Possible History: Father is a druid, mother is not. They were married in a spiritual ceremony, one that may or may not be recognized by society; it is definitely not recognized by her parents. At some point his parents become ill and after his father's death, his mother decides she wants her parents to know she loves them and introduce them to their grandchild. She does reconcile with her parents but dies before she (and her son) can return to the tribe. The grandparents thus formally adopt him and try to integrate him into "civilized society". Unfortunately he doesn't understand the rules, dislikes the populated areas, and feels suffocated by it. Upon reaching seventeen he is enrolled at the academy─they wish him to train his magic and become an Ars Lilium─and while he does pass the Grave of Fairies and become a witch, after that term he leaves the school and makes his way back to the tribe he remembers. (May be best to go with something more generic; unsure of lore at this point.)

Musings: Father's name Tahigwa, meaning peace, because he was blessed with peace throughout his life? Mother's name?
