"I can see that," Izaya answered Skunketsu softly, chuckling a little as he made a mental note. So Tsuki sort of raised him? How did a pokemon, especially a clone, come to raise a human child? What about Skunketsu's real parents? If he had a lack of parents, that would have explained a lot in regards to his public behavior and his apparent lack of common sense regarding what was socially acceptable. Grown men in hero costumes certainly didn't seem to fit into that category.

"Raised you, huh? Must have been quite something to be raised by a pokemon. Also, no need to apologize; all is forgiven." Not that he really believed Tsuki was sorry for anything anyway. Even as they ventured onward with Skunketsu in the lead, Izaya kept his hands in his parka pocket, watching the Mewtwo out the corner of his eye. The last thing he wanted was to make it angry to the point of overruling his 'son's' judgement of him.

The legendary paused only a moment before turning back to Orihara, clearly establishing his feelings about the parka-wearing grunt. Nakura put up his palms defensively, offering Tsuki a meek smile as Skunketsu walked ahead. "I appreciate the honesty, Tsuki-san, but must you be so quick to judge?" he asked with timid tones. "I'm just very interested in this line of work that your...'son' is so passionate about pursuing. I must say, he has a very unique outlook on life. It's admirable, if a bit naive."

Izaya's expression darkened, revealing a slightly more serious side to him. "I couldn't help but notice earlier - you think so too, right? That Skunketsu-san's actions will get him into trouble some day if he isn't careful?" The Rocket glanced ahead toward the masked man's form. "Though his cause seems noble and righteous enough, there's a lot of danger in it for him that I can't help but think he isn't yet aware of. I wonder..." He tapped an index finger against his chin. "...have you ever considered trying to talk him out of it, Tsuki-san? He's a brave man, truly, but bravery usually comes at the price of foolishness. Don't tell me you don't fear for his safety."

Stopping a moment, Izaya looked at the Mewtwo. "What if one day you are no longer around to protect him, but he's still as confident and reckless as ever? He could get hurt, captured, or tortured even." The skinny man shrugged. "Anything can happen with the people around Camphoreon. I was kidnapped once myself and carried off in a briefcase. Then they put a linen bag over my head and threatened to break each of my fingers one by one. It's a frightening experience, I'll tell you."

"Or," he added, looking as though he had come upon a startling revelation. "What if someone captures and uses him to get to you? That's a worrisome thought, isn't it? Don't you think that maybe you should get him to do less poking around in the event that he gets himself in trouble you can't get him out of one day?"

Mewtwo glared back at the young male, looking more annoyed by the sentence. " I'm not sure if your ware of this, but we have a brain." He then stopped letting his master get even further ahead. The further he got away, the more time he had to kick this man's a**. But.... He would listen a bit more to his man, just to see if this man could ever be taught. His cup seemed to be already full.

"Izaya, you say all this as if you two have been best friends forever. Go ahead, tell me more about the man I've been living with for 27 years."Mewtwo watched Izaya, trying to make a point. He then sighed, looking over to his human and watching him for a moment.

Skunketsu had noticed some children staring up at him, looking mighty confused at his appearance, so he stopped to talk to them for a moment, "I'm Skunketsu! The super hero that will be guarding this town from now on!"

"Your Lame...."
"So there's ---- Hey! I didn't even finish yet!"
"Your so lame."
"Come onnnnn, don't be like that."
"Are you a crazy person?"

Mewtwo sighed again, watching the kids and Skunketsu, he really wished that man would have had a child hood... Friends... A different hobby.... He slowly looked back at Izaya," Your right, I worry about him. But why are you concerned? Are you afraid of him?" he smiled a little as he paused.

"He's a grown man, living longer then his age shows. I know your trying to get information out of me, but out of respect for him I won't say a word. You already got me to say more then he wanted me to share with you." His smile faded a bit as he thought about it," I suppose that's why he even keeps me at an arms length these days. I'll tell you this, he doesn't trust anyone these days, and is more secretive then you make him out to be. He's smarter then you give him credit for, and he's stronger then just your average human being. Of course you probably didn't notice those muscles in that tight suit he wears."So mewtwo could be sarcastic could he? At least he seemed calmer towards Izaya.

