((XD Darn! If we'd waited another two days it would have been a whole year on the dot since you'd last tagged!))
Shani laughed. "If I wasn’t so tired from my run today I could totally take them!” She stuck her tongue out at the raccoon family in an immature gesture that probably went over their heads. “Anyway, who wants to sleep in a hole that stinks like raccoon,” she said, putting a playful, prissy prance in her step, then nearly had to stop walking altogether as she broke down with a case of the giggles at how ridiculous she felt.
“I don’t know how other foxes can do that,” she confided to Static, trotting along behind him and still shaking with the occasional giggle. “I mean acting all pompous like that and meaning it! If it’s a choice between sleeping out in the cold or rain, or smelling like a raccoon, then I think I’d learn to get used to smelling like a raccoon!” She shrugged to sum up her bafflement to the whole subject.

"I'm not entirely sure the raccoons understand that guesture..." Static mused softly to Shani. He said nothing at her comment, but watched her with a bewildered look as she did some sort of...dance? What was that? Was it some sort of Sledfox...thing? Custom, habit? Perhaps he shouldn't be staring. Ah! she caught him staring...quick! Look like your doing something! Say, that's an interesting tree!
Shani's next comment alleviated his confusion "Ah, I see now..." he said in relevation, then gave a gentle smile that virtually screamed apologies. " I do find some foxes logic to be flawed in situations like that...but we could just be smelly together!" He said, softly chuckling along with her.

Shani’s giggling increased at the look on Static’s face. Ah, she was gonna get soft! Teasing could be such a refined art, but it took so little to make her mate flustered. And actually the complex stuff seemed to go right over his head, so she had to go with the more obvious. Ah well, he seemed to be learning. Maybe someday she’d get to use her subtle stuff again.
“Well, the day’s still young and I’m sure we’ll find something that doesn’t smell,” she said, snuggling up to her mate for a moment then moving away so she didn’t trip them up. “And if we don’t, won’t be so bad. Looks like it’ll be a clear night and the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t stay warm by curling up together.”
A mischievous grin spread on Shani’s face. She subtly drifted closer to her mate, then suddenly leaned forward and gave him an affection n** just on the corner of his jaw.
