Theo didn't answer Clowrey's questions. He simply listened to her ramble, and half-smiled when she directed herself back at him. He didn't feel obligated to answer anything for her. They didn't know each other beyond this conversation and his motives weren't exactly any of her concern or business. He was here for his own reasons, just like she was here for hers. If his consisted of simply gaining control over his abilities so he didn't accidentally hurt others, what was so wrong with that?

There were plenty who wanted nothing more than to be in control of themselves. It was one reason as to why his mother trained night and day and took her place in the opera so seriously. She wanted command of her voice. Control over that which she possessed. He was no different in his motives, only in his execution.

"They buzzer went off. They should be done now," Theo said plainly.

Honestly, Clowrey's banter had gotten under his skin a little to the point where he was mildly irritated at her. Her words made her seem rather full of herself in his eyes, and he wasn't sure how he should feel about her. Granted, she seemed a little too confident for her own good in his eyes. Him not knowing the limits of his own abilities meant that she would be unable to accurately calculate whether he was strong than her.

Not that he really wanted to be 'stronger' than other people. He wasn't really the competitive sort.

Theo quietly made his way to the oven, grabbing an oven mitt on the way and fluidly opening the door. He grabbed the cookies with his mitted hand and brought it over to the counter where he set them down.

"They just need to cool," He said, giving Clowrey a sideways glance.

Hmm, had she gone too far? Maybe, maybe not. His silence didn't really tell her anything. But after all, these weren't the sort of things normal kids talked about...Then again, they weren't normal kids. One thing stayed the same though--They were still just kids. For what time they had left...As he brought the tray of piping hot goods onto the counter, Clowrey moved over to make room. Then she noticed:
"Hey! You stopped stuttering~!" she exclaimed brightly, just before what would be an aroma to most, an overwhelming scent attacked her nostrils. She shuddered a bit, eyes almost watering from being unprepared for it. There was the sweet trait from the cookie part, but some other sort of sweet from...from fruit, maybe?

She backed away, rubbing her irritated nose again. "Sorry...I have a sensitive nose. It gets really bothersome sometimes, especially when I'm near a garden or something..."
'Or back home where the house is practically made of tea...'

Theo could feel himself mentally slamming his head against a wall at Clowrey's comment about him not stuttering. Did she not think about what she said before she said it? It could be construed as so incredibly rude by so many people that he was practically floored she even let it slip from her lips.

Although Theo forgot this quickly as he noticed Clowrey's eyes being to swell with tears. He wondered if for some reason she possibly took his stark silence and very curt responses as an affront to her feelings, but Clowrey had quickly put those thoughts to rest.

"Uhm... You have allergies or something?" Theo asked. He'd seen a couple kids with allergies in his time. Usually aromatic ones were also linked with food from his experience and the last thing he wanted was for Clowrey to taste his cookies and possible die from them.

Unbeknownst to Clowrey or Theo, they were no longer alone. Someone was lurking in the shadows at another end of the Kitchen, quietly looking around for something.

"No, it's not like that..." Clowrey began to explain, "It came when I got my powers...I'm just really sensitive to attributes of smell. Sweet, bitter, sour...Like, everything's multiplied by 10. I'll get use to it in a minute..." Now if only that minute would just pass...! She started to rub the tear out of her eyes, putting a hand down on the counter behind her so she wouldn't lose balance...However, she accidentally knocked over a canister of spoons and ladles causing a small clatter. On the other end of the kitchen, the intruder began to panic--No one was suppose to be in here! The student spun around with wide eyes, his sudden, panicky shout surprising Clowrey as well. "What the--?!"
"OH GOD OH GOD!" the student shouted out, flames shooting out of his hands; looks like he wasn't quite in control of his powers yet..."Hit the deck!" Clowrey called out, pulling Theo down to the floor just as the flames shot over where their heads had been...

Once the flames stopped, Clowrey looked down to Theo: "Uhh, you okay?" She got off of him and stood...She was about ready to give the Pyro student a piece of her mind, but the idiot had already run off. "I think he's the same guy who nearly burned the gym down..." she mumbled to herself. Clowrey had yet to be aware of the small lick of flame on her shoulder...

