"Yes, that was the one." It was beginning to understand why Riley had that sort of twitch around him, though he seemed fairly harmless, if excitable. Rather pastry-cat-esque, really. Unusual, for a demon - at least in Malodore's experience.
A faint nyan drew the plague doctor's attention. Dolce was back, having emerged out from under Malodore's bed, where he had gone to ground earlier. The pastry-cat padded towards them once more, though it was slanting away from Charlie.
"Ah, yes - thank you for bringing him back," Malodore added, ducking its head sheepishly. "He gets out every so often."

Charlie scratched his head.
"I ... didnt ..." Then he stopped and thought about it. Did he want to tell the truth or maybe if he lied he'd get some form of treat. Candy? With no one there to tell him lying was wrong, the demon went ahead and lied.
"Oh man you have no idea how hard it was to herd that .. pastry cat?" Charlie eyed it, "But I managed to get him back," His hands went on his hips and his chest proudly puffed out. He was a hero. No, he had just told a lie. And a really unimpressive one at that.

"They are rather fast creatures, aren't they? Which brings us back to speed, and rainbows." That wasn't a segue to be proud of, but it worked. "Do you fly with those wings of yours?"

Charlies chest was still puffed out. He was still patting him self on the back for being a good little fibber. The good part could have been debated.
"Fly? Of course I fly," Charlie proudly extended his wings for Malodore to get a better look.

"Ah, va bene. Here is my hypothesis, then: perhaps you could get enough speed to, ah, rainbow if you soared through the air?"

Charlie stared at Malodore.
"....." The demon crossed his arms for a moment and then nodded, "Alright bird...man? I think Im gonna give it a shot then." Charlie stretched his wings out and glared, best he could, down the long corridor of the undead dorms.
A smarter student would have suggested testing this theory out side. But Charlie wasn't a smarter student. Charlie was Charlie. And he took off in a leap to flight, Only to crash into ground again. He learned the hard way his wing span was not about to work in such a closed off area.
Charlie laid there.
".. Maybe We should go out side," He finally confessed.

Malodore jerked back, startled, as Charlie jumped into the air then collapsed again. If its heart had been beating, it probably would have stopped for a moment; as it was, the plague doctor was just relieved that the pink-haired demon hadn't brought down something important along with him. "Absolutely - the limitless space of the sky is absolutely essential. Doing something like that indoors introduces too many variables," it said, after a moment. "Shall we?" It waited in the doorway. They would be going out through the dormitory door, thank you very much, not through its windows. It could only imagine the chaos... Malodores invitation was all Charlie needed to get him self up and follow the gendered question plague doctor to the door way. In truth, Charlie was pretty much starting to build up confidence about his lie. Every step he took reassured him self that he could pull this off.
Charlie was completely confident in him self by the time he was stepping foot out side. Wings were spread out ready to perform this task for Malodore.
"I'm ready when you are ~" He gave the Plague Doctor a thumbs up from under his long sleeves.

"Then, by all means," Malodore said with a flourish; its long sleeves were particularly good for flourishing. This was turning into a proper experiment, wasn't it? It wondered if Riley still had any Icky Stix left.

"Right!" Charle gave the good doctor a nod before he moved his feet in an in place stampede sort of way before taking off and letting his wings do the rest. Yes, Charlies light weight and small stature helped him to do some good speed but it was no where close to the nyan cats. To say the least, Charlie did not produce a rainbow. He turned his head to find this sad truth and the shock was enough to send him down closer to the ground. Little wings flapped furiously again and the demon soared but still there was no rainbow. Frustrated, mostly because he had believed by this point he had produced a rainbow, Charlie let out a yell. "I DONT UNDERSTAND!" And slowly he descended joining the good doctor on the ground. Charlies esteem was shattered.

"Perhaps you need a little help? Some artificial stimulation? Pastry-cats do have a high sugar content, after all. I theorize that is part of what gives them enough energy to attain rainbows," Malodore said with a nod. As if it knew what it was talking about.
It was a theory, okay?!

The word that stood out the most to the demon was SUGAR. That was enough to catch the pink haired demons attention. He looked at the good doctor expectantly like he was about to reveal some sort of sweet treat. Nothing appeared though.
"Sugar...?" He repeated finally.

"Si, of course! It gives you energy, does it not? I am certain it is key." The plague doctor nodded repeatedly. Yes, indeed. Trust the doctor. It knows what it's talking about.
Well, not really. But this was pretty entertaining.

The demon landed and started to search his pockets to see if he had any sort of sugary treat on him. It took a little bit of searching but he finally found an opened pack of sugar color balls. Charlie popped on in his mouth and... didn't feel any different. So then he popped another, and then another, and another. Soon the whole bag was gone and the demon was hyped up on sugar and jittering.
"A-a-all r-r-right!" He did a fist pump. "One more try t-then!" His feet moved as if he was running in place and then off the demon went in to the sky. It was an impressive display even better then his first attempt, but no rainbow followed.
Still, he zoomed through the dark halloween sky, zooming past this and that and zig zagging through branches until one of the branches hit him square in the face. The demon fell backwards back to the ground. There was a dull thud.
He had not managed to produce a rainbow. Now he laid on in the grass a failure. If only he had been born as a my little pony. Namely, rainbow dash.

Malodore sighed - even though it had been pretty sure the experiment was going to fail, it couldn't help but feel obscurely disappointed when no trail of rainbow burst out of... well.
"Alas, my friend, it seems it is not to be," it said, walking up to crouch next to the fallen (literally) angel. "Are you injured?" A little bit of the mischief receded; it didn't actually want to prompt injury!
