There was another nod of the feline's head as she was tucked away some place safe. Though the cat had to fight off the urge to giggle, since from what she had seen, this youma, despite its size, was not too dangerous. As the boy went back to take care of business, ********* trotted over to the mats and merely sat down next to it.

Howl was not about to argue with a senshi about how he should approach this situation. There was value in experience, and since the teal-haired lad was lacking in that department, he was prepared to sit tightly and follow the instructions given. The constant calling back to him, however, was not nearly as reassuring as Boreas would have liked to think. In a sense, it was somewhat defeating the purpose of hiding. A less thoughtful student might have called out carelessly, and once more brought the attention back to his or herself.

There was a second cry of that Tundra Torrent again, and though curiosity did once more tease his mind, the young lad remained hidden. It increasingly felt as if he was a child fighting off the urges to do childish things. Maybe just a peek would not hurt... He began to sit up slightly taller, but then his protector had returned.

"Oh, goodness! You startled me," he called out, eyes wide upon the other lad. Boreas seemed to be beaming, and his words only confirmed that the danger had been eliminated. Yet, his considerate inquiry did not seem to be a well thought out one.

"...you are aware that this is a facility for Hillworth Grammar School, yes?"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 07, 2011 1:55 pm

There was a reason Noel avoided the Hillsworth campus and surrounding area since the boys there were best described as jailbait, not only for their underage status, but also the fact that most would end up in handcuffs sooner or later, and not the kind that Boreas was interested in. A graduate of Meadowview, he was entirely clueless about the campus and this battle had been his first time within one of the school's facilities. He certainly felt dumb for not knowing most of the students lived in the dorms, but was also happy that he didn't have to worry about the teal haired boy finding his way home. Keeping his sunny exterior, he tried to play it off as best he could.

"Oh that's right! I forget that most of the students live in dorms or near the campus. Would you like me to help you get home or do you feel safe enough to make it on your own?"

After he spoke, the senshi of winter made sure to look around the room in case ********* had emerged from the pile of mats in the far corner. Boreas was worried for her safety, though he was almost certain she couldn't have been harmed from such a strange youma. If he took a minute to really think about it, he could have destroyed the creature with one hit, if he had aimed his attack to target the snake's brain, but he tried to remind himself that hindsight is twenty-twenty.

"Do you see that cat anywhere? I am worried that she won't be able to find her way back to her owner on her own."

The feline padded her way out into the open a bit more after the youma had been dealt with. To ensure the boy that she was fine, she mewled out while remaining out on the floor.

The lad managed to notice the animal, but remained in place. "It would seem as if your feline friend is quite fine." Though Howl's face remained pleasant enough, there was still something bothering him in the back of his mind. He had obviously met this senshi before, though all of the details were quite blurry at best. The teal-haired fellow liked to think he had a decent memory, since he was able to remember his encounters with Miss Virgo and Miss Vanadis quite well.

"...I do have a question for you before you leave, Mr. Boreas. About a year ago, many people in the city were afflicted with this strange sort of coma. I hope I am not intruding with this question, but were you afflicted with the symptoms of that unusual occurrence?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 5:50 pm

Turning his head in the direction of the guardian cat's call, he gave her a smile and small wave. He was happy to see she was safe and sound, though he would have been more surprised if a bunch of ping pong balls were her undoing. Grateful for her help in distracting the youma, he did feel bad for endangering her in any way. Boreas promised himself he would take her for cake or something later as an apology.

"Yes, it looks like she is fine! Such a well mannered cat!"

Turning back to Howl, he didn't lose his smile or even flinch at the teal haired boy's question. Whereas before, he felt the need to protect the secret of the guardian cats, Boreas did see any harm in revealing his past to a civilian, especially when he couldn't see how it would reveal that much about him anyhow.

"Yes sir! I was actually out for a long time because of that strange occurrence. Thankfully, my health only got better afterwards! Were you affected by it as well?"

The lad's expression seemed to grow a bit more serious as he got the answer he was seeking. So there was a common element between the two of them. It was the only time during the recent years that would have left him with a less-than-clear idea as to what had been going on around him. Of course, he still did not have all of the answers which he was looking for, but for now his theories seemed to be enough to keep his interest.

After what seemed like a lengthy pause, he allow his features to resume the more pleasant expression. "Indeed, I had been afflicted with the symptoms." There was another pause as he then thought of a decent question to ask.

"...do you remember anything from the time in which you were unconscious?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2011 8:25 pm

Though cheery in his posture and facial expression, which included the usual grin plastered on his face, Boreas was unfortunately, using the pause to check the teal haired boy out. Giving Howl a few looks over, he almost felt bad for not intently waiting for him to speak. Boreas was unsure if he was eighteen or not. However, beyond that, he couldn't help to think that Howl was very pretty. Given this rather obvious observation, he then let his mind ponder on the question if the teal haired boy was too pretty or not. Was he manly enough for Noel to pursue or too pretty to conjure the appropriate hormonal spark Noel was looking for in a mate. Should he discriminate if a boy is pretty rather than handsome? Should he give into reinforced stereotypes that men were only attractive if they were ruggedly handsome or was he able to find beauty in more androgynous men? Perplexed at his own thoughts, Boreas bit down on his lip slightly and then turned to check out the boy and work through his dilemma. However, Howl's words completely derailed his train of thought and he was forced to focus on the events surrounding his strange coma.

