I called out of my work-study job today, because I was having an off day. But I work as a sort of fund raiser for the Annual Fund at my school and even though I got my first pledge of $100 yesterday (go me!), I just wasn't in the mood to sit there listening to people's answering machines for 3 hours...

I had to do that sort of thing once when I was in college. Near about drove me bonkers! You do it every day? Or just right now?

I did a very short telemarketing gig as a summer job while I was in college, too. I lasted about half a day. I got some perv the phone who wanted to talk dirty while I was trying to sell him accounting services, and that about did it for me.

I'm supposed to work 3 nights a week, for 3 hours at a time. So far it's just been a lot of answering machines for me. I wouldn't say it's my favorite job ever, but my boss is really nice and we get free drinks and candy, so that's a plus. I don't have to go back until Sunday night.
But the guy working next to me two nights ago had a funny call. He was getting harrassed for being a telemarketer, and the lady who was yelling at him got so annoyed at him call (even though he was very polite) that she dropped her baby! I mean really...who drops a kid while they're on the phone?

Orange Blossom What kinds of stuff do you code? I don't remember you ever telling me... Eh, I do a little bit of Java, a little bit more of C++ and beyond that, I do a few scripting languages, most notably a LISP-based interpreter AKA MU* softcode.