Skunketsu looked at the two of them, rubbing his head as the kids teased him. He smiled at them sheepishly, looking as dumb as ever.
"I think he's a ***** style="color: black">"W-wait! I am not!"

Mewtwo watched Skunketsu deal with the children, he really was a great actor. Too good, but that's what Skunketsu had worked at for so long... " Izaya, your broken aren't you? A man that's been tortured in such away couldn't have gotten away without changing, and you take it out in your own way. Humans are all alike, in one way or another, not even there reasons are different. Just there path." He looked back to Izaya, " And if he is captured, tortured again, he'd never give me up. It's a terrible thought, but it's his decision, not mine. My only wish is that he finds someone he treasures some day."

((Sorry; I had typed most of my reply up already, but then the window froze on me, so I had to start over. It might not be entirely up to par. I think I included all the main points I had been trying to make, but it doesn't sound as eloquent as I'd had it before. sweatdrop Hope it still makes sense.))

"I hope you don't mean you share a single brain," Izaya jeered softly, referring to the wording Tsuki had used. Still, he acknowledged the Mewtwo's discontent with the way the informer was making presumptions about Skunketsu. After all, 27 years was longer than he had been alive. Luckily, the legendary seemed to soften as he watched the costumed hero ahead of them.

The Rocket had to stifle a snicker as he heard the children's reactions to the new savior of Camphoreon. He wondered how Skunketsu still felt the need to persist with his morals and ideals when he must have received strange looks and endless ridicule on a daily basis. Though he seemed to have a kid's enthusiasm, his maturity showed in his lack of sensitivity towards the taunts and teasing. Either that, or he was just plain oblivious.

Izaya didn't think so, though. He turned back to the Mewtwo and laughed as he was questioned. "Afraid?" he repeated, attempting to conceal his uneasiness at the legendary's smile with a grin of his own. "If there's anyone I should be afraid of, isn't it you, Tsuki-san?" He didn't answer the inquiries asked of him, acting as though he he hadn't heard.

Still, as Tsuki's smile disappeared, so did Orihara's. He scrutinized the back of the masked figure ahead, appearantly lost in thought. "I know he keeps secrets," Izaya said calmly in low tones, his gaze not leaving Skunketsu. "Everyone does. Him probably more than most." His eyes narrowed. "I don't doubt that he's clever. That doesn't mean he knows how to interact or fit in with society, however," the younger male pointed out.

"The smartest people are often shunned by society, in fact, simply for that which sets them apart. People don’t understand their atypical ways of thinking, revolutionary though they may be. Skunketsu has ideals that few others share – perhaps his pokemon and small, innocent children, but no one his own age. That causes problems," Izaya remarked. "That’s why he’s so distant from the rest of reality. He has a wall that’s sheltering him from the real world, and that wall is you. He’ll never learn to live normally or learn to be afraid of real threats if you’re always there to protect him."

"I know better than to judge people by appearance," he assured Tsuki. "People like me can’t afford to underestimate others. The person I hate the most in this world is inhumanly strong, though you couldn’t tell by looking at him. Adversely, though Skunketsu-san may be physically fit, it would mean little if he doesn’t have the heart to use his strength against others. For all I know, he could be gentle as a lamb without the will to hurt a fly."

Skunketsu was smiling good-naturedly now, even as the kids were still teasing him. There was a patience and tenderness in his demeanor that Orihara sensed went deeper than just appearances. He wondered idly how the man could have such a strong sense of morals and a passion for what he did that he could withstand all the ridicule the world must have thrown at him day in and day out. Most people would have been worn down long ago.

Besides his physical strength, the informant suspected that Skunketsu had built up higher-than-average mental and emotional strength as well in order to endure the cruelty of the world, even with Tsuki by his side. It seemed the hero was wearing more than just a literal mask to hide his true self from society. The act was so good that Izaya didn’t think he would have been able to notice - at least he wouldn’t have if he too hadn’t practiced the same act for years of wearing a metaphorical mask.

