Cautious eyes searched the Growlith’s face, taking on a glaze that indicated her thoughts were turning inward leaving her visual focus not fixed on anything particular.
Her mouth opened slightly, brow creasing in concern, before her head glanced to the side. Searching the bleak, cold laboratory beyond
She didn’t have any idea what was going on, what could they have done to Lance?
Vany’n knew it was bad, she all those times she had experiences with Rocket, as many times as she’s heard the reports as Rosie read, or from talk with other trainers, Vany’n couldn’t visualize this, she couldn’t quite comprehend just how bad this was. She tried to keep her hope up, but, but even now the seed of doubt was starting to eat at her, was there anything anyone can do?
She did not want her Rosie involved with this…
Vany’n looked to Komashi once again, bowing her head against the bars.

"" she said quietly before tilting her head slightly. "" She liked this Vaporeon. She was very nice and seemed to be very wise and knowledgable. Things wouldn't be so bad here if they stayed together.
"All right, its your turn. Time to get a sample," said a tech as he approached Vahyn's cage with a syringe. Komashi looked up and flattened her ears. She'd heard those words before. Was this Vaporeon really going to be put in the same situation as her? Komashi wouldn't wish that on any Pokemon, but its not like they had a choice in the matter.

Vany'n offered the younger pokemon a kind smile, hoping it would lend some comfort to her.
It seemed to fit the young Growlith, Lance took care with choosing a good name for her.
When her own name was inquired, Vany'n replied with the same softness in her voice,
There was an interruption as someone approached the cages and spoke.
It wasn't until Vany'n turned to look that she noticed they were heading toward her.
What thin, fine fur she had bristled along the back of her neck, the pupils of her eyes dilating in anger and fear.
Her eyes were locked on the Rocket, flicking from the syringe to the human, though she made no move to attack or oppose him. she learned already that it would not help her in the least.
Was this what she was going to have to get used to?
So be it, perhaps she could do some good in trying to be some kind of support for the other pokemon here, for Komashi.

Vahy'n's cage was unlocked and the tech reached in. One poke with the needle, and the syringe was filled with the Vaporeon's blood. Once done, a piece of cotton was pressed against the site for a few seconds until the blood stopped. Then that was it. The cage was closed again and the tech took the blood sample, labeled it, and placed it in a storage container.
Komashi watched all of this in silence, although she radiated with apprehension. Once the tech had left, she relaxed again and looked back at Vahy'n. ""

Vany'n behaved, though she watched him carefully.
It was over as quickly as it started though, and as her cage door was closed, she relaxed a little, blinking in a perplexed state.
What was that about?
<... What are they going to do with my blood?> she asked, sliding herself closer to the front of the cage, to watch her blood being put into some kind of cold storage.
The chain from her fin jingled as she tilted her head to the side toward Komashi.
Assuming the same was done to all pokemon in this room.

"" Komashi confessed. She really had no idea what that was all about. She honestly had expected something worse to happen.
The glinting of Vahy'n's jewelry then caught her attention and Komashi tilted her head. "" she asked, fascinated by the jewelery. It was just as beautiful as the Vaporeon's markings were. ""

She was quiet with her thoughts for a time, her mind coming up a few explanations for that... none she was happy with. not that she was happy with anything the Rockets would do.
When Komashi asked Vany'n about her jewelry, the Vaporeon tilted her head, turning it to better show the golden beads, while her own eyes studied them from the corner of her eye.
She explained.

Komashi would agree that there was nothing pleasant about Team Rocket, not that she had seen anyway. She'd hated them from the time she had been captured. Little did the Growlithe know that she and the Vaporeon had certain connections. But when she saw Lance, she instantly knew something was different about him, and it had all become clear rather quickly.
"" she asked, wondering at the jewelry. She'd never seen a Pokemon wear such a beautiful accessory before. But then she had been wild in a very remote place before being caught by that Rocket.

Vany'n tilted her head, followed by her slowly lowering herself back to the floor of the cage.
she said, with a nod, though the smile that followed looked deeply sad.
Still, the Vaporeon smiled. lifting up one of her paws to show one of the other golden hoops around her wrist, lowering her head, she used her mouth to pry it off, and slip it onto the cage ground with a light clatter.

Vahy'n's answer was a bit confusing, and Komashi tilted her head slightly. She wasn't sure what the Vaporeon meant, but the word "was" did get her attention. "" she asked softly, carefully... certainly not wanting to upset the nice water type if she didn't want to answer.
But as Vahy'n slipped off one of the gold bracelets, the Growlithe's head tilted the other way, watching her. Wondering why she was doing that.

The Vaporeon certainly looked sad at the question, but no more so then she had a few moments ago, or at least not that she was showing.
she answered, reaching a paw down to scoop the bracelet up.
It took her a second, but she managed to slip the piece of jewelry through the bars, over to the Growlithe.
Once again, it clattered when it hit the ground, bouncing once before landing close to the fire type's paw.

Komashi's ears flattened and she ducked her head in quietly apology and sorrow as Vahy'n answered her question. "" She said softly, not sure what else to say. She didn't quite know that kind of pain, although she might have a clue. She didn't think she would ever see her master again.
However, as the gold bangle clattered and landed next to her paw, the Growlithe blinked. She stared at the piece of jewelry for a moment before looking up at her new Vaporeon friend. "

A sad smile barely feathered the corners of Vany'n lips.
she looked back up at Komashi, and shook her head softly. in a gesture that showed the Growlithe that it was okay.
She explained, lifting her head up again. She was sure it was going to be hard to keep it secret, and that it would probably be taken away from Komashi very soon, But if it provided some comfort.

An ear twitched and some recognition flickered in Komashi's eyes. Faleen.... why did she recognize that name? It was very familiar.
She was distracted momentarily by these thoughts when Vahy'n's meaningful words reached her ears. There was a soft whimpering that came from the puppy, tears welling up in her eyes. She knew that Vahy'n was right but.. it was so hard. Still, she took the bracelet and slipped it over one of her paws and up her stocky leg. She buried it in the fur, hoping that it might go unnoticed. "" she said softly.
She thought of her master and his kind face and words to her not long after that woman had handed her over to him. Browns eyes then widened and Komashi suddenly got to her feet with a snarl. "" The snarl and words were not directed at Vahy'n, but merely a reaction.

Vany'n remained silent as Komashi moved the band onto her own arm, watching the jewelry with quiet eyes before meeting the pup's look.
The sudden look of realization and the fire type jumping to her feet pulled a surprised look from Vany'n, her eyes growing wide with surprise, mostly by the sudden strong reaction from the Growlith, but very quickly registering what she had said.
Yellow eyes widened.
the growlithe did not see happy with knowing Faleen, and this confused her... surly she could not have done something bad to this pokemon? did she know Lance? maybe she was trying to do her part against Team Rocket as well, like Rosie wants to do...
