His eyes widened as he realized she was using magic but couldn't dodge, not that that range. The energy slammed into his shoulder and he skidded back hissing in paid.
"... that darlin is cheating." There seemed to be something else to this than just her wanting to see how good he was. "Maybe you should take your little 'revenge' and figure out what you really want that directed at. Because it looks like you're just itching to get yourself killed."
He didn't want to attack her. Not with his fists and -really- not with his magic. They weren't suppose to be fighting each other and what was the use in wasting their powers like this when they could actually be doing some good.

Corvus remained on the ground for a moment, watching him with eyes that seemed to dance with traces of dark delight. The General that had placed his hand in her chest had been right when he made light of the darkness within her... But he hadn't been able to see the brightness of her heart; how fiercely that light burned.
"I know what I want to direct it at. If I'd wanted to really hurt you I would have; could have. I was just making sure you were paying attention." She murmured softly as she shifted to push herself to her feet. "To me; not just to my breasts."

"I was paying attention from the start." His eyes narrowed slightly and he didn't let his body relax completely. He still expected her to throw another attack at him for no reason "There's a difference between appreciating a good looking form and being completely stupid. Generally i try to avoid being stupid."
Not that everyone he met would agree with that but whatever. They could just be wrong and prove themselves to be idiots instead. "So. What is your real problem with me."

"You're arrogant and that makes you stupid. I'm not saying this because I think you're incapable of holding your own; clearly you are... Against youma, at least." She still wasn't completely sold on how well he'd be able to defend himself against an agent of the Negaverse; or a corrupt senshi, for that matter. "I'm saying this because I recognize a lot of what you're doing, the way you're acting, as things that I've done... You're not the only senshi who's been stupid. You're not likely to be the last either."
Her arms crossed over her chest for the moment as she sized him up again. She wasn't going to attack while holding that stance, at the very least, but her body language was still clearly defensive with just enough of a trace of offense... "What are you fighting for, Sailor Arachne?"

"Well founded arrogance." He didn't tangle with Negaversers or anything else so he wasn't stupid in trusting his own abilities. He made sure to steer clear of any sign of the Negaverse since he'd gotten rather good at picking up energy signals and telling what the relative strengths of them were. The few Negaversers he bothered with were ones he knew weren't going to attack him anyway. "I know what i'm good at and what i'm not and i stay clear of what i'm not."
He shrugged for a moment before crossing his own arms. "I'm keeping the streets clear and safe. I'm cleaning up so the youma can't drain more energy for whatever purpose they put it to. The rest of us i've met seemed more interested in cleaning up the Negaverse. Whether the lot of you like it or not -someone- has to get rid of the youma." And he was damn good at it. "While you're all dealing with misguided idiots i'm busy cleaning up their trash"

There was a brief flash of something across her face. Understanding? Not quite, but something maybe a bit closer to acceptance of what he'd just said, perhaps. It didn't seem to last long, though, that sternness of hers returning for a moment before her arms uncrossed and her voice shifted towards more even tones.
"You can ignore them for now, but they won't ignore you. They're the ones who are sending the youma out; some of them can even control them..." Some of them are part of them.... Her face paled a bit at the thought she didn't voice, but it didn't last long. She refused to let it. "What this is, what we are... It's so much more than just dusting youma."

'I've been attacked by one. I know that they wont ignore me forever." But right now he wasn't a big enough fish to cause a stir. For now he was easy enough to ignore. "... though the thought of dusting one that belongs to one of them is appealing." He smirked for a moment, obviously thinking about that.
Shaking his head he looked back at Corvus. "I'm sure there is more to it. But when a cat throws a pen at you and says 'have at it' before running off? You kinda have to go with what you're good at until something else presents itself. Know your limits and work in them. I'm better at dusting youma than i am at dealing with Nega's," At least ones that he wasn't mentally scaring. "So until i get ... business partners that's what i'm doing."

"Consider this something else presenting itself, then." Super Sailor Corvus took a step closer to Sailor Arachne, tilting her head up just enough for her eyes to meet his. She was clearly a proud young woman; certainly as a senshi and likely in whatever walk of life it was she had when she wasn't running around town looking like an avenging angel. It was taking a lot to push the next words from her mouth and she wanted to let him know that they were important; insisted on meeting him toe to toe, eye to eye for it.
"Work with me. You teach me what you know about the youma and I'll teach you what I've learned about the Negaverse... I've learned a lot over the past year and a half; enough that I was even able to convince my cat to come back."

He raised a brow at that. He hadn't expected Corvus to a) get that close to him or b) offer to work with him. It was an interesting prospect though. He -didn't- know a lot about the Negaverse, just what he'd gotten from Scheelite and Benitonite (and it probably wasn't good to tell her about those) and the other senshi could use a bit of teaching about the youma.
"I can see one issue with this." His smirk returned slightly. "I'm not one, if you haven't noticed, to take orders."

"You'll either get used to it, then, or we'll learn to work better together." A smirk of her own curved her lips as she held her hand out to the other senshi; a bit of a masculine gesture, all things considered. It wasn't intended to be taken daintily.
"We'll start tomorrow night. For now? You should probably put some heat on your shoulder. Revenge smarts a bit." Her eyes were dancing now, that smirk broadening just a bit.

"Or you'll learn to follow someone elses's lead instead of trying to do it all yourself" he caught her hand with his and shook it. "And i really am going to get you back for that." Once he took his hand back he dusted off his injured shoulder. He might just have to let some youma take a swipe at her for revenge's sake.
"you know what they say ...seek revenge and dig two gaves. Gotta be careful with that"

Whatever smirk had been on her lips began to recede as she drew her hand slowly out of his, stormy eyes delving back into that serious darkness "... I've already watched two graves be dug." She murmured softly before stepping back, turning away from him.
"Tomorrow night, Arachne." And she was gone; one bound back up onto the statue and the next across the green and into the woods. Super Sailor Corvus had one more stop to make that night; one she had to see to alone.