"Hmmm... Let me try to put it into words... I guess I remember some of it? Bits and pieces here and there that put me in a desert or some place with a lot of sand anyway. Sometimes, I get these flashes, not often, but when I do, they are usually people. Hazy, fuzzy images of people in strange caverns or something. Maybe a place made of stone or something? I'm not really sure to be honest. I'm told it is normal for there to be a great deal of haziness surrounding those memories. Do you remember anything specific like that?"

Folding his arms, he tried to think back further. Dig deeper into his mind and find what seemed to be locked away with a key he didn't possess. Even the act of trying to remember seemed to raise some mental red flags and his body instantly started to shiver as if he had seen a ghost. Something was definitely holding him back, but what or who, he couldn't be sure.

The wandering eyes did not go unnoticed. However, Howl was keeping such an observation to himself. There were several times he had seen young men offer young ladies a similar treatment. The senshi's version was more respectful, but still noticeable enough to make Howl wonder. Was Boreas curious about Howl's obviously less-than-masculine charm?

This subject matter could wait, since Boreas' words did bring up some sort of memories of his own. Howl definitely had experienced the scattered amounts of recollection. Any efforts to really retrieve the small amounts of memory were greeted with failure.

"I recall sand and an overwhelming sense of fear." Howl fought off the urge the shudder, though the pause he took was hint enough that these were not memories he liked. "I also recall the word Nelumbo... which is quite strange, since that is the genus for plants such as waterlilies." For any who did not know of Howl's love for flowering plants, it might have seemed odd, almost egg-headed, for him to know such a trivial bit of information offhand.

"Nelumbo..."

The senshi of winter let the word sink in before he forced any thought. He knew the word too. Once more it felt as if something was awakening deep inside him. Goosebumps covered his arms and a shiver slowly made its way down his back. Boreas wanted to remember, if only to stop the uneasiness that welled up inside him, a certain sick feeling settling in his stomach. The smile faded as his face displayed his bewilderment at hearing how their visions seemed connected, if only by a similar landscape. Working to gather his thoughts, the white haired boy noticed the deeper he tried to go, the more it seemed like something was blocking him. He had come to a door without a lock. However, through the tiniest crack, the name "Nelumbo" seeped through and there it was: Nelumbo was a name. That's why he recognized it. However, a mental backlash seemed to hit him, grimacing at the sudden burst of pain in his head. Taking a moment to regain his composure, Boreas felt a mix of confusion and relief at finalizing realizing what the word meant. A smile crossed his face once more to reveal his satisfaction.

"That's someone's name. I just know it! Though I have to admit I never knew it was a flower. Weird that something has the name of a flower. Do you think it was a girl? Hmm.. maybe a guy? Hopefully a hot guy... Anyways, how could we both remember the same obscure name when we were in a coma?"

That was an interesting reaction if anything. Howl at least was able to maintain his composure as his words seemed to cause a sort of "bad reaction" with the senshi. It seemed as if Boreas was the sort who wore his heart on his sleeves, unable to hide what he was feeling at any given moment. Perhaps it was a weakness in character, or perhaps it was a strength in character. Having been raised to mind his manners, he had been trained that showing how you really feel was less than desirable at most times.

"Hopefully a hot guy..." Howl echoed in his mind. There had been several slips on the senshi's part, but this one was indeed the most glaring one.

Noted, Sailor Boreas' sexual orientation is homosexual.

It wasn't something Howl would bring up in conversation. There really wasn't a polite way to ask about such a thing. Instead, he continued along the lines of the current topic.

"I am equally as intrigued that there are some similarities in our experiences with what had been called a 'coma.' I am uncertain if such a label is accurate for the affliction. However, I do not know the 'hows' to the experience. I hardly even know the simple 'whats' to the situation to be quite honest, Mr. Boreas." A hand drifted to a spot right below his earlobe and seemed to try to pinch over something that wasn't there. He had been in the midst of practicing fencing, so his usual dangling earrings were not there, meaning he couldn't fuss with them at the moment. In an effort to recover from such, he drew the fingers closer until they touched the side of his face.

Honestly, the senshi of winter felt bad for not knowing more information about the mysterious coma and the reasons why no one seemed to be able to fully remember or at least piece together the incident. Destiny City had been in a panic and the people who weren't afflicted were as much in the dark as those who were in a coma. Fear was widespread and he knew that much had happened while he was knocked out; however, even though he protected the city, Boreas had yet to be given a proper reason why everything went to hell for a few weeks. Secrecy only made the matter worse, but for now, there was nothing the senshi of winter could do about it.

"Honestly, I don't know much about the 'how' and 'why" either. I certainly wish I had more information, especially since it seems to me that the affliction was something greater than a coma. The only information I can give you is that everyone who I have encountered, who was in a 'coma', has made a full recovery. I guess that is something to be thankful about. Have you encountered anyone else who was afflicted?"