After watching Skunketsu a little longer, he grunt turned to smile slyly at Tsuki. “Me? Broken?” he chuckled. “Oh, no, not at all. I staged my own kidnapping, you see. At the time I had been employed by the yakuza to learn about a couple of underground groups who were selling drugs. I let them track me down and abduct me on purpose. Sparing the details,” he continued casually, as if discussing a typical work day, “I’ll admit there was some danger involved and that I was fully prepared to get a nail ripped off or a finger broken."

"However, they wanted to wait until they had my sisters to make me talk, so all I really got was a linen bag over my head, water dumped on me through that, and lamp oil. I managed to blow their cover before they ever got a hold of my sisters, so while it was all planned from the beginning, I walked away with less injury than I’d expected."

He observed Tsuki carefully, watching the intelligent pokemon and wondering if he could be read like humans. Tsuki certainly seemed to think he could read Izaya. Still, the Rocket wasn’t about to let a pokemon get the best of him just like that. "I won’t deny that humans aren’t alike," he said to Tsuki. "You asked earlier why I was concerned about Skunketsu-kun? 'Concern' probably isn’t the right word…'interested' is a better term for it. Ah…to put it simply, he’s like me," Orihara answered with a tired smile.

"You might not think so, but it’s there. We each have different ideals that keep us apart from others. We see the world in ways no one else does. Neither of us have friends, and while I’ll admit part of that is due to the nature of my profession, it’s also partly because of the same reason he doesn't." He nodded to Skunketsu. "We’re different. We think apart from most other humans. It’s as simple as that."

"Not to sound like a skeptic," Grunt Nakura spoke up after a time, "but it would be difficult to say just how strong his will is unless he were actually captured, tortured, and interrogated. I might have misheard, but did you say, 'again'?" the young man questioned curiously. "Has he been through all of that before?" He paused. "Also…about finding someone he treasures. Are you suggesting that you don't think you're enough for him? He certainly seems to treasure you...and not as a prize pokemon, either."

(The rp is getting so INTENSE XD. You reply was great btw, sorry that it just DIED on you. Haha. Btw, are we allowed to just have some criminal come along and be like, " GIVE ME YOU POKEMON/MONEY?!?!?!" just someone random.... -shrug-)

Tsuki looked at Izaya blinking a bit, was this honesty? Or was this just more lies... The male seemed to start to actually open up with what he thinks... Mewtwo was beginning to become more calm, and more curious in Izaya now then anything. Though he said he wasn't broken, these actions weren't the actions of sane man... But whatever, humans usually lived in fantasies of there own anyways.

"I don't know, you don't seem to fear me. As bothersome as that is. " He grunted, floating a little higher now and looking down at him, "Why shouldn't you fear Skunketsu? He's the only thing keeping me from hurting you after all. Besides, he can handle things just fine without me. Better with me, but it's isn't like he's put himself through training either. He's not abnormally strong, like I, but he could pin you down if he had to."

Skunketsu waved to the kids, before moving on, " See yah little children! Keep out of trouble."
"Are you going to get beat up on t.v.?!"
"That'd be so much fun to watch!"

The hero sighed, frowning a bit as he continued forward, "Jeeez, kids around here are so mean." he traveled further towards the heart of the city, just looking around at first. He wasn't used to so many people, it was actually making him feel uneasy. It was hard to see if there was actually any crime going on. But alas, he must prevail.

Mewtwo followed Skunetsu, talking with Izaya a bit more, people were starting to give the mewtwo looks though. "Me sheltering him? Hm..." He paused for a moment, thinking. "It's true, he didn't go to school because he had no parents, and they would take him out of his home if they had found out there was no adult guardian for him. I don't think it was just me though. His mother.... Let's just say, he had to be an adult from a very young age. Because of that, he was very mature, and as you've said... People don't know what to do with a person like that. So, he just didn't want to be ridiculed and he stayed away from other children."

He paused, looking back at Izaya, examining him for moment. The other... He was allot like Skunketsu wasn't he? But they had chosen to be different people. He wasn't sure if the other could be trusted or not just based off of this, but it now made sense why he had hated the other so much at first. The mewtwo actually let out a chuckle as he thought about it. He floated back down, landing beside Izaya. "He wouldn't hurt fly, but he would surely hurt human if it meant protecting the 'innocent'. He'd rather not use violence, but it's necessary in most cases."

