He gulped down the last of his pizza slice and hopped to his feet, actually leaving some of the pizza behind. "After DDR let's do some karaoke!" he said with a wide grin. "I jackin' ROCK at karaoke!" He hopped onto the DDR platform as soon as the ghoul from before got off, and digging out a few seeds from his pocket.

He sucked at dancing, he remembered abruptly. Danny was SO going to PWN him. But oh well.

Danny couldn't help but snort at the amount of seeds in Roch's pocket. It was a tad pathetic, really. She would never say anything though. She believed in Roch's dignity, though she wouldn't word it that way. She would say something like "it would make him sad if I did x, so I will y."

As she hopped on the platform, she too recalled how much she sucked at dancing. Her idea of dancing was a mosh, or random flailing. It was not elegant to say the least.

Which is why it was a good thing that DDR required NO dance skill whatsoever. It required the ability to step on a square of arrows in a certain arrow, rather quickly. This is where Danny excelled. All of her bruteball drills would surely pay off, right? Quick footwork and what not?

She rolled her eyes and selected a song with her feet. "Just don't cry when I win!" she said, with a goofy smile. This was like ... her element. Video games and quick footwork? Yes please. She ended up picking a techno remix of the classic song This is Halloween. It was an easy song, so Danny didn't think she'd have any trouble. Of course, she didn't know how good Roch was at this game.

"Jack, I HATE techno," Roch complained, failing spectacularly at the game, but grinning regardless. "Next round! Something that's an actual song, not a horrible remake!" he insisted. As far as he was concerned the interview had gone perfectly.

Or well enough. He grabbed the chance to pick the next song, yet another version of This Is Halloween, one with more rock to it.

Part way through the song, Danny had fallen off the beat, so her score wasn't as great as it could have been. Of course, it was definitely better than Roch's by a long shot. Not that Danny expected any less.

She gave a laugh as his misery and said, "You hate everything!" As he picked a song, she just giggled and tapped along to the beat of the random background song. This was a lot more fun than an interview.

Finally Roch picked a song and the words "ROUND 2" flashed on the screen in bold yellow and green letters. A buzzer and then a screen signified the round had begun. "You better not cry when I beat you at your own song," she taunted. Danny liked all sorts of music, but this type of song definitely belonged to Roch.

As the song carried on, Danny tapped out the appropriate beat, even spinning her body when necessary. Right in the middle of dancing, Danny blurted out, "Roch I want one-a these. We should get one!"

"Jack, Danny, you threw off the game," Roch complained as they finished. "You can see if they got some sort of attachment for your game system, it ain't that big a deal," he said. They were ready for the third and final stage, but he was bored by now. "Hey, let's go karaoke!"

Just as she was about to finish the game, the screen all of a sudden glitched and glazed over in a bright, obnoxious green color. It played an endless loop of the same one second bit of the song, and the screen occasionally flashed with squares of blue and red. Obviously, the machine had broken.

"Heyyyy," Danny whined. Without even a thought of consequence, her foot traced upwards in a graceful arc, and smacked the machine. "Stop being broken!" With each word, she rammed her foot into the machine one more time. Those who know Danny will know that she was not a light kicker- she could've seriously broken this machine.

Luckily it seemed built to withstand a hundred Dannys, so she just kicked the machine one last time, stuck out her tongue, and raced after Roch.

Kareoke eh? Danny wasn't particularly fond of singing, but she didn't dislike it either. She would belt it out at the top of her lungs if you asked her to, but she wouldn't request to play it.

"Can't we do something elseeeee," she oozed. Danny's tail flickered back and forth dangerously. In such a crowded, padded place, someone could easily get set on fire.

"How about I go do karaoke and you go beat on more machines?" Roch offered. "I just wanna do one song. I haven't gotten to do it on a stage since the fish festival thing."

In other words he was going to do it whether she liked it or not. "Meet you in ten?"

Danny slammed her head on the machine, clearly giving up on the situation. She had come here to be formal, to do an official interview, and act like esteemed members of society. Couldn't she just have this one thing?

Of course not, she was Danny, and he was Roch. That would literally never happen, no matter how much torturing or persuasion they were put under.

"I'm going to head back, you have fun singing," she said, perhaps a bit downcast. Maybe it was her fault for picking the location, but Danny actually really wanted to have something serious tonight. It wasn't often that she got to pull out the "I am a serious person" card, and this yearbook thing had actually given her an opportunity to do so.

Maybe another part of it was just that she didn't want to hear Roch bellow out some song at the top of his lungs. "Make sure to come to school tomorrow, okay?" She wasn't about to care how late he stayed out- like that could ever matter to her. She just wanted to make sure he was at least alive tomorrow. Only Jack knew what kinds of trouble that boil could get himself into before morning.

"Yeah, sure," he said, waving it off and heading for the stage. He was completely oblivious to the whole "wanting to be serious" thing. Well, it made sense, she was Danny, he was Roch. Who wanted serious? Besides, karaoke!!
