Amrita looked relieved at Malodore's response; she really didn't want to have to relearn how to walk and hold things! She had been about to settle back into her chair until she realized it meant to but her to sleep if it didn't work. Yet that was another thing she couldn't respond to, as Christof was making noises and flailing like a mad boi---Oh wait, he wasn't just flailing. He was signing.
She could only stare, dumbfounded. What was...how...but...

Malodore blinked at the sudden flurry of gestures from Christof. "Ah, no, Amrita wants them backwards, I believe. It is a mark of her heritage and her identity."

The hunchback nearly fell out of his chair and flipped the table but somehow managed to stay seated and not stab himself with the needle. Instead he gave a defeated, but clearly unhappy whine and went back to stitching sullenly.

"P-plus I'd have to relearn h-how to, um, walk." She piped up from her chair, sinking lower in it as though her two cents would make things worse. Riley made her realize that walking with proper facing feet was uncomfortable and just not possible without great difficulty, so hopefully Christof would understand. After a while she found herself growing bored, and so she started looking between the door and the body and back again, over and over.
Riley wasn't coming...she should have been here by now, right? Pouting again, she climbed off of her chair and shuffled quietly up to the table, hooking her little fingers hesitantly on the edge. "C-Can I try?" She pleaded like a child wanting to help her Mother cook, watching the needles dig into the flesh that would soon be hers.

"Of course you may," Malodore said graciously; it put down its needle and thread and pulled more from its sleeve, quickly threading the new needle before holding it out to the ghoul. "Make your stitches as even and neat as you can; remember, this will be your body very soon!" It opened its beak in a smile.

Christof grunted, working feverishly although still worried about those hands and wrists being attached just perfectly. They would face the right way, or he would have done something WRONG. Not on his watch. Hands and feet were supposed to point in a certain direction because it was biologically correct and that was Proper Parts Order.

"Eee!" Amrita squeaked out excitedly, taking the needle and thread from Malodore, and got to work. She was slow, very slow; for every stitch she made, they no doubt made four or five. But that was the point! She wanted to make sure she did a good job! Malodore had expressed how important it was, and she quite agreed with it.
Over time, with the efforts of all three combined, the body lay finished - or at least extremely close to finished - on the table. The little ghoul stared down at it, mouth slacked open on awe. "Oh...w-wow! So pretty!" She gushed, patting the thicker, wavier hair on the body's head. It was nice to see the body in pieces but to see it together, even though it was naked, was... Oh jack, that funny feeling was coming back, one where she wanted to give hugs to everyone and leak from her eyes!
...
Okay, she'd have to hold that back for now. They weren't done yet! Wait...they were missing someone, still! She looked around, frowned, and then hopped off of her chair, twisting her hair over her shoulder. "W-why isn't Riley here yet?" She still didn't think she could get out on her own, but if the Demoness wasn't there soon, she'd have to try...

I'm sorry. Riley stumbled in, looking worse for wear than she really should. She had run here, but that wasn't very odd for her - it was the fact that she was out of breath from her run that seemed out of place. She closed the door behind her, and immediately walked to Amrita's side, placing a gloved hand on her shoulder. The gloves reached all the way up to her upper arms - in fact, with a pair of pants and blouse, Riley was probably revealing the least amount of flesh today than she'd ever done before. Her neck, however, had a large white bandage wrapped around it's back. There was no hiding that one.
You know I would not let you do this without me. She whispered, though her chest still heaved as she tried to get her breath back to normal. All right. So, how has it gone so far? Ah, she looks lovely.. truly a modern miracle.

Malodore turned around at once when it 'heard' Riley's voice, its beak automatically opening in a smile - but it paused as it took in her appearance, especially the bandage around her neck. Strange... but now was Amirita's time to shine, and Riley certainly didn't seem as though she wanted to be fussed over. Quite the opposite, in fact. Instead, it sent her a fond mental caress before turning back to the work at hand.
"Ah, yes, Amirita, as requested... there is one other 'feature'," Malodore said, calling the vetala's attention to the body's face. It gently fitted its claws at the edges of one section of flesh and tugged. Part of the face came away in its hand, revealing a gleaming skull beneath. "Is this what you had in mind? The removable bit is thoroughly saturated in preservative, and ought to remain viable so long as you keep it seated most of the time, to keep it connected to your FEAR."

