Giyari regurgitate emotion_awesome Anyway I aggree with all of this really. Though I like my character as she is so I'm pretty much set to jump into whatever comes around lol. Thinking about it a little, quite a lot of series use a lot of action or drama in the first episode to intice viewers to watch the rest of the series, so... How about starting with a battle? Or a conflict of some sort at least? maybe even a meeting of the knights that had been planned so that they could discuss what to do about whatever? emotion_c8
A council of the Knights to discuss any insergent areas of nightmares to deal with. That could work. That, or just jump into a mass of nightmares making a push at some point in the Aether . . . and let the knights try to figure out why that point was so important. It's a weak point in the worlds, and the Knights get to figure out what that means.
Meanwhile, Thought and Memory are seduced/coerced into the nightmares of Etheria while the knights are distracted. emotion_dealwithit

That's.... not a bad way to start, Ruined. Not a bad way at all. I'm actually looking forward to giving up playing a character, because that will give me some fun advantages in running the thread.
Unless I choose to play some rarely seen NPC, like the King of Dreams.

To further on the two points for locations.
If we go with a gathering of the knights, I think a temple would be cool, like some round table style establishment biggrin
I have this image of it sitting at 'the centre of the dreamers world' aaaaand in each knight sits behind a spoke that connects to an area where their realm of control is most prominent, if you get me. So behind the emerald knight there would be forests and and a lot of land and stuff, behind the silver knight would be cliffs mountains and lots of open sky areas and so on so on >.>
If it was a nightmare attack, it could really be anywhere smile Maybe a roughed up unused corner of etheria? Its weak due to the complete lack of visitors for so long that its started to crumble away? Like that 'ghost town' I wrote up in a post but more extreme. As for more extreme I can immagine bits of the ground and sky maybe glitching away or somethng?
Ok, ramble done... Ignore me if you wish XD

Perhaps we could use the initial knights vs nightmares confrontation to actually cause or result in the breach that allows nightmares out into Earth? Not sure how it would work, but it could create some really interesting dynamics, and give a shoving-off point to the rest of the roleplay.

As for the room, I agree with the rainbow table thing- a round table with wedges for us all. Nice.
During or after the meeting, the nightmares can attack, and give us that incentive to meet in combat, perhaps under the castle, at the center of Etheria?

What if, Etheria, is a flat world, and on the other side of the world (the flip of the coin, or disk workd if you like Pratchet) there's the nightmare world? And where our temple sits in the middle of the land, there is a nightmare temple on the other side? Maybe each land is linked by caverns and lakes that span throguh the land and join each side up like pores or something... I have no problem with dichomotmy in the dream world. Perhaps the ground can be littered with caves and catacombs as suggested that allow dreams to fall into nightmares, and vice versa.

I have already given up the ideology of Indigo, and what the reasoning is behind her. While that shoots me in the foot when I want to interact beyond the borders of the dream realm . . . I don't want to change too much. Just is a character I am committed to.
