"Thanks..." His ears drooping a little as he blushes, looking back at Maion, embarassment replacing the anger. Not sure if the offer was still open but he was glad that Maion had seemed happy about it at least. Smiling a little as he relaxes a bit now that death seemed averted. "I know she will always be your little girl, but I love her, and I will do my best to look after her and the little ones when they arrive." Going redder, he was terrible with blurting this stuff out.

Maion was silent for a moment, simply looking to the night sky. So much had happened... and this was a good way for him to almost start a fresh.... after the skinwalker attacks two mares had fell pregnant, and now after the kidnapping his daughter had... it seemed to make sence, the circle of life. "I know you will..." he said at last, looking down at Sonnet once more and noticing the red blush... he supposed the young stallion really was almost a colt still at heart, and as Maion looked he could see the small colt he had once taught to fly. So different yet so the same. Slapping him on the back once more with his wing Maion said, "Ok.... so I will speak to Drashi about your duties." Sonnet had already in part nearly accepted, and since Maion hadn't driven the stallion away he supposed it meant he would take the responsibility of a protector after all. "Now... get back to my daughter."

A huge grin lit up his face. "Really?!..." He knew many of the herd stallions sought the position that had been offered, knew what an honor it was for him. Nodding even more looking back to where Chan was resting. "I have another errand first." His espression very tender, remembering he had to go and fetch her some food for whe she woke, already trying to be mindful of what she might need. Having almost run off to obey Maions words directly, but he wasn't quite flustered enough for that. Looking at Maion. "If she wakes before I get back, can you let her know I've just gone to find her something to eat... And let her know its ok... She was worried what her family would think... She hinks the world of her father.... The Rest, I want to tell her." Smiling and taking a few steps away clearly heading for where theere was a nmber of fruit trees. "Thank you Maion." Not quite able to call him dad, least not yet and while calling him grandad was appealing he didn't want to push his luck with cheek.

Maion raised an eyebrow at the request but said nothing simply nodded, he could understand the need to want to provide and protect, and knew that Chandra would be safe here.... though knowing his daughter if she did wake she would likely go looking for Sonnet unless she was given a distraction. Maion was happy to be such a distraction, knowing his daughter would do anything for him... including indulge him a little and rest. Feeling that no more needed to be said Maion decided to go for a walk around the herd lands, and perhaps to spy his daughter before her form changed too much and belly extended with the swell of children.... he had missed that form with Sengdroma, hadn't even known he was a father until after the fact... it brought a smile to his face to remember the way all three of his children had pounced him in an effort to protect their mother. Brave from the start... and he loved them all so.