Mewtwo sighed, so Izaya caught that bit? Should of figured he would, he turned away though, knowing Skunketsu wouldn't want him to talk about that any further. So he moved along to the next question, " Hmmm... Treasures me... Does he? I suppose he does, somewhere, but like I've said he even keeps me at an arms length. But it's his choice, I shouldn't be getting into his business." He paused, giving Izaya more serious gaze. "This man that you hate wouldn't be that monstrous man your sending Skunketsu out on a wild goose chase for now is it? Lie and I'll know, and this conversation will be over.".

((I'm so glad you seem to enjoy it. XD I know I am. And it's fine; it's not anyone's fault. Also, I think that's perfectly acceptable, yes~! NPCs are a part of the environment, after all <3))

"Don't I? Why, thank you, Tsuki-san. I'll take that as a compliment," the grunt replied with his usual, enigmatic smile. "It's crucial to my work to keep my emotions well-concealed, and if even a psychic-type such as yourself can't trace them, then I find that a very flattering fact indeed. The truth is, though, that I have feelings just the same as any other human whether I like it or not. Also, it would be foolish for me not to fear you, similar to how I find it foolish that Skunketsu doesn't fear for his own saftey."

Tilting his head up slightly as the Mewtwo chose to levitate a little, Izaya's smile widened gradually. "That's still not a reason to fear him, you know. Maybe I should fear being disliked by him or getting on his bad side, but I don't fear him personally. There aren't really any humans who scare me, because, as you said, I find that most of them are all the same. It's their actions I concern myself with. Especially when they come to be unpredictable."

He looked thoughtful at the mention of Skunketsu pinning him down. "I suppose he could, given our body structures, but as I said, I'm pretty used to dealing with brute force." His hand clutched at the switchblade in his pocket. "He's not the only one who knows how to defend himself without pokemon. The difference is I know when I should run. He, on the other hand, seems like the sort who would stay behind to fight even in a hopeless situation."

Izaya, noticing the children leave, raised a hand to his mouth and cupped it in order to call out to Skunketsu ahead of them. "If you think the kids are mean, you should wait until you meet the gangs," he teased. "Not long now before the sun goes down..."

The Rocket glanced around at the people, starting to wonder himself if this walking around with Tsuki was such a good idea. Did people really need to know there was a legendary in town? Skunketsu might have become the subject of more attention than he needed, and not the sort that he wanted. If only Skunketsu had chosen to stick to the allies instead of wandering the public streets...

"You're certainly telling me a lot now for someone who said you wouldn't say a word," Orihara pointed out gingerly. "Why the sudden change of heart?" So the boy really didn't have any parents. Had they died? At what age had they left him? It was an interesting reason not to go to school, and Izaya found it amazing Skunketsu didn't get around to joining a gang himself. Kids like that were always looking for family, but maybe Tsuki and Spike had been enough for him. After all, he had said Tsuki raised him.

The maturity factored in too, though, and the informer guessed the Mewtwo hadn't babied or spoiled Skunketsu, because kids left alone often had to learn to fend for themselves and the hero certainly seemed to have that independent air about him. So...he was one of those ones who was forced to grow up faster than most. That explained his childish tendencies now.

"I see," Izaya answered in response to Tsuki's comment on Skunketsu's outlook on violence. He didn't exactly agree, but as he wasn't one who was capable of much physical violence as it was, Izaya's main weapons were his words. He didn't think Skunketsu would stand to use just that to defend the innocent.

Realizing the Mewtwo chose not to address the question about torture, Izaya let it slide, realizing there was a reason Tsuki believed Skunketsu knew how to keep a secret after all. Why he kept the one closest to him even at arm's length, though, was a curiosity for Orihara. They were similar, yes, but were they that similar? So similar that they wouldn't allow anyone close to them?

Likely it was for different reasons, though. Skunketsu probably didn't want anyone close to him because he didn't want others getting hurt. Izaya, on the other hand, didn't want anyone close to him because he didn't want to get hurt. Did Skunketsu maybe also fear being hurt by those he cared about? Since he seemed to care about the whole world, it seemed pretty likely...