Theo hadn't been expecting to be face first into the floor, but that was where he was now. In a few brief moments Clowrey had managed to knock utensils onto the floor and spook a previously unknown student into shooting fire in their general direction. Theo was beginning to feel as if his life was a little more important than being able to control his abilities at this point.

When Clowrey asked if Theo was ok, he was silent. He could feel his heart thumping out of his chest and it took him a moment to lift his head to answer her... Or there would have been an answer save for the fact that Clowrey's person happened to be on fire.

"FIRE!" Theo screeched, stupidly using his open palms to put out the fire on Clowrey's shoulder.

    "FIRE!"
    "HOLY SHI--WHAT?!"
Clowrey stared at her shoulder, eyes widening at the growing flame and a Tasean curse passed her lips. Before she could react however, Theo was already trying to put it out with his hands--Thankfully it was still small and it was gone after a few pats. 'I am going to MURDER that fire brat tomorrow!' she screamed in her head, checking to see if the fire had burned her. Nope...Just barely singed a hole in her shirt...
"Aww...this was my favorite shirt," she grumbled under her breath. "Ah! Hey wait--Are your hands okay?!" She grabbed at his hands and turned them over to check his palms...

Theo's face went red as soon as Clowrey took hold of his hands and turned them so she could see his palms. He hadn't held a girls hand, or had his hand held by a girl, for quite a long time now and he just couldn't help as his heart thumped and the blush spread rapidly. This wasn't quite the response he normally would have given, but Theo was genuinely shy about being touched so the reaction for him was normal.

Looking down at his palms to hide the blush on his face he noticed the state they were in. He couldn't feel the pain yet, but he could definitely see it. Both his hands were burned to some degree; his left hand had a red mark on his palm which was definitely the type or burn you got when you accidentally touched something, but his right hand was far more severe. The red extended out towards the middle of his fingers and most of his thumb, but the middle had some forming bubbles that would surely fill with fluid.

"OH, uhm... I... I think... Infirmary," He managed to say, stuttering from the the scenario and not from the shock of how his hand looked.

She was unaware that Theo was blushing, or had tensed up because she'd gotten too close...she was busy making sure his wounds weren't too bad. "Yeah...But lets at least poke around for the kitchen medical kit...It must hurt," Clowrey commented softly, "Sorry..." She let go of his hands, and turned away from him. It, thankfully, wasn't hard to find the emergency kit as there was only one bright red cross in the room; she pulled the box from the wall and came back to him. "Don't worry--I've gotten a lot of scrapes and burns myself when I was younger," the girl piped up, "so I've done this before. Here, show me your hands again." She held out a hand in wait.

"I-it's not your fault," Theo commented quickly as Clowrey let go fo him and turned away to locate the first aid kit.

He never understood why people apologized when they hadn't done anything wrong. It's not like she was the one who set herself on fire. It was some other kid, and if anything he should be forced to apologize to them. He's the one who was sneaking around and spooked himself by being nervous and jumpy. If you're not willing to accept the risk involved in possibly breaking a rule, you don't break it. But Theo digressed. He still didn't understand why people apologized for things they didn't know. Half the time he didn't know why he was apologizing for something he never did.

Are we all just dumb? He wondered to himself as Clowrey return, first aid kit in hand.

"Y-You've had a lot of scrapes and burns?" Theo questioned quietly, holding out his palms to Clowrey so she may treat them. What on earth was her childhood like where she would even need to use the descriptor 'a lot'. It wasn't that Theo had never burnt himself or gotten scrapes either, because he had, but not enough to warrant using 'a lot'.

She opened the kit, surveying what was inside. Of course Clowrey didn't have any sort of skill or training to do much but keep his wounds from getting infected and lessening the pain but...she felt like it was the least she could do.
'If I had just been quicker to duck or noticed the flame on my shoulder quicker...' she thought to herself, 'someone else wouldn't have gotten hurt for me.'

