Minny pondered with amusement a school for kittens until Dhalia told her there wasn't really such a thing. The thought of letting young kittens wander the streets alone was a little sad. But their parents must go with them right? That would be like Minny's mother and father letting her wander around alone without teaching her to look both ways at streets, and not to talk to strangers...
There was probably no rule against talking to stranger cats though.
"You don't have school at all? Or work? That sounds like a lot of fun!" Being able to spend all day playing? It sounded like a permanent summer vacation! Only it would go into the winter, and she could stay home and play in the snow all day!
"Your very lucky to be a cat." She said, crossing her arms and leaning back in the pool so that some of the water splashed over the bent side. "I would love to play all day! School is booooring." She made a face, thinking about having to start school again soon.

"No school and no work" She agreed, though after a moment she added in quickly. "Unless we have some 'work' we want to do I guess. Some cats seem to bore easily and need something to keep their paws busy." It was cryptic, vague, feeling no need to try and mention the mauvians or the special jobs they did.
Laughing a little at the girl's comments she couldn't help but agree, her tail swishing and swaying beneath the water like a white snake. It was wonderful to be a cat, even more so a mauvian.
"It's definately lucky and fun. That's probably why cats are always smiling" She mused with a soft purr, making note of the way that kitty maws upturned at the edges.
She had finally officially cold, the cool water equaling out the warm sun that baked on her top half. "Atleast at school you get to make a lot of friends, right?"

"So cats are like little kids?" She said, finding the picture holding anything in their paws hilarious. She leaned forward without asking, staring at Dhalia's mouth. Her mouth was, in fact, turned up at both ends. "Hey that's neat!" She said, leaning back again.
The water was becoming warm. Either that, or her legs were going numb. But for sure there was a thin layer of cat hair on top of the water.
"I like school." She said, pushing some of the hair aside. "A lot of the kids are nice, but there are a couple kids I don't talk to cuz they're mean and gross." The skin on the bridge of her nose wrinkled as she thought about the mean kids she was enjoying not seeing this summer.

She wasn't exactly sure why the little girl was leaning in, until the laughter erupted, the corners of her mouth upturning even more, smiling as best a kitty could. The girl really was such a little doll.
"Mmm.. that's too bad." She regarded as she shifted around in the water, only noticing her own hair when the girl began to guide it away. Would her parents question it too much? Probably not.. they'd probably just assume that she'd gotten a visit from some puppy. Those tended to enjoy water and were far more believable then talking cats that enjoyed swimming.
"There will always be mean or unpleasant people, and even cats, just try to ignore them and focus on the ones that make you happy instead." She offered with a sage nod, before lifting herself to stand, drawing nearer to Minny before she rubbed her soggy cheek against the girl's side.
"I should probably get going before too long. Thanks for sharing your pool with me."

She bent down to wrap Dhalia in a careful hug, feeling her thick fur all soggy against her skin.
"Your a smart cat!" She said, releasing her and standing up. The air was cool against her wet skin, something she welcomed in contrast with the heat. "Thank you for talking to me Dhalia, it was a lot of fun!" She stepped out of the pool and grabbed the towel off the ground. It was warm with sunlight and she dried herself off as best she could.
"Come back and see me!" She said, grinning at the cat. Then she turned around and ran into the house, where her mother asked about the abundant hair on her legs. She lied, saying that their dog, Kasey had gotten in. Her mother didn't need to know about a cat that could talk taking a dip in her kiddy pool.
Minny was already concocting a new story to tell her brother tonight when they went to sleep as she searched the fridge for something to snack on. It would be about a princess who lived near a pond that met a talking cat that liked to swim in the pond. She would help the princess defeat the evil wizard and release the herd of flying horses from captivity. Maybe she could tell the story to Dhalia the next time she saw her.

"And you're a smart little girl" She murred back happily as she was hugged, her heavy tail dangling and swaying softly.
As Minny got out and toweled herself, Dahlia hopped out of the small pool too, giving each foot a shake one at a time. That was followed with a full body shake to try and get rid of the excess moisture clinging to her coat. She probably looked a mess, and as soon as she left she'd find someplace to lay and groom herself back to perfection. But she couldn't deny how wonderful and cool she felt and that made it all worth it.
And the little departure from the Mauvian rules of not talking to people...? Well that had just been the cherry on top of a lovely afternoon. She wasn't particularly worried anything bad would come of it.
"Maybe I will." She grinned, offering Minny one last look before she trotted out of the yard and out to find a nice shadey bench or something to lay on.