Brought back to reality by Tsuki's new question, Izaya grinned sheepishly, like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. "Well, I never said it was a man, but assuming such...what would be the matter with me saying 'yes'?" he asked. "Yes, I hate him, but he's also a monster. A very dangerous monster who has put many civilian lives in danger. Isn't that the sort of person Skunketsu-san is after?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 05, 2011 9:39 am

Mewtwo looked a bit annoyed, he was spilling more secrets wasn't he? Ahhh stupid kid, it was his fault, he was probably used to doing this to loads of people. Tsuki partially wanted to tell people about Skunketsu though he was prideful like a parent and wanted people to know how 'special' his boy was. Maybe he shouldn't be complimenting the boy, it seemed to go straight to his head, sort of like Skunketsu. They really were alike after all, how funny what opposite the paths they took were, they could probably understand each other quite a bit, it's too bad that they could probably never become friends.

" Are you saying that you would rather fear me... Because I'm not human? And as foolish as it may seem that he doesn't fear for safety, I'm the one who taught him to do that. He couldn't, wouldn't, be half the man he is if he feared death." Tsuki studied Izaya more, yes he knew the other was deadly, it was why he didn't trust the other in the first place. That aura around him, it was something that should scare off humans, but instead it just attracted them. He couldn't understand humans sometimes, honestly they were all annoying. It was hard enough loving one of them as it was.

Skunketsu looked back at Izaya, smiling again and he waved back to them, " Wakata Wakata!". He looked back over towards where he was walking, just in time to walk into a group of men who'm were all seemingly wearing the same color bandanna. It was funny to watch as Skunketsu merely only took a step back, whilst the man he had slammed into fell back like he'd hit a brick wall. Skunketsu looked quite embarrassed, putting his arms up in a defensive sort of way, " I'm so sorry! Let me help you up!"

"You think that's funny, funny man! What's with that weird look? You from a crazy ward or something." The gang helped there own member up before moving closer to Skunketsu, making him back up.

Skunketsu sighed, moving back against a wall, " I just can't catch a break can I? I really didn't mean to slam into you guys, but I can tell your nothing but trouble. Guess this is my first test." The hero felt the back of the wall, as they inched closer, trying to figure out the best move here.

Tsuki stopped, he would have scolded Izaya, saying something along the lines of 'Anyone who you hate would probably be an alley to us!' but his trainer was in trouble. He didn't move to help Skunketsu though, his "fists" clenched as he held himself back. Skunketsu would call onto him if he needed him. He had to learn to trust his trainer.

From a near by building, a younger rocket stood watch over them, he held monocular to his left eye as he watched the Legendary, Izaya, and the new hero. A smirk growing on his face, " This should be interesting Kuro-chan." The strawberry blond haired "child" named Gummy gave the Umbreon on his shoulders a pat as he watched the show. " I wonder how this chapter will end? When Izaya senpai is involved, it's always interesting. This should make for a great chapter hm?"

With an amused expression, the informant was coming to enjoy just how much like a human Tsuki was turning out to be - at least in the way he acted. All-powerful legendaries who were confident in their power had no reason to look as annoyed as the Mewtwo did just now. After all, pokemon as powerful as he was could probably wipe any annoyances off the face of the planet within the blink of an eye.

It was Skunketsu. Skunketsu was the reason Tsuki was so human. The hero had caused the Mewtwo to learn human compassion, emotions, and feelings. This, Izaya felt, was a big mistake on Tsuki's part to allow himself to feel such things. Even if it was just for one person. Especially if it was just for one person. That made Skunketsu the biggest weakness Tsuki had. The grunt wondered if the Mewtwo was aware of this.

"My fears concerning you have more to do with your power as a pokemon and your willingness to use them on me than the fact that you're not human," Izaya stated honestly, "Though the more I'm getting to know you, the more I'm realizing just how 'human' you've become over those 27 years of raising Skunketsu-san." He flicked a piece of lint off his parka. "It's a shame, really."