A smile returned to his face as he focused on the positive aspects of the situation. As far as he knew, no one had experienced any side effects and this was certainly something special as he was sure that some form of brain damage was common with coma victims. For now, the senshi of winter counted his blessings since it seemed the only true side effect was memory loss.

Suddenly aware of his surroundings, Boreas felt a bit odd standing around a messy high school gym. Though he had certainly contributed to the mess, he didn't really like the idea of being seen around campus. Senshi were still considered vigilantes in the city and he didn't need a bad rep, especially one that involved minors.

"Do you mind if we take this conversation outside? I would like to leave this mess to someone else, if I can. Hahaha"

A single brow lofted up at the young man's declaration. "I hate to disagree, but the papers had a full list of who had not survived the epidemic. I also knew a few students from this school who had gone through the coma, but did not manage to wake up again." It was pretty easy to notice when the leader of a small "gang" in Hillworth had vanished, for the underlings had no idea what to do in the ways of their bullying. Such was the case for Jesse Alvarez's little group. No Jesse, no organized bullying. Davies and Bryce were absolute idiots, but they could give a scare every so often if the mood struck them.

The shift of conversation did not seem to help any. Was Sailor Boreas truly so irresponsible that he'd leave this facility as the mess it was. "This mess is what I get to clean up. So if you are quite done, perhaps you should leave so I can get to work."

Playfully, Boreas raised a brow at Howl as he spoke. Both arms were raised and folded to take in the teal haired boy's words. Noel didn't subscribe to any newspapers and being affected by the mysterious illness had definitely implanted a strong aversion to learning any more of its atrocities. Initially, the white haired boy had numerous tests and physicals to make sure his swimming abilities hadn't been affected by the coma as well as other tests to simply make sure no other side effects were present. It was certainly fair to say he didn't look into the symptoms of others, but nevertheless, the situation was a bit of a sore spot for him.

"Feisty, aren't ya? Well, like I said, no one I've encountered before suffered any serious side effects, besides memory loss, of course. Sorry to hear about your loss, I certainly meant no harm or foul. Simply making an observation based on my own experience."

A smile remained on his face, revealing his true intent of simply wanting to keep things light. Boreas noted that Howl certainly made an impression and didn't mind voicing his opinion. Though it didn't really change how Boreas felt about the teal haired boy, he knew from that moment on that he wasn't one to overlook anything. Boreas would have to watch his words as best he could. A venture the senshi of winter certainly wasn't experienced in.

"Most of the mess was here before, but I suppose I don't mind lending a hand with that monster's leftovers. Do you see any large bags or nets that we could use to quickly sweep some of this stuff up?"

Apparently the fact that a few students from Hillworth had passed meant it was a loss for the teal-haired lad. It was actually quite presumptuous of the senshi to think such a thing. The only loss he had suffered was Franz, and his was not technically a part of the epidemic as he recalled. Just unfortunate timing more than anything.

Without letting that hint of sadness attached to Franz's death touch his features, Howl clarified "...my classmates are of no concern to me... I have suffered no loss..." At least from the hands of the coma epidemic, though Boreas had no need to know that.

Where as the help would have been appreciated, Howl shook his head at the other man. "I am quite certain you have your own tasks to tend to that do not involve cleaning up a sports facility. Somehow I do not think the faculty would react as well as I have to the presence of a senshi on the campus."

From her spot respectfully further away, the guardian mewled out, almost as if she agreed with what the young man had said. She would be fine hanging around, but the super senshi probably would be at a disadvantage if he were to linger about too long.

Boreas felt as the though the evening had taken a turn for the worse. He wasn't quite sure what he had said that agitated the teal haired boy so, but he knew he had obviously hit a sore spot when discussing the pandemic. He didn't have much experience with these kinds of situations since he was usually better when it came to talking to people, especially as a senshi. Boreas had high hopes for his new powers and what he would be able to accomplish now that he had a new goal and mission. However, it seemed he hadn't really helped anyone at all and the senshi of winter felt as though he had only made things worse in the end. His smile faded away and his voice grew sterner as he walked over to the large, metal double doors and said his final goodbyes.

"Agreed. I think it is best that I don't stick around much longer since the staff of this facility could arrive at any moment. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful to you in cleaning up, but I really do have to make sure there aren't any other instances where youma are harming the denizens of our city. Good night."

Once he was outside, Boreas broke out into an all out sprint to make it back to his apartment. Once he was past the Hillsworth campus, the senshi of winter took the rooftops and did his best to stay out of sight. It bothered him greatly that he had upset someone and all he could think to do was to get out of his hair as quickly as possible. Though he tried to stay positive and remind himself that he had just destroyed a youma that was attacking a civilian, Boreas felt as though he shouldn't have said anything at all and simply left amidst the chaos of the battle. For now, Boreas wasn't too pleased with his mission of being a senshi for the people. Although his powers had grown, Boreas felt that he hadn't made any real progress.