Christof did not approve of this addition to the body. While he understood the importance of self-identity when parts were fully customizable.... parts were supposed to stay in place. And be properly attached. It was... EMBARRASSING to have your face fall off! What if people thought he and Malodore had done a poor job constructing her body?
No matter. So long as Amrita was happy.

The tiny ghoul spun when she heard the door, her only eye wide. Riley! Riley was finally here! Out of breath, but here! Ee! Yay! Her excitement was short lived though, as she noticed the wat Riley was dressed...and the bandage. Her brow furrowed in worry, but before she could ask about it she was distracted by Malodore, calling her name.
She shuffled over where requested, standing on tip toes to watch the Doctor peel the face off. Ee! omijack that was perfect! Her entire demeanor brightened, and she nodded with all the excited enthusiasm of a child. "Yes! That's it! Thank you!" Wiggling, she lowered herself back onto her feet and padded back to Riley, putting the back of her hand on the ghoul's arm.
"I can try now right?" She needed help to get started, but thankfully she was getting too excited to listen to the nagging doubt that lingered.

Riley returned the affectionate nudge that Malodore sent her way, hiding the tiny hint of color that kissed her cheeks with quick movement. She laid her hand atop Amrita's, and moved to sit on the other side of the body. She was proud to see the ghoul was ready to go so quickly, and nodded.
Absolutely. You're ready. I would suggest lying in the same position as the body, simply to help to keep disorientation to a minimum. Also, it would help if you're physically touching it - any touch will do. To prepare yourself, you should lay beside it, close your eyes, and simply clear your thoughts. Try to listen to the conversation around you as a distant outsider, instead of an engaging member.
She looked at Malodore. This, of course, means we should speak. So.. don't fall silent during this process. Hearing our voices as background will help, not hinder.

Malodore quickly scanned the body one last time for any imperfections; when it found a loose thread, it tied it off, then snapped the remaining thread away with a snip of its beak. It tested the seams with care, paying special attention to the areas Amrita had sewn herself. Christof's work, as always, was excellent, and it nodded and smiled at the patchwork in recognition.
Satisfied, it turned around. "All is ready," it announced, then stepped back grandly and gestured Amrita towards her new body.

Christof scooted to immediately make room for Amrita to get more comfortable, bristling with excitement. So close so close... this was it. With bated breath, he backed away, unsure of what to do next. There didn't seem to be any levers to pull, buttons to push... just... wait for a command, he supposed.

Amrita listened to Riley's instructions, her brow furrowed. Her single gray eye moved between her friend and the body, and after a moment she shook her head. "No, I don't think I can." She said firmly, frowning in thought. "Err, do it exactly like that, I-I mean..." She abandoned the group entirely, moving towards the door to pick up the fabrics she had dropped there; as with most things she possessed they were boring. No prominent designs, a flat colour, but definitely some sort of wrap.
When she returned she did at least follow a little bit of Riley's instructions in that she climbed up on the table, sitting beside the body with a leg turned oddly, allowing for her toes to touch the new corpse. It was good for morale she supposed, touching the body that would hopefully soon be hers. She wriggled, trying to make herself comfortable...and then started to unfold the largest of the fabrics. It was a dreary greenish thing that she let pile on the table behind her.
"O...Okay...I'm...I'm ready." She squeaked out, her voice shaking enough to not have any faith in her words. "U-um...p-please, talk." That part she definitely agreed with; the silence made her feel on stage, and she didn't like being on stage the first time! With a shaking breath she closed her eyes, and as she had done in Malodore's room at the beginning of this whole project, she started rotating her shoulder, her free hand grabbing at the rotting flesh to mime pulling off a really tight sleeve. Soon the body's arm went limp and the wrist cracked and crunched to twist the hand into it's proper position; in it's place was a nearly transparent, somewhat gray limb with the hand detached from the wrist.
A shakey exhale and she began the process with the other shoulder, the ghostly hand coming up to help mime; this one seemed harder to do, like she was already starting to struggle with it.