Blinking in surprise as Tsuki admitted to being the reason behind Skunketsu's fearlessness, Orihara stared before laughing aloud. "Seriously? What were you thinking?" he gasped between breaths. "Only fools don't fear death! Tsuki-san, he's not invulnerable like you. It's dangerous for him to be walking around with your level of confidence without your level of power to back it up. If he ends up battered and broken due to these stupid ideals, then it'll be your fault." His laughter faded as he turned to look at the pokemon with a dark smile. "Since you were the one who instilled it in him in the first place."

"What do you think 'being a man' really means? That phrase is ironic coming from you, a legendary Mewtwo. What do you know about humanity and modern society? No wonder Skunketsu doesn't know anything about that. What little he learned through you skewed and warped his perception of the world as he grew up. You've made a mess of your 'son'. It's your fault he's this way." The grunt took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "I would have thought that a psychic-type as powerful and wise as Mewtwo would have known better than to believe death should be taken lightly. True, it probably means little to you as a legend...but Skunketsu is mortal, just like the rest of us."

Izaya didn't mention how he feared death. How he was constantly searching for a way to overcome it; to find out if there was proof of an afterlife. Ghost pokemon like Celty seemed proof, but who said humans turned to ghosts? The grunt had taken Celty from the lab partially because he'd been asked to, but also partially because he wanted to find out the secret to being immortal, even if it was in heaven or hell. He just wanted to be able to watch over humanity forever and not disappear into nothingness, ceasing to exist. That was what he worried about the most. Some called it cowardice, but Izaya called it interest in self-preservation.

"Oh, my." Looked like the gangs were already out and about. Worse yet, Skunketsu seemed to have inadvertently upset a member of one simply by bumping into him. He watched as the group began to surround the hero, backing him up against a wall. Glancing sideways at Tsuki, he noted the Mewtwo's sudden call to attention and the way the psychic visibly appeared to have trouble restraining himself from coming to the rescue.

Even the way he struggles against his self-control is human-like, Orihara noted, catching sight of Tsuki's balled fists. He expected a psychic to be calmer than this, particularly one who was supposedly so confident in Skunketsu's abilities. Maybe it was just out of habit that Tsuki appeared to worry, just like a brooding mother, even though he probably knew Skunketsu could take them. He's far too human...too easy to read. It was a peculiar phenomenon, being able to read human behaviors in a pokemon, but fascinating.

Frowning, the black-haired young man, glanced about, feeling suddenly as though they were being watched. As far as he could tell, anyone close enough had their attention on the gang and Skunketsu, but the sense of being spied on did not go away. Izaya made a mental note to stay more alert. Who knew what people might have been lurking around with such a prized pokemon as a Mewtwo out in the open and its trainer currently preoccupied?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:23 pm

Tsuki was listening to Izaya, but one wouldn't think it by watching him. His face become serious, emotionless, as he watched Skunketsu. He knew one day he wouldn't be able to watch Skunketsu, that he would long live the Hero, so this was important to him. More important then arguing with some 'arrogant fool'. Although, maybe it was himself that was the arrogant one.

Skunketsu glanced over at Izaya and Tsuki, looking worried for only a moment before seeing the expression on his "moma's" face. Then that frown quickly turned into an enthusiastic smile, turning to look back at the color gang.

"What are you smiling for you idiot?!" The leaded of the group threw the first punch.

Skunketsu moved to the side, though the punch still connected with his shoulder. From there Skunketsu moved as quick as he could, punching , and stunning them, trying to use the fastest and most effective course of action. All of his punches were light, but the places he hit were effective. The gang was down in 30 seconds flat, with Skunketsu only having that bruise on his shoulder. They were only stunned though, they would back up soon.

Skunketsu moved away from the color gang, looked down at them, " Hm... Time to use my Hero Cell!" He glanced back over Tsuki, almost giving him a scolding look as he took out his cell phone, pressing the speed dial number, " Ah, Officer Jenny, this is Skunketsu!... Yeah.... That Mew boy...." he puts his hand up to the phone, looking annoyed, " Why can't people remember my hero name?". He continued to chat with the officer, trying to lead her to the street they were on. The color gang was already starting to recover behind him.

