The Beatles were Merric's homies, if he was being honest. He could play the bass parts of most of their songs, and had a small shrine devoted to them in his closet. It was kinda creepy from time to time, in all honestly, but only he saw it so its all good, all good.
The waitress arrived with their food before Merric had a chance to comment on that particular movie. He nodded and said thank you politely and picked up his sandwich and started munching on it. He swallowed his first few bites and licked pastrami juice off his finger.
"That is a fail of a movie, Anne Boleyn. She totally had it coming yes, but it still is a chick flick. Now Step Brothers... that's a good one," he said, glancing down at this sandwich to take another bite. Okay, honestly Step Brothers wasn't a good movie; it was crude and entirely too raunchy at parts. That was part of its charm though.
And so much room for activities!

Odette’s eyes lit up when she saw her food placed in front of her. She reached down, picking her sandwich up, and biting down the crunch of the bread was fantastic.
Best. Sandwich. Ever. No contest. At all.
She took a drink of her water then made a face. “Step Brothers? Really? If you like the plotless, pointless movies, at least go for a funny one. I find Blades of Glory to be much more amusing. “
Aha. So you do have a fun side, huh, Odette.
“Elf amuses me too, on that note. The entire idea is amusing.”

Merric shrugged, munching on his sandwich. "Step Brothers beats all," he said between mouthfuls. He checked his phone; he had twenty minutes before he had to leave. Twenty minutes, really? Had it already been almost an hour that he'd been here? Time flew when you were enjoying yourself, huh? And he was enjoying himself.
Surprisingly.
He took a swig of his water and glanced at Odette for a moment. He felt obligated to invite her to come to the show tonight, but at the same time he was on the fence about it. It could end rather badly if he did invite her and she went crazy rabid fangirl on him.
He didn't really want Ilona laughing her a** off at him for it.
Well he still had nineteen minutes to decide that.

Odette just laughed, shaking her head.
"No, Merric. You're still wrong about that. But I suppose I'll forgive you for that poor taste in movies."
She finished her sandwich then sighed, relaxing in her chair. When she took a second to glance at her watch she seemed so surprised.
They had been in the cafe for a while. Huh. Time really was passing quickly.
"Can't believe the time's gone so fast, it feels like we just got here."
To be honest, the entire lunch was going much better than she had anticipated it would.
It was a really nice feeling.

He finished his sandwich and leaned back in his chair, hands patting his full stomach. Merric would have to remember this place and come back again. They made a damn good sandwich. The waitress came over and dropped the check off, not bothering to look at Merric. The boy grabbed it before Odette could and checked the tab, noting the amount.
His wallet was half way out of his pants before he realized that she was paying and put the check down. "Ah right, this is your treat."
Ten minutes and counting before he had to leave. He took another drink of his glass, oddly pleased with how the lunch had gone.

The girl took the check, glancing at the total and drawing out the money from her purse.
"Yeah, well, next time it's on you. Unless, you did fee like paying this time. I wouldn't say no."
She laughed, then sighed.
"You mentioned you were busy after this, right? Maybe we could hang out again sometime though, do lunch again? Maybe dinner?"
Who was she kidding? He'd never want to. She was still secretly surprised he was here with her now.

His silver eyes flicked towards her and a pleasant look came over his face.
"Maybe, if I have time. You can come to the gig tonight, if you want. Its in the sixteen and up club down near the park," he said casually, picking up his helmet from the chair next to him and hooking it under his arm. He waited until the waitress had come for the money before standing.
He waited for her then, to at least have a shred of gentlemenness to the whole affair.

Odette blinked, standing after he did.
"You serious? Okay, I'll be there. What time is it?"
He was inviting her to hear him play again?
....No doubt. This really was the best day ever.
"I'd love to come. Thanks, Merric."
Yessssss! So cool! She must have done something to convince him she wasn't a complete creep!

He walked her outside and stopped in front of his bike. She was still totally a creep, but something had changed, and Merric had no idea why. Or what it was. The teen straddled his bike, fishing through a pocket for his keys.
"Seven. And don't mention it. Should be fun," he said to her with a smirk. It wasn't like anything was going to come from it, in the end, so if she came to the gig it would be fine.
He pushed the helmet onto his head and started up his motorcycle. He walked the bike out of the space, reving the engine a few times. "See you there, Odey," he said, a nickname falling from his lips for no reason. He smiled at her, and flipped down his vizor.
A nickname? What the hell...
He kicked the kickstand up and gave her a nod before gunning the engine and speeding off.
Time for practice, and to get his mind off of her...
