Thrice thought about it. "Or we could go for takeout or something? 'Cause I'm craving fried rice, or maybe some orange chicken, or broccoli-and-beef or something." Just because I'm a deer doesn't mean I'm not an omnivore! It was confusion she'd run into before. To the people who refused to believe it, she showed sharp teeth and fox's tails. It usually convinced even the doubters. Heck, even most deer foxes, her adopted siblings included, had paws, and those were carnivore traits!

Melody's stomach growled as Thrice named off some food. Now SHE was getting hungry at the thought of food. "That does sound really good~ Sesame chicken sounds really good, too." She gave the other female a smile before taking a few steps towards her.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Our stomachs will eat themselves if we stand around talking about food rather than eating it~"

Thrice's stomach gave an incredibly unladylike growl at that moment. The more she thought about food, the more she craved it. The sesame chicken was the last straw. "That settles it," she said decisively. "We'll go to the place on Fifth Street that does takeout. We'll get a bunch of boxes to go and find some place to sit with each other and share it, how does that sound?" She grinned and flopped a tail around Melody's shoulder, leading her away, not really caring whether or not that was an invasion of personal space. "Don't you just hate it when you're far away from food when you get hungry?"

"That sounds really lovely, Thrice." She gave a warm smile as she thought about the food, and sharing it with her friend. The more she thought about it, the more eager she got about getting the food and devouring it. Well, devouring it in a proper, lady-like way that is. If that's even possible.
The tail around her shoulder snapped her out of her food thought, and she nodded. "It's quite the pain in the stomach, is it not?" Not minding the tail too much, she allowed Thrice to lead her away. After all, she really didn't know where this place was that Thrice wanted to go. So why not let her lead the way?

"'Pain in the stomach,'" Thrice said. "I like that phrase, do you mind if I use it again in the future? It really is quite a nice way of saying it. Well, creative and funny more than 'nice,' per say, but I like the sound of it." With that, she lead the way, humming happily into town. She knew the way to the restaurant quite well--she was used to walking there. Sometimes, when she was in a particularly bad mood, she'd walk there all the way from the house, a nearly three-mile journey. Sometimes even in the dark--late night was absolutely scary, but it was worth it. She was a night-owl by nature, and that place was open pretty much until three in the morning.
"You ever stay up late and do something you're not supposed to do?" she asked suddenly, when they had been quiet--excessively so--for too long. "Like, something you've been told over and over again to never do, but you do it anyway, for the thrill of it or something?"

"Of course you may use it. I have no copyright on the saying at all." Melody giggled. She glanced around as they walked, takign in the surroundings and the route they went on in hopes of remembering where this place in case she ever wanted to go back to it.
Her ears perked slightly at the sudden question. "Uhm, no... No I haven't. I usually do as I'm told so as to avoid trouble and the like. Why, have you done something like that before?" She had always been taught to be a proper young lady, and as lady-like as her mother.

"Well, just makin' sure," she replied. "I don't know many people who would complain if I used 'their' phrase, but I've met enough to know when to avoid it, I mean yeesh. I live with too many grumps by far."
Thrice had never been ladylike at any point in her entire life. She'd long considered three of the human patrons around the shop to be her "mothers," (it was a long story), and of the three of them, two of them had a certain reputation for contempt towards traditions of lady-like...ness. Specifically, the mother who'd raised her was contemptuous at best of ladylike behavior. Thrice, then, had been encouraged to be herself, and to not hold herself bound by outdated opinions of genteel behavior. Polite was held higher in esteem than gentility. "I don't get told to do much, really. Not anymore, anyway. Sometimes, though, if I'm hungry late at night, I walk to town to get food. I know I shouldn't, we live a long way out of town, but I do it anyway. In the summer, at least--the weather's nice in the summer. You'd have to pay me to get me to do it in the winter, gross!"

The vixen gave a small frown. She lived with a few grumps herself but not many, really. That or she was just good at avoiding the grumpy ones. "Goodness, I'm sorry to hear that. Grumps are no fun whatsoever."
Being ladylike and proper was something she was raised to do.Raised to be a good girl. But what would it be like to be rebellious or something of the sort? To not do as she's told for once. How much trouble would that get her in, exactly? She shook her head at her thoughts, finding them to be a bit silly for her. "Ah, you don't? So you're pretty much free to do whatever you want, huh?" Her little smile returned.