"Y-you've had a lot of scrapes and burns?"
When he asked that, Clowrey had just started to lightly dab the welts and burns with the some pain relief medicine. Maybe she had worded it oddly? After all, it could've meant she was hurt from A LOT of things. Some, she would have to clear up right away. "Ah well...yeah," she began to explain with a chuckle. "My home back in Tasea is one of those kinda small working towns, y'know? Everyone knew who each other were and everyone was always busy...Because we're kind of out of the way and relied on our own town for support, instead of big names or city officials, it was also heavily suggested we learn how to defend ourselves...Can't let troublemakers think small towns meant small willpower~" She smiled softly, reminiscing those old days training with her comrades and the Old Man. Despite the daily conflicts between her and her Sifu, they weren't all bad; sometimes it was really fun!

"Some of my bruises were from me training...Though I admit a lot others were me getting into trouble and sticking my nose into other people's business." She put down the anesthetic and reached for some cooling gel; "I guess there were just times I couldn't stand by and watch." She used the phrase again, 'a lot'...but she didn't divulge in what she meant in the last half of that comment. "My brother's always saying how 'stupidly impulsive' I am," she quipped, "Aaaaaaand, I guess that's true. I say things without thinking, I act on my emotions, and...I never hesitate to jump headfirst into trouble when I feel something needs to be done; I can't wait for someone else, when I'm already right there...I'm just like that." She then grabbed some bandages, carefully wrapping it around Theo's hands with clear experience.

She looked up to meet his gaze, her dull brown eyes through her shades to his own bright red ones--"But I'd never really regret doing what I did. I'm proud to say that not one of my old wounds wasn't deserved or had some value of memory to me. Not a single one..." She trailed off then, releasing his wrapped hands and instinctively covering her left shoulder and rubbed it in nervous habit. ". . .Yes, not one," Clowrey muttered under her breath. It didn't sound like she was talking to Theo that time, rather, was reassuring herself of something.
    "Anyway, I'm rambling off again."

She moved backwards, giving the boy some space after her uninhibited nature probably numbed him with all her yammering. "Haha, if it ever sounds like I'm talking too much, you can just tell me. Okay, Theo?" She winked playfully, laughing a little more.

Theo's hands twitched instinctively when the pain relief medication touched the burns. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would have, but the automatic response to pull away probably made it seem like it was much worse. Regardless, his hands felt much better after Clowrey had dabbed them. She was so concerned about the fact he had gotten hurt on her account, it was rather endearing; it kinda contradicted his initial feelings towards her.

"Ohhh," Theo said, quietly.

She came from a small town, some ways out of the way from any place big. It made sense she'd get a lot of scrapes and burns if she had to learn to defend herself. Theo didn't have a background like that, though. He lived in the city, though it was closer to the poorer end of the city. They had police and civil servants to protect them or aid them when they were in need. He'd never learned to protect himself, although he did buy mace once.

"Uhm, but... Those can be rather admirable traits," Theo commented in regards to her own behaviors, "It's hero quality. You, uhm... Have to be impulsive sometimes. You can't always, uhm.... You can't always sit there and think things through."

Theo gave Clowrey a smile, a genuine smile. Not one of his nervous ones, but a calm, sincere smile that made the poor boy look like a bashful chipmunk. He blushed slightly when she winked at him.

"I don't think you talk too much Clowrey," He said quietly, with a small laugh, "I mean, uhm. It's nice to talk to someone this much period, heh."

Clow smiled rather sheepishly when Theo complimented on the very aspects that brought her brother to lecture her so many times before. It was one of the very few times someone had done that...She chuckled again, "Heh, thanks for saying that; I appreciate it. You're very sweet." Ah, there was that 'saying things before she thinks' part of her nature again--She had no hidden or underlying meanings when she said that...But for how her encounter with Theo went so far, it seemed to be a fact that the boy was gentle and, like she said, sweet.

"Well if you ever get the urge to talk to someone, or y'know, just want to hang out--I'll be around," Clowrey replied, "Being far from home...everyone needs someone they can depend on. I'd like to think I can be such a person for you." Or any other pal, really, but did she really need to point that out?
    Ehhh...He wouldn't misunderstand. RIght?
Her stomach began to growl lightly again. "Ah hah...Really shouldn't have skipped dinner service..." she grimaced with a joking smirk.