"Don't ignore us!" one of the gang members took out a knife, pointing it at Skunketsu. The hero looked back at them, still having that annoyed look, " Shhh, I'm on phone!" He quickly turned away, " Ah, no, I wasn't saying that to you Jenny, the criminals are just getting back up."

That gang member in particular looked very upset, feeling as if Skunketsu was mocking him, and ran towards him.

Tsuki moved forward, using Psychic on the gang and throwing them back into a wall. He finally moved away from Izaya to beside trainer, " Don't be so reckless Skunketsu." the mewtwo scolded, wondered what the heck was going through this boys mind to make him pull that little stunt.
Skunketsu smiled, fianlly getting off the phone, " We're team mates. I knew you had my back. Getting the police over here is the most important thing right now anyways."
Tsuki sighed, finally looking less serious, and turned back to look at Izaya. This time, he used his telepathy to speak to him, "Fearing death is illogical, it will some day happen to all creatures that take a breath. Skunketsu is my creation, just as humanity created me. He is what he is, and as long as you accept this then we have no problems. If you dare try changing him, I will kill you. And that, is that." He ended the telepathy, turning away to check Skunketsu for wounds.

"I'm fine, I'm fine! Come on, don't worry so much about me."

The Rocket grunt looked on, studying Skunketsu's actions and attacks carefully. It was impressive, really. And here he'd assumed the guy had just been some random civillian fancying himself to be a savior of the public. Perhaps he did have some street-smarts to back it up, or at least the physical strength and dexterity to street fight. He did it all with minimum damage, too. It was evident at this point that Skunketsu had meant it about having prior practice in his hometown.

"Heh..." Smiling perplexedly at the hero's words to the officer over the phone, Izaya raised a brow. It seemed they knew him well enough to have come up with a name for him, though it wasn't the name Skunketsu had hoped for. It seemed easier to say, though, and more fitting for the image of some cartoon superhero.

Making no move to get involved or intervene in any way, the informant remained where he was, determined not to bring the gangsters' attention to himself. He didn't want them seeing his face or recognizing him in the case they recalled him as a former info broker of Camphoreon. It didn't look like that was going to be a problem, though - Skunketsu seemed to have the situation under control. Also, Tsuki appeared ready to jump in if ever he was needed.

Finally, it seemed the Mewtwo couldn't just stand back and watch anymore. He unleashed a psychic attack on the goons, causing Izaya to flinch as they hit the wall. Ouch; looked like that hurt. He was silently glad that hadn't been him.

At the masked man's comment, Orihara shook his head, chuckling quietly to himself. Those gangsters weren't likely to stay in jail more than a day, if they even got time. Most of them were probably underage, anyway. What did Skunketsu believe he was accomplishing? They would be free and going around doing the same thing to other people by the next night if they were as resourceful as half the other gangs in the city. No one seemed to stay incarcerated for long. After all, Skunketsu could have been the one blamed for first disturbing the peace.

Fearing death is natural. It's what gives us a reason to live, Izaya thought silently, not sure if Tsuki could hear him, but not minding if he didn't. If we all just embraced it, then everyone would be committing suicides left and right. Either that, or people would allow others to kill them easily without the least resistance. He considered Tsuki's last words. Acceptance of death isn't the same as not being afraid of it. I couldn't force change on Skunketsu even if I tried because changing himself is a choice only he can choose to make.

Izaya could try to convince him, maybe; persuade him, perhaps, but ultimately it was Skunketsu who would change if he decided to in the future. The grunt didn't think the hero would want to be under the shelter of the Mewtwo forever, since Tsuki appeared to act more like a mother than a partner. Still...while he did, it was an interesting situation. One Orihara knew he could use to his - or, in fact, Team Rocket's - advantage.

Turning to leave the two to themselves, the informant walked slowly toward a narrow alleyway. He'd seen enough for the day and it was getting late. He would be due back at the base any soon and Shizuo was probably still prowling around. Besides, if he continued to pester Tsuki and Skunketsu in their alone time together, the Mewtwo might really have killed him.

And so, with a subtle, enigmatic smile, Izaya waved a hand and disappeared into the darkening shadows of the coming night. "Ja ne," he said softly, not expecting the pair to hear him. "Until we meet again."
