"It's a job," Can't explained, peering down at her for a moment more before chuckling warmly. "So keep your eyes out. When we're done, that bush'll be ours." Ours. Now there was a strange word to Can't. His bemusement turned inward as he contemplated keeping the foal around for a job or two. Fresh eyes could be a blessing... and she'd have to practice her hunting somehow. Tracking missing kimeti, pets, and familiars was as good a way as any.

Rose nodded slowly, her gaze turning toward the trees. A moth would be up in the air, right? "What's on the bush?" she asked, now lowering her voice from the cranky growling she was doing earlier.

"A full batch of ripe berries," Can't murmured, his own voice dropping now that they were resuming the hunt properly. "Fresh and sweet and ready to eat." That made him stop. "You hungry?"

"Um... I... I don't know. I've never eaten anything. Do berries taste good?" Rose only knew her middle felt empty and was making angry rumblings.

"Never... right." Can't sighed quietly, looking at her. "I'll feed you in a bit, but you'll have to make sure to eat on your own after this, got it?" He had no idea quite why he was offering even that much. He wasn't any good with foals. But... she'd made quite an impression.

Rose brightened a bit at the thought as she picked up her pace. "You will? Maybe you aren't as much of a jerk as I thought you were. Thank you!" She paused then, tilting her head. "Is that what you're looking for?" she asked, rearing up a little as she tried -- quite ineffectually -- to reach the moth she saw fluttering about near one tree.

Can't's eyes followed Rose's, and he peered for a moment before nodding. "Good eyes," he noted softly, even as he nosed her back. "Let me," he said, making his way slowly forward, so as not to scare the creature. He murmured soft words of nonsense, coaxing the moth toward him with some draw he'd always seemed to have around other animals, some draw that helped him to do his work. When the moth finally settled into place near him, he looked back at Rose with good humor. "Time to go get paid."

"And to eat?" Rose asked, perking up a bit more. "I want to try the berries you talked about." She seemed to be getting her feet under her a bit more, getting a better hang of this 'walking' thing. It wasn't so hard, once one practiced it a bit.

"And to eat," Can't nodded, his eyes watching her with good cheer now that the anticipation of berries was a real thing, instead of a future dream. "With eyes like that, you might even find a few more jobs for yourself soon," he added, as they walked.

Rose almost pranced next to Can't, her mind racing ahead with thoughts of the future. A job, and food, and she had someone to show her the ropes now... Life was off to a good start!