Theo smiled slightly and scratched the back of his neck tentatively as Clowrey complimented him. He didn't really find himself all that sweet, to be honest. If others knew his inner thoughts they'd probably think he was the biggest jerk in the world... Which than begged the question of whether or not someone at the Academy could do that. It was a rather scary idea that someone might be able to read his mind and know how he truly felt about someone else or something else.

"T-thanks, Clowrey. That's, uhm, nice to know," Theo said quietly.

Had he made a friend? A real friend? The thought boggled him a little bit. He hadn't had a friend in so long, not since his abilities were outed and he became the pariah of his school. The only 'friends' he really had were the actors, ballerinas and singers at the opera house, and even than they were all much older than he was.

"Oh!" Theo said, remembering Clowrey being hungry and the fact there were cookies made sitting on the counter. Or at least, he hoped there were still cookies sitting on the counter. After the incident with the fire starter, he wasn't sure what shape the cookies were in.

"T-the cookies," He mentioned, getting up from the floor and wincing heavily as he had braced himself with his injured hands. He turned to look at the tray on the counter and frowned in disappointment. Half the tray was burnt to a crisp by the startled fire starter. If the tray had been alright there would have been plenty to give to Clowrey and Anemone, but now there was only enough for a couple each. He sighed.

"Uhm, some of the cookies made it... Uhm. Would you like one?" He offered, grabbing the tray which was surprisingly cool by this point, as were most of the cookies.

"Oh..." Clowrey grimaced slightly when she saw what happened to most of the cookies. 'Seriously, that kid is going to get it the next time I see him,' she thought to herself before turning her attention back to Theo. He'd worked hard to make all those treats--Surely he hadn't planned to eat them all himself? Even when Clowrey popped into the picture, that was a HUGE batch of cookies he made.

She smiled, replying him with a:
"Thanks." Then she promptly reached for one of the less burnt cookies.
It really didn't matter either way if she ate one of the safe cookies anyhow. They'd still...
"It might be pushing our luck if we stayed around to make another batch--One of the teachers will surely come in to check if we linger. You oughta save the ones you got left for whatever you had planned." She bite into the blackened sweet, eating it like there was no problem with it at all. "I don't have a sense of taste anymore," Clowrey explained before he could ask out of shock. "I lost it...right when I got my powers. Everything tastes like ash to me. Even water..." That was actually how she found out--It was the first thing she had after the incident...It had really came as a shock to her at first, but after a while she managed to get use to it. Though she had only said it in hopes to lessen whatever alarm he had.

"Heh, anyway. Lets scoot before someone does find us here~"

"Yeah it's probably best if w-," Theo's jaw dropped a little when Clowrey told him she could no longer taste anything; that the reality of her situation was that everything now tasted like ash to her, even water.

"I'm... I'm so sorry, Clowrey," Theo said quietly.

Clowrey was probably used to people saying that to her, but for Theo to hear something like that stirred quite a bit of sorrow in him. Her powers cost her the ability to taste, and Theo's cost him nothing outwardly. All his consequences were when his powers were in action. He could go on living without singing for the rest of his life and live happily, Clowrey would never be able to taste food again. It was truly something to be mournful of in Theo's eyes.

Theo grabbed one of his cookies to taste it himself, "I should probably try them before I give any to Anemone, my roommate."

He bit into one of the cookies, and winced slightly. He had grabbed one of the more burnt cookies so Ane and Clowrey would be able to have some of the untouched cookies. It was a little more crunchy than he was used to and the blackened edges were terrible but the inside was nice and warm and moist. Sweet fruit and chocolate graced his taste buds and he gave Clowrey a smile.

"Aside from the burn, they don't taste bad," He said, quickly grabbing some tin-foil from the nearby counter and packing up the cookies into little bundles. He put most of the burnt ones in his little bundle, the not so burnt and fine cookies in Clowrey's bundle and the untouched cookies in Anemone's bundle.

Since Clowrey said she couldn't taste the cookies anyway, he figured she wouldn't mind too much if she got a couple of the over-done but not blackened crispy cookies. He'd take the burnt or slightly inedible ones, he didn't mind.

"Here," He said, handing Clowrey a small package of cookies as he got ready to head out with Clowrey, so they wouldn't get caught by any of the teachers. "For you."
