Tsunami's tail curled around her back leg as she watched Jayden's grin grew at her words. What could be going on in the stallion's mind that made him so pleased with himself? The mare was indeed flattered by the attention that she was receiving but there was an undercurrent of malice that threaded through Jayden's every move and word. Even though the mare knew that this meeting could be fraught with disastrous results - she remained caught up in the moment.

Still ... she had to admit to herself that Jayden knew how to turn a girl's head. Figuratively and literally.

Tsunami felt the pressure increase under her chin as Jayden used his wing to lift her gaze to meet his again. The feeling wasn't entirely pleasant as it seemed that the action had nicked a small cut along her neckline. She could feel just the minutest trickle of blood as it welled up and spilled over. Her attention though was once again locked on Jayden's eyes as he answered her queries. A faint, but not unpleasant, feeling grew from deep inside as Tsunami registered that the stallion found her attractive. She couldn't know that he was addressing a whole different aspect of her than just her looks.

Her eyes closed briefly as her emotions overwhelmed her. She welcomed the brief respite of darkness as she murmured softly. "Thank you for your words. No one has ever said that to me before."

With her eyes still closed Tsunami couldn't see the return of her winged companion. The flying creature winged its way around the head of the stallion trying to slap at it with its wings before settling on the mare's back. The message it was trying to convey was one of deep hatred for the stallion. It would not leave Tsunami alone in the mare's time of need.

Jayden was growing more and more annoyed with her strange creature by the second, especially as it seemed to want exactly the opposite to him.... how.... irritating. He glared at it a moment, but didn't risk doing so for much longer incase Tsunami opened her eyes.

Jayden felt the slight droplet of blood start to run over his claw before it continued its journey down her neck... deliciously tempting, but he forced himself to resist even as the scent filled his nose. Pulling his wing away he brought it to his lips and licked softly like a child lapping from their mothers breast. This was the sweet nector of life, the force that sustained all the processes that kept all things alive.... and it was so delicious.

He closed his eyes for a moment, indulging in the only drop that he would allow himself to taste. "My dear..." He half purred and half growled, "...you are more than welcome." His eyes snapped open, the glowing yellow iris's focusing on her once more as he spoke, "...so... would you like that?" In many ways it was the moment of truth, how strong was her desire to own something of her own? Not that Jayden would tell her that should any interest his sister she would likely take them... and by force.... that was a matter for later to consider. Or... would Tsunami's sence win, along with that annoying creature of her's, foiling all of Jayden's plans.

Common sense was something that was seriously lacking in Tsunami's judgment right now. The allure of having something all to her own was overwhelming rational thought. The mare believed that her family would be supportive of her decision if she were to accept Jayden's proposition. There was the small niggling doubt that was stuck at the back of her mind though. Growing up in the herd she'd heard all about the stories of the alicorn that had gone rogue. And here she was ... another alicorn. Tsunami only knew that Jayden carried the genetic markers of a Kalona. Wasn't that enough cause for concern? He still was capable of flight so that shouldn't count against the decision either.

Head vs heart. Intense longing vs. rational thought. In the moments that Jayden removed his claw from its position under her neck and Tsunami feeling the return of her companion ... the decision was finalized. Her eyes opened as she took in the night scenery and the moonlight still shining down on the pair of them. She was young and prone to making mistakes. This was probably going to be the biggest and hardest to explain.

Quickly and very tentatively she stretched her neck out and bumped it against Jayden's with an air of timidness. "I will accept your offer on one condition. Tell me what you really are. It won't change my mind ... but I want to know." Tsunami's gaze softened as she spoke one more soft-spoken word, "Please?"

She shuffled her wings awkwardly before stretching them out to the sides and gave them a small shake. Loose feathers floated down to the ground. She watched this for a minute before turning her expectant gaze to Jayden.

Jayden narrowed his eyes and snarled slightly even as he tried to keep his calm.... it felt as if he was about to lose everything, all that hard word at behaving himself... it wasn't easy to fool others these days, the word and the threat of skinwalkers had grown and spread like a wildfire. Still, he couldn't lie.... it went against his nature to deny something he was proud of, and he was proud of his Kalona heritage and his batwalker status.

Calming himself so that his features looked more tranquil and attractive once more he spoke with a sensual growl, hoping that it would captivate her enough to ignore the impact of his words. "I was once a Kalona.... now I am a batwalker."

After telling her the truth he waited, hoping that she had spoke truth about it not changing her mind. His eyes continued to glow and stare at her.

Would he actually tell her? Tsunami's thoughts whirled around in her mind like a maelstrom. Curiosity reigned supreme though. Her ears once more caught what sounded like a snarl coming from Jayden and she glanced to his face to try and read the expression there. Golden eyes were narrowed in anger at her. What could she have said to make him so angry? Even as this question joined the others that she wanted answers to the stallion's expression changed yet again. His features became more genteel and when he spoke - his words sent a chill down Tsunami's back.

It wasn't what Jayden said at first that caused this reaction in the mare. Instead it was how the stallion spoke that made her shiver. One could easily be influenced to follow anyone with that sort of voice leading them astray. Tsunami sighed. She had been led astray. Her eyes sought Jayden's glowing orbs before his words registered in her mind. What in the world? A batwalker?

The shock at learning Jayden's true status had the mare take a step back instinctively. 'Walkers were considered dangerous and incapable of goodness. It was what Stormfall had taught her daughter. Her expression was that of a deer caught in a headlight. Had she struck a deal with the devil? It was then though that she remembered that she had given her word to Jayden. He'd kept his side of the bargain in admitting what he really was. She would honor her part as well. Tsunami's hooves felt as if they were weighted down with lead but she erased the step back she had taken in fear and once more stood in front of the stallion. "I must be the most foolish mare in existence for remaining in the presence of one such as yourself. I've heard many stories about your kind. I promised though that I would not leave and I am honoring my word. I am yours."

Jayden didn't know what had given him the clue that he had won... perhaps it was that although Tsunami had stepped back she hadn't gone far, hadn't run away like most who knew of either of his breeds would have. Kalona's and Walkers alike where not exactly the nicest of creatures to walk the earth.... in fact, he prided himself on not being. Or perhaps it was the slight look of defeat on her face... honor he imagined, was a terrible burden for those who choose to live by it. He was only thankful he had no such inclination.

As he words drifted to his ears he wanted to purr, to sing in victory..... "Yes...." He said, his voice low and nearly feral, "....you are my dear."

Today, had turned out to be much more fun than Jayden could ever have suspected.
