yeah. And you should probably inform a superior that you're going." She hadn't had to do that, really.
"You kept attention, this time ?" She teased.

"Uh huh, I should be able to pull that off." He shrugged, waving it off, flashing the bouncer a very brief smile before slipping inside. Full of college students, definitely, judging from the forced ennuie on many expressions, the thrift-store chique, the extremely cheap bear that many of them were drinking. It made Ever smile a little; he hadn't been around here in a very long time, now that he thought about it.
He wove his way toward the bar, flicking a look to make sure she was following. "I'll mention it to Zac, too, mostly because I think I'd be in the doghouse if I didn't."

The bouncer did seem to give Ashley a second glance, but they still slipped in rather easily - more easily than she would have anywhere else, probably.
The doghouse comment earned Ever a puzzled glance and a raised eyebrow. Yeah, she was actually completely clueless about how deeply him and Zac were actually involved - and really, it was none of her damn business.
She'd never been much of a gossip girl. It was kind of interesting to listen to when nothing else was going on, really, but otherwise... Yeah.
Ultimately none of her buisness. "First round's on me." She was also feeling generous, apparently.
