Looking down, Toba hooked her claws in the offered fish and pulled it closer. It occurred to her that she could act like she'd lost her appetite, but she was too hungry to be that committed to looking pathetic.
"Nowhere in particular. I just keep moving, that's all."

Piatsu's ears flicked, and he blinked. No wonder she looked so hungry!
"You could stay here a couple days, ah, if you like. Get back on your feet, maybe? I could help with hunting?" He offered. He was wary offering a home -- she might get angry - but he didn't mind helping make sure she got more good meals in her! That was what gentlemen did.

Score, it had worked! Now all she had to do was keep this up for a couple of days, not blow it by getting openly irritated with the male, and she'd have some more free food.
Toba put on a look of surprise, blinking wide, grateful eyes at Piatsu. "A-Are you sure? I wouldn't want to be any trouble for you..."

"Oh, no trouble at all!" Piatsu beamed kindly. "I enjoy helping people, and time hunting for more than others is probably more productive than other things I could be doing." Dodging around his parents was one such thing. "Besides, company to chat with is lovely, ah... If you enjoy chatting that is?" Piatsu smiled shyly now, a little awkward. A dork, really, but he really wanted to try helping!

"In that case, I guess I'll take you up on it," the lioness answered sweetly, curling her tail. "And chatting a little is the least I could do, when you're being so kind." Most of her chatter would be comprised of lies, but ideally, he wouldn't know the difference.

'Maru' nodded in acknowledgement, although chances were she'd put up with most, if not all, of his talking. Any personal questions would be answered with lies, anyway so she had no reason to be concerned about him asking things she'd rather not answer.
